I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

It's all very exciting!

TheSmallPrint · 02/12/2011 09:34

You should have had the poke around Nickel!

My waters never broke on either of my two, had to be done manually once I was in labour. DS2 was 40+5 he wasn't peely or manky Hmm but he was HUGE and looked about a month old. Grin

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 10:00

Right i've had a sob. The sweep was the same Sad She did tickle his head though Hmm Nice. Back again Sunday and then i will be booked for induction.

Youtalkin have you name changed? Did you help you help me on a name thread? I still don't have one.

Come on SOMEBODY has to have a baby soon. We can all sniff their head and make ours come out.

usingapseudonym · 02/12/2011 10:05

Thumb - my no 1 was 40 + 16 too - I didn't go in for induction appointment until +14 then took until 16 before the c section. Wasn't peely, looked perfect but was HUGE so no idea if I just gestate longer. Really don't want to have to go for induction/c section again.

My nan is ringing THREE times a day and if I don't answer she gets all funny with me, even when I explain I've been at playgroup/wherever! What are people like. As if I'd have a baby and not tell anyone (actually that is quite tempting...)

I guess its going to be a while ... good luck everyone today. I've decided to do baking so that at least I have nice things to eat even if I don't have a baby!

youtalkintome · 02/12/2011 10:06

Yep have name changed because I outed myself on a baby name thread, will have to name change again after baby is born because i'm pretty sure i'm outing myself again now. We still don't really have names either, perhaps that's what baby is waiting for Hmm don't know the sex though. I'm meeting a friend later with her 1 week old, do you think sniffing his head will help?

Wish me luck with my sweep just off for it now.

youtalkintome · 02/12/2011 10:07

ps Sob away, you're in very good company Grin

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 10:12

What is it with these naughty babies? Someone get cracking!

homeaway · 02/12/2011 10:15

Just passing by and wanted to wish all of you good luck and hope you have babies soon. Friends of mind used homepathic remedies to bring on labour but I would only go to a registered practitioner. Hugs and kisses to you all.

Thumbwitch · 02/12/2011 10:18

whoo! to babies coming out looking a month old!! DS was only 7lb 3, so not even big. Xmas Grin

Interesting what your friend said though, nickel! I wonder if there is a good reason for it, like people are getting taller for some reason...

BamBam21 · 02/12/2011 10:21

Just wanted to pop in and wish nickel all the best. I really hope it all gets going for you soon, but if Isbn is born on Sunday he/she will share a birthday with my DS, so obviously that's a fantastic date to be born!Xmas Grin

Good luck to all the other expectant people too!

Still 10 weeks to go for me Xmas Grin

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 10:23

Have all you 'imminent birth' ladies got Christmas all sorted already then? Envy

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 10:23

Good luck with the sweep! It wil all be fine. I have had 2 in the past and babies have followed a few hours later Smile Names are tricky.

I do just cook for longer. Hey ho. They all come when they are ready. Annoyingly not when WE are ready Grin

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 10:26

No to Christmas being sorted. I have bought 2 children's presents and a few bits for family. I got the Christmas cards last night and that's it. The Elf on the shelf is out along with the advent stuff but that is it. I want a baby first.

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 11:29

moony - i couldn't think of a word that fitted the wrinkly look they keep describing other than manky! You'd have let it slip on the words thread. Blush

Nickel- remember I have an excellent babysitter in my house at your disposal in a years's time or so-you'll be able to go out for a Christmas meal next year!

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 11:32

Sparkling - you're kidding aren't you! Grin
I just about managed Advent!

TheSmallPrint · 02/12/2011 11:38

S'alright Nickel, I didn't mean the Hmm face in a feisty way more in a yeuk way Grin.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 11:39

Don't worry Nickel there's always the hospital shop! Or are you planning a home birth?

youtalkintome · 02/12/2011 11:51

Ok i'm back sweep was a doddle, was expecting her not to be able to do it as I haven't had the others until 41 weeks but cervix anterior and stretchy( there is only a few on this thread that will be excited by that) and she was able to feel babies head although it isn't engaged. Feel very periody now but that's similar to my 1st sweeps with the others which caused me contract off an an for a day or 2 and then nothing, second booked for Tuesday hope I don't need but but am fully expecting i will.

Dh has gone to work until 9 so I have to do school run bed and bath on my own, grr there'll be a zillion people to help once i've had the baby but until then i'm on my own, i'm not even sure i should be driving but hey. I have got out of my lounge wear today and applied bucket loads of make up in an effort to feel better.

Christmas sort of sorted, dc pressies all done, dhs pressies mostly done everyone else can get stuffed Grin. Nativity costumes, check finished those today thank god would feel terrible if i hadn't, dd would have been all "it's ok mummy that i'm the only child without a costume" with her understanding sad face that kills me. i'm going to go and make some mince pies because i'm greedy and bored. Can someone please have a baby because i'm always last so need you lot to crack on in order to produce mine.

TheSmallPrint · 02/12/2011 11:52

Just to change the subject and distract you for a minute - look the Xmas Grin Christmas smilies are up!

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 11:52

Yes-someone have a baby!!!!!

stripeywoollenhat · 02/12/2011 12:10

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 12:15

yuck. talkin - hope it makes something move.
At least you know things are going in the right direction. :)

i am having a homebirth, sparkly (i hope!)
