I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

Ah belly dancing sounds cool! It may work and as catgirl says 'dance that baby out!'. Maybe I should go on dd's just dance games on the wii....
Just read back through my notes and apparently I was 1cm dilated at sweep... Woop. Not!

handbagCrab · 18/11/2011 16:56

Hi :)

I'm 40+5 today :( Midwife couldn't even do a sweep as my cervix isn't low enough. I'm at my wits end. I sit on birthing ball, do hypnobirthing, am all ready to go, try and stay relaxed, it's not working!

I really don't want induction which is booked in for next Friday. I want a hippy water birth goddammit!

Going to try a combination of pineapple, champagne, counselling, massage and acupuncture over the next few days. Good luck to everyone else :)

catgirl1976 · 18/11/2011 16:58

oh handbag :(

that baby may yet surprise you

hoping hard you get your water birth

why are our babies so reluctant!?!

nickelbabe · 18/11/2011 17:00

:( You can always refuse induction.
they only have to recommend it - if you don't want to be induced then tell them to get the hell away from your fanjo!

handbagCrab · 18/11/2011 18:09

Thanks catgirl and nickelbabe :)

I know I can refuse induction but my evil midwife was laying it on about failing placentas and harming the baby. I'm going to take someone with me when I go in, if we get to that stage, who'll be a bit harder to guilt trip! Hopefully they'll agree to monitor me instead.

Don't know why this baby is so reluctant to come out, he's huge and there can't possibly be enough room for him! He still manages to hide from the midwife though, god knows how he's doing it :)

I've booked in for a treatment with a lady who does a combination of reflexology/ accupressure/ reiki and massage so if that combo doesn't work nothing will.

Hope all the babies make their appearance this weekend :)

voodoomunkee · 18/11/2011 19:20

Handbag don't take all the mw has said to heart. There could be an increased risk, however I have also refused induction and asked for monitoring. Hospital and mw are happy to do that. My induction is booked for weds. I'm starting to be monitored on Tuesday.

showtunesgirl · 18/11/2011 20:20

Currently 41 weeks and I had my THIRD sweep today. I'm booked in for induction on Monday and I just want this baby to come NOW.

Still scared about it all though. :(

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 11:59

this week I have had a tale of a woman who didn't have an induction and delivered at 43 weeks (and a couple of days, I think) and the baby was fine.

Also, I have a midwife friend who said that it seems to be a pattern that women are carrying for longer (maybe it's a evolution thing - food is in better abundance now, so the baby has no need to come out so early, because it's not suffering for nutrients - or rather, it's not leeching important nutrients from the mum) - she says she's seen a massive rise in women who are carrying until after 41 weeks, and that's probably now just normal.

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 12:06

here's a question though - you know Emma's Diary?
why does it always just go to a page on what to expect at this stage -then it says "see how Emma copes with this week" but then it doesn't actually have her point of view - just more facts.
Hmm

catgirl1976 · 19/11/2011 12:11

Because Emma isnt coping and is rokcing in a corner, drinking :)

I keep getting e-mails from Mama and Papas, Mothercare etc, saying "Congratulations on your new arrival" - it does not fill me with love for them!

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 12:18
Grin

I'm waiting for those emails to start coming in.
two of the people who send me info (Bounty and Emma's diary) all have me at one week further on - which is really annoying, and I'm sure it'll be even worse next week when they're asking me "to keep in touch".

catgirl1976 · 19/11/2011 12:53

I;m really sorry if this is TMI, but I lost my plug.........does that mean he is on his way?!? Daren't get my hopes up!

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 12:59

oooh!
it might not be - plug can go up to 2-3 weeks before anything happens.
but it does mean your cervix is softening, so it's all moving in the right direction Grin

catgirl1976 · 19/11/2011 13:00

2 - 3 weeks :(

Am just going to think positive thoughts and clean the house to take my mind of it! :)

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 13:02
Grin the exercise should do something! Grin
showtunesgirl · 19/11/2011 13:08

I have been slowly losing my plug / showing for TWO weeks and still NOTHING. Angry.

I'm beginning to think that this baby doesn't like me or want to meet me.

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 13:13

no, tuney - it's because you've made such a lovely comfortable home for the baby that it wants to stay there - it's like immediate cuddles without having to ask for them )

showtunesgirl · 19/11/2011 13:29

Ha. I'm known to be a good cook and one of my friends said: why on earth would a baby want to come out to milk when it's currently getting the really good stuff on tap!

catgirl1976 · 19/11/2011 13:31

Right thats it - going to eat nothing but gruel and see if that changes his mind

Showtunes - do the same!

showtunesgirl · 19/11/2011 22:45

Well I failed in eating rubbish. I had a gorgeous brunch today followed by a very late lunch at a place that serves amazing Neapolitan pizzas just like they make in Naples.

Also went to the food market behind the Royal Festival Hall and picked up some divine cakes.

So guess what? Baby is still in there.

catgirl1976 · 19/11/2011 22:59

Well he won't come out if you keep feeding him like that :)

Mine has just been enjoying some Charbonnel et Walker truffles.........they were for Christmas but........

CollieandPup · 20/11/2011 03:54

Hi, can I join? Its my EDD today (Sunday)! I've been having strong and regular BH for weeksand lots of other 'signs'. But Yesterday I thought it was it!!! Had the most disgusting amount of gunk which was lightly streaked with blood, and had very intense period pains and what felt like mild contractions starting at night and lasting all day. Completely irregular though but felt/sounded very much like latent labour.

Now, nothing!!!! Diddily squat!!!! And I'm up in the middle of the night because I just can't get bloody comfortable!!!! This belly so big and heavy!!!

showtunesgirl · 20/11/2011 11:22

Last day before induction and I have truly done everything to shift this baby. Nothing. Just more kicking and bumming in there!
