I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Not at all DD has a party tomorrow too and I am most definitely not taking her, mind you it's on a cruise so i'm not sure the logistics of DH taking her either Hmm would be one way of getting rid of them all and giving birth in peace Grin.

ISawPINOTSnoggingSantaClaus · 02/12/2011 19:12

Ooh is there still time for me to join in the cheerleading?

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 02/12/2011 19:34

Nickel, how you doing lovely? I didn't want you to think I'd dumped you for ECC!! Just think, she'll have hers soon and you can have all your fans back!
Sending raspberry tea and pineapple your way! Smile

Jacksmania · 02/12/2011 19:43

Jeez, have you not had that baby yet? :o

I guess fiona and I will be on night shift again tonight!

fraktious · 02/12/2011 19:43

I'm still your fan nickel, although I might go to bed myself soon.

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 20:00

well, Chaos has got 4, i suppose i could borrow those.
but they're quite far away from me....
she says they're monsters.
but, Harley, yes send yours and Sparkling too.

I have got 2 cats here being annoying - Seb keeps yelling a me to pay him some attention.
Hmm

I'm sure something's happening, but i've been sure of that for 3 days now...
I have had what I think might have been (trying to avoid the magic word, but hey!) contractions - i had one at 5 past 7, one at 25 past 7 and one at about 20 to 8.
they lasted more than 10 seconds, but i don't think they were the real thing

maybe this is it - DH is being too kind to me. so no stress at home.
I need to get him to ignore me, and expect me to do stuf for him, don't I?

oh dear....

i'm supposed to be sstressed! according to my MW , the fact that I'm still working is supposed to be making me stressed! which, I suppose if i didn't have such a cushy job it might.

ah, but, I did have a run-in with the Abbey /santander this morning. Ihad to transfer a rather large amount of cash form the tsb to the abbey, and the machien inside the abbey wouldn't acept the money - just kept throwing it back out at me. I got really panicky, because there were now people behind me, and i had this huge wodge of money that i didn't want anyone to see because they might steal it. Apparently, the machine needs resetting/updating because it can't accept the new £50 notes. The ones that according to the Royal Mint have been in circulation for a month - and no notice on the fuckign machine to say they can't accept them yet. I said to the boy with this face Hmm "you do knwo you're a bank don't you?"
he thought i was being arsy....
because it's business banking, i'm not allowed to use the counter, - i have to use the machine, and of course, the machine outside can take my notes, but i didn't have an envelope or a paying in slip because i was using the inside-machine, so i had to ask for those because he didn't realise that they don't spit one out for you with the business bank accounts.
and of course, because the machine with the envelopes doesn't add the money straight to your account (because they have to count it manually), i have to wait until monday until I know if the money is in the account.
which wouldn't normally be so bad, but i'm already a week late paying the bills that this money was destined for.

that should be making me stressed, shouldn't it?
my BP was still 110/60 on thursday...
(and i don't feeeeeel stressed!)

(not at your reply to youtalkin though.
that's shit - you should do what i do and curl up on the settee and fall asleep.
of course, in my house, things magically happen when I do that - i'm guessing your house doens't have the same magic. :( )

Oooh the magic c word (gets excited for nickelbabe). I think you might beat me :)

I haven't got those - just still dull backache. Still. And I had a show ages ago now. Something should be happening!

contractions are contractions, nickel - and stop start shit less likely first time out, i believe.... think of stressful things, go on.

i have one, she is nearly three, and the hour and a half at the end of her day is often quite stressful (attempts to pick up cat, throwing food on floor, throwing self on floor, refusing pyjamas/toothbrush/to get in bed etc) but not in a way that has encouraged her sister to come out.... perhaps the small one has heard the interactions with the cat and made a wise decision, mind you Hmm

so, no sweep - the midwife i saw this evening looked very taken aback at the suggestion, despite my being told at both previous antenatals that they would sweep me today. i'm feeling pretty content with this - girl has bobbed back up to the top of my pelvis anyway so unlikely to have achieved anything, i reckon. she is currently headbutting her way back downwards, i think, very uncomfortable bladder stuff going on. so i 'm assuming i just get to lounge about this evening without having to worry about the whereabouts of labour bags and babysitters....

youtalkin, sympathies. 'whatever you fancy picking up from the chipper' is your answer for dh, i believe....

vamosbebe · 02/12/2011 20:34

Had my second monitoring (ie just the heartbeat) this morning (am 41 wks today) and no sweep - YAY! I don't think they do them over here in Spain

I've got another monitoring scheduled Sunday and if nothing's shifting they're booking me in for induction Thursday, I'll be 41+6 which I thought wasn't bad - Pea could always pop out naturally beforehand.

Haven't had a single twinge as yet - although I feel as though I've been kicked in the crotch, repeatedly!! Makes me walk reeeeaaaal pretty! "like a duck carrying an elephant" according to DH :)

Any more pains, nickel? I'm on the edge of my seat with my fingers crossed :)

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 20:39

i feel like i've been kicked in the crotch!
especially after I've been to the toilet.

how odd.

I've just washed my hair, and leaning over the bath/sink (i have to use both) made me want to vomit.
I'm not sure about any more pains, cos the leaning might have hid them.

I'm goign downstairs again for a bit to have some ice cream and bounce on my ball a while.
I really quite fancy a nap, but my hair's now wet.

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 20:39

(i'll be 41 + 5 next thursday - my induction is provisionally booked too)

Right I'm here now. BabyNickel, you may show yourself now.

ConfessionsOfATinselFanjo · 02/12/2011 20:54

Sorry, haven't bothered managed to read all the pages, so apologies if it's already been mentioned, but have you tried a pineapple pessary? I hear it's the way to go...

ElfOnTheShelf · 02/12/2011 21:02

Sounds like things are hotting up nickel. My mum always used to wash her hair as soon as contractions started, bless her. My waters broke while at the gym so i hopped into the shower and washed my hair but it was all in vain as i sweated so much pushing her out i don't look at all glamourous in my post birth pic's Grin

vamosbebe · 02/12/2011 21:08

Hoping Pea will arrive Tuesday or Thursday as they're both holidays here - that'd be nice, to always have a holiday on your birthday.

I'd always make sure to do very separate special things for the birthday and Christmas, keep them as separate as possible - but it'd also mean putting up the decs later in December, and I'm SUCH a sucker for Christmas decs!!

EVerything went up yesterday, presents and cards all done, going in the post tomorow. I've been 'off' work since October, so have had plenty of time to get organised... so why do I stil feel very last minute?

Treating myself to a glass of red wine tonight, oh the decadence!!

stripey when are you due? how many days are you over? how many people have you wanted to kick for saying "ooh, haven't you had it yet?" ??!

fionamaryan · 02/12/2011 21:18

Jacksmania I'm reporting for duty! Just slipping into my 'Team Nickelbabe' teeshirt and then I will b ready 4 whatever their night brings. Oh and I've got balloons-lots and lots of balloons. No siree we are not gonna run outta balloons-not on my watch.Grin

CuriosityCola · 02/12/2011 21:21

Not had time to read thread! Did the tens machine arrive today?! Eek!

stripeywoollenhat · 02/12/2011 21:22

vamos - not due till tomorrow, but in my defence the girl put me through two days of contractions earlier this week so i now feel late... and i'm 42, so i think some of the midwife team i'm with are erring on the far far side of caution when it comes to delivery dates (higher risk of cord prolapse, i believe, though still not an enormous risk or anything). some of 'em aren't, though, obviously Smile

enjoy wine, i hope pea obliges with the holidays Smile
