I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Right.
I haven't had any more contractions at all.
that appears to have been total false alarm.
I was bloody tempted to sleep on that ball, it seems to be the only thing that makes me contract - which leads me to worry that actually it was my stomach muscles contracting andf not my uterine muscles.

I did wake at 2:30 this morning with the most bloody-kiling-me back ache - It lasted for ages and wouldn't go away when I changed position or curled up into a ball.
But eventually I fell asleep and that was the end of it. Hmm:(

So, officially one week over now.
and the longest live birth thread with no baby in the history of MN.
I was saying to DH last night that I dn't hink i've got a baby in there at all - it's just a giant cyst with a heartbeat (that moves around)

it's never going to come out!!!!!
(and this is unfair because my periods were always regulare as clockwork)

I am very old but does anyone remember the Young Ones when Vyvian is pregnant and gives birth to a giant fart? Grin

FellatioNelson · 03/12/2011 10:08

Congratulations Girls - Nickel, gory details are really not what you need to be hearing right now. You need to be keeping positive. Now come on woman, Team Nickel have spent good money on T-shirts and banners and everything and you are already lagging towards the back in this race, and it's your flippin' thread!

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2011 10:23

I just remembered nickel. I didn't have a single pain at the front with either of mine-it was all back pain. I wasn't expecting that.

stripeywoollenhat · 03/12/2011 11:00

woohoo, a baby! congratulations, girls Grin i'm going to consider that a gauntlet thrown down, myself....

so i got up this morning and - TMI now, maybe - had an alarming dripping sensation Shock stopped now, thankfully, dripping randomly not a direction i want to go in in a general sense, but i am wondering if it was a bit of waters leakage, perhaps. feeling a bit twingy - and exhausted because dd wound up sleeping with us, which never makes for a good night's slumber... girl's due date today - maybe she's going to be one of the 5%?

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 11:16

Put a pad on - then you can see what happens with the dripping!

fraktious · 03/12/2011 11:31

Back ache is good! Unless it means OP presentation which is ouchy.

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 03/12/2011 11:40

i did have something earlier that felt more like a contraction than before.
about an hour ago, and then another 5 mins ago.

it was a really, really tight tightening across the whole of the bottom of the bump.
and it stung a bit.

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 11:46

(but i'm beginning to think i'm making all this stuff up)

CointreauVersial · 03/12/2011 11:46

Hiya Nickel, I was asking after you at the MN meet-up last week, and here you are, with the longest birth thread ever.

If it's any help, all my labours started on 40+7 days. I'll send you baby vibes today, so good luck.

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 11:49

thanks Cointreau Grin

I wanted it to be one of the shortest ever!

usingapseudonym · 03/12/2011 11:51

We went to the church fair this morning (and brought more rubbish for the child's stocking) and of course everyone and their dog points out that I'm there (really?), that the baby is still inside and going to be huge. Thanks for that Hmm. Bless. At this rate I'm going to be there for the toddlers nativity etc...!!

My back pain is just a dull ache now and not even properly hurting so I can't get excited about that anymore. I'm sat on my ball watching "House" while my husband has taken the child to a party. (He seeemed to think I wanted the time to sort Christmas things and tidy - er NO i need to do nothing!)

I woke up in the middle of the night too! Grrr.

grump.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 03/12/2011 11:51

nickle with DC5 it was a right bloody faff. Twinges and back aches and feeling fidgity and not quite sure what the hell was going on. I couldnt tell the MW I didnt know when I was about to sprog no.5! Such shame at not knowing if I was in labour Blush

Well I was. I know I was because I know have a very hairy headed 19 mth old to prove it!

Now get a bloody move on but if you can wait till this evening please? I have two parties hellholes to get through today. I will need a nice cosy birth thread later. ta.

usingapseudonym · 03/12/2011 11:52

Oooh sounds like a contraction to me!

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 11:54

mrsDV oh good, i'm glad it's not just me Grin

pseudonym i would want to kill them - that's one of the reasons I didn't go to choir last night, i just couldn't be arsed with all the questions.

lostinwales · 03/12/2011 12:10

Go nickel, go nickel,

LittleDonkeyhadaMadHairDay · 03/12/2011 12:48

Oooh yes could be contraction-ish that one...

Come on nickel! Grin

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 12:48

ta Grin

I'm having another one of those tightenings - this one keeps swelling up and then going down, then swelling up again.
it's been about a minute.
that's an hour since the last one.
and it's at the bottom half of the bump again.
