I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Wide awake here too but nothing exciting happening just usual waking up and not being able to get back to sleep ! I've got lower back ache like in a period that comes and goes but not with any regularity and it's mild. Feels odd wanting pain but I just want something to start!

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 07:00

God, I'm so bored of this now!
All day I got twinges yesterday - all day!!
and then i spent the whole night with nothing! every time I woke up, I was "is anything happening? no."

pseudonym - that's exactly what's happening to me! :(

Grr still no baby.
Dh got in from work around 2am so we did the deed.
Still no baby.
As dds 2 & 3 arrived ten days early I'm being texted & contacted as if it's my due date.
Tomorrow would be quite handy cos my mum is having the kids anyway

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 07:03

Morning. Am off to read thread.

Still pouring show and have lower back ache this morning. The race is ON Nickel Grin

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 07:05

my sister is forcing me to have it by Saturday.
She's even told me that it needs to be here by 11am, cos that's when she'll be in covent garden (i don't know if i've mentioned it on here, but she's buying a jigsaw with the baby's name on it from Covent garden and she neds to know the name before she can do it - which means the baby has to be born by then! (we have names, but we don't know whether it'll be boy or girl))

girls - we're having the same thing - i dread hearing my text message announcement - it's "oh i wonder who's asking if i've had the baby yet?" and my mum rang twice yesterday Hmm

I think your sister might be BU. Shock I can just imagine her standing in the shop drumming her fingers on the counter, staring at her phone, while the poor staff are all waiting to lock up for the night.....

seeker · 02/12/2011 07:09

I'm cheering on my home team- come on nickel!

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 07:12

I have my Mum, Dad AND Aunty and Uncle coming on Saturday. Now that is pressure Grin

I am being swept every 5 minutes because the boy is HUGE and needs to come out or he may be very stuck like some of my past babies have been. I wouldn't ordinarily be having sweeps till a week over. Last sweep this morning and then i will be takin in over the weekend or Monday for waters breaking or section.

I HAVE to go in to labour < prods tummy >

Nickel sleep is best anyway. You won't get any soon so lie there all you can.

FellatioNelson · 02/12/2011 07:25

hahaha - it would be funny if you went into labour before Nickel and ended up bumping her off her own live birth thread! Poor ol' Nickel. Come on! It feels like you've been PG for about five and half years.

When I was PG with DS3 I was due 2 weeks later than a woman I knew form school. When I went into labour a week early I got to the ward at about midnight and there she was, wandering up and down the corridor in her nightie, between contractions. She'd been there for about 10 hours. I breezed in, gave birth in three hours, and when I wandered/staggered down the corridor the following day there she was, still pacing up and down the corridor having yet more contractions. She wasn't happy!

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 07:29

Reminds me of the episode of Friends where Rachel is in labour, and everyone comes in and has their baby and leaves, and she's all 'it's my turn'!!!

Morning Nickel and all other MN people about to pop. x

girlsyearapart · 02/12/2011 07:38

Dont be concerned about lack of show I've never had one

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 07:40

What Girls? No show? But mine was like a big poo? Envy

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 07:41

Aww Nickel will win. I am always last. I will hide in the background till she has popped Grin

Your poor mate Fellatio. That would have been so frustrating.

Don't you find it odd how you wish the pain upon yourself. MADNESS.

Must go and attempt to wrestle children in to uniform. They ahve all had cakes and pastries for breakfast as when we did the shop in Twatrose last night (ever hopeful of waters breaking in there) they reduced the cake section to £0.9p. Bad mother alert. I am going to scout for leftovers...

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2011 07:44

This is the second time i have had a show in 8 children. I had one with the twins (born at 29 weeks) and they cam the next day. Normally i have a show, fore waters go and a baby appears about an hour later. This is not the norm. It's almost like a text book labour. V odd.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 07:54

I had the crochet hook to break my waters both times. Sad

youtalkintome · 02/12/2011 08:11

No sign? I'm off for a sweep this am, had acupuncture yesterday afternoon and nothing apart from a good nights sleep happened. I now have 10 needles left in my ears that bloody hurt to have in (imagine the cartilage pierced 10 times) So this baby had better make an appearance before i need them redone on Wednesday.

Why do i always have to be overdue Xmas Sad and others just cough their babies out at 38 weeks, even worse was yesterday i looked at my dates, i had an iphone app that calculated periods and my dates put me a week behind add that onto the 10days i usually go over i could never have this baby.

Sending labour vibes to all the women due on the plus side December babies are lovely, little Christmas snugglies.

usingapseudonym · 02/12/2011 08:11

I had a show . . . But it was over 48 hours ago now so didn't mean much in my case! Husband has gone to work and i'm entertaining toddler while really wanting to be in bed asleep. I'm thinking I should have written christmas cards or they might not get done! I haven't had a sweep but they are predicting big baby. No 1 was 9 10 and this looks big. Hoping for vbac so hope it fits! All the best today everyone! X

youtalkintome · 02/12/2011 08:12

oh and 4 phone calls from my mother yesterday to ask if anything was happening Xmas Angry Xmas Grin.

PestoCaffeinisto · 02/12/2011 08:36

Good luck to you all, fingers crossed we have some more news today Smile

Thumbwitch · 02/12/2011 08:40

Still nothing, nickel?

I didn't have a show and my waters broke down the loo! very tidy. but that was at 40+15 and after the induction had started - DS did not want to come out. But he wasn't cooked - when he did finally appear at 40+16, he was perfect - no peely skin or anything. Xmas Smile

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2011 08:44

40+16 Thumbwitch? Yikes!

Thumbwitch · 02/12/2011 08:52

Yer, I know. It was my fault though - because I knew I needed consultant care and to be seen by one before I could leave after DS was born, so I refused to go in on the Friday for induction. Went in on the sunday instead, which was 40+14 - and he was born 2 am Tuesday. As it turned out, they wouldn't let me out until Thursday anyway but hey!

nickelbabe · 02/12/2011 09:26

I know i'm going to be bumped off my own birth thread! Grin
i don't mind, I promise!

(after all, ExquisiteChristmasCake started her own thread after only just deciding the day before that she had such a big baby it would never come out - now look! And I booked my thread before she did Shock)

g&t - :( . It'll be fine - keep shagging, and having the sweeps, and keep in mind the goal of beating me, and it'll come!

40+6 today, you know...

thumb - see, i think it's odd that more and more babies are being born later than Term and they're not all peely and manky - my friend who's a MW (when I say that i feel like that brat in Johnny Briggs!), said that she reckons babies are just taking longer to cook these days - that there's such a pattern that they maybe should review gestation length.

Anyway, I'm up, there's nothing happening - there might be a bit of mucus, but not much. But that might just be normal stuff..

I'll get dressed and sign in again from work.
(which I'd like to be able to finish soon!!!!!!!!)
