I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

AIBU to be jealous of all you pregnant ladies?? I really miss being pregnant.

Op, does ISBN stand for Ickle Squishy Beautiful Newborn?

Good luck everyone

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 12:54

Grin sparkle

aww, Dog that's cute Grin (it doesn't , though, sorry, it stands for International Standard Book Number - Chaos chose it on account of me working in a bookshop!)

Still laughing at the jonny Briggs comment! That was a blast from the past!

Still have tightenings on & off & baby definitely moved down earlier.

Am so flipping tired from being kept awake by this baby.

Older two at nursery baby is in bed & Dh at work so I'm on the sofa under a duvet feeling sorry for myself!

We have got dds 1 & 2 their bikes for Xmas and their stocking presents.
Have Dh birthday (today) then the mil and my niece which have all been bought & the nativity costumes handed in so partly organised.

Have had two births where waters broke with no pains beforehand & the first where I had backache & pains & waters broke as Dh was trying to convince me it was time to go to hospital.

So far feeling like I did the first time.

Also fielding irritating questions about whether or not I have had the baby.
Considering having it & not telling anyone..

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 13:12

I'm also getting fed up of customers asking me about it - don't mind if they're people I know, but I very nearly got through a whole transaction before I got the dreaded question.
I said "minus 6 days" and she went "6 days? won't be long then" and I went "no, minus 6, it was due on Saturday"
and you have to be all nicey-nicey to people!
"yes, I am annoyed, yes I am fed up of waiting, yes, I do fucking hate it when random strangers ask me how long i've got to go, then tell me how brave i am for still working!" (I'm glad in a way that I'm not at home, because 3 days of false alarms is fucking killing me - if i'd been at home, i think I might have got a plunger and sucked the sodding thing out!!)

Aw nickel
Soothes brow
Jog round shop when it's empty
Waters will break soon after Grin

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 13:27

I'm so tempted - I get tightenings when I'm walking around (like all the way from home to work), but every time I stop, they stop.
It's annoying.

then I get the lunatic woman from church (who ripped up raffle tickets on Sunday, "trying to help" Hmm and meant someone had fewer chances of winning) poking her head round the door and making annoying comments of "i bet it'll hang on till christmas now"
I hate her i hate her i hate her i hate her.
I did actually swear to her (not at her - I said "i fucking hope not!") Blush
i never swear in the shop.

My "period pains" are only really when I walk and I've had similar comments about hanging on til Christmas/summer too! Are you sure you're not me looks suspiciously at nickelbabe. I didn't go to music group with daughter today and not sure about church on sunday for fielding all the comments Yet Again. It all started about 37 weeks so I'm well and truly over them all!

After all this false alarm stuff I am going to be so cross if I get to 42 weeks and they want to Do Things.

So far today we've made biscuits and mince pies and I was going to start on more baking before I realised I needed more flour. Asda is my nearest shop - do you think they do anything if your waters break there? Really should aim more upmarket but don't want to do a car journey at the moment!

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 13:53
Grin

I don't think i'm you Confused
but i have been very forgetful recently....

I texted DH about lunatic woman from church asking if i could kill her.
his reply was "It can't go that long. That woman is a nutcase though" Grin

You need to have badges clearly stating 'No I have not had the baby yet'.

fraktious · 02/12/2011 14:02

nickel I had that and decided to go for a long walk to encourage them. It worked Wink

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 14:06

I've just foundthese extra methods on babycentre honestly not googling madly

"Here is a selection of other methods (some of them a little bizarre) that other mums are said to have found helpful. There is no evidence for any of these and frankly we are not convinced!

Blowing up balloons: the theory is that the build up of abdominal pressure encourages labour to start.

Bouncing on your birth ball or driving your car down a bumpy road would seem to put the same faith in shaking things up a little.

Get a weepy video and have a good cry.

Wear your best knickers (sod's law will ensure that your waters break in them)."

I am wearing my trousers today, in the hope that it makes my waters break.

ooh, there's a twinge.
top of middle, and it's not going away...
and moving down a bit....now it's gone.
that was about 10 seconds.
(that's not long enough!)

I'm tempted to do some jumping up and down frak

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 14:07

(am just looking for my shop balloons now, too....)

OP posts:
Lexilicious · 02/12/2011 14:11

how about some cake?

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 14:13
Hmm (i've seen that before Grin)

have blown up 7 balloons so far.
My lungs hurt, as do my stomach muscles, so I'm going to keep going! Grin

thanksamillion · 02/12/2011 14:15

next time someone makes a comment can you please reply 'yes, I had it last thursday and have left it at home'. I always wanted to but was never brave enough.

Nickel I'm not going to have internet access for the next 24 hours so if you could just hold on for me that would be fab Grin

seeker · 02/12/2011 14:16

Shall I pretend to want an incredibly expensive order that only you can fulfil which means you have to be in the shop all today and tomorrow or you lose the sale?

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 14:32

that would be lovely seeker - even better would be to give me something really complicated and very urgent to do. Grin

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 02/12/2011 15:36

I found doing the ironing helped. No seriously. And I hate ironing but was bored.

homeaway · 02/12/2011 15:36

Awww Nickle... people are only trying to be politely interested... not helpful I know. Remember every twinge and pain now is your body getting ready for the finale ! Fingers crossed you have some action tonight ! When is the next full moon that normally means lots of births ? Sending hugs.

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 15:45

i ironed 2 surplices on saturday.
that didn't help.

plus, the only clothes i've got that need to be ironed are ones that don't fit me at the moment!

OP posts:
IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 02/12/2011 15:46

iron them for when you are a slim jim then.

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 02/12/2011 15:47

this is all just bollox you know, Isbn is coming when s/he is ready and not a moment sooner.

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 02/12/2011 15:47

but I do wish s'he'd hurry up! Grin

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 15:47
