I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

raspberry leaf tea - bleuch... but i guess i could go and make one too. just googled average length of gestation for 2nd timers and it's 40+3. 10 more days, noooooooo....Hmm

PotteringAlong · 26/11/2011 12:17

I am 41 weeks today. If my dad rings me once more to ask me when the baby will be born I'm going to kill him... :)

(can you tell my patience has also run out :o)

neverinamillionyears · 26/11/2011 12:25

alikat carrot cake for breakfast is superb! I'm now back at home having had a full breakfast, cappuccino and glass of Orange. lovely and full now. Baking this afternoon, nigella lawsons choc cherry cupcakes. They are very easy and majorly delicious. I'm ignoring being pregnant now, so baby may just think that it will catch me out and decide to arrive. [Grin]

neverinamillionyears · 26/11/2011 12:27

Oh and pottering, I told my mum not to call and keep asking but can.still call me. I haven't heard from.her since Tuesday! Parents are odd.

nickelbabe · 26/11/2011 12:39

I'm glad I'm not the only one on the brink of misery today! Grin
I hope it'll be better tomorrow - it's just knowing it's D-day and nothing's happening - that's the disheartening bit.

I have a friend who's a MW, and she gave the baby an eviction notice yesterday evening, and then again this morning. It's not listening to her!

PotteringAlong · 26/11/2011 13:47

Well last night my dad asked me not to tell my mum he'd rung again as she'd get cross so I suspect she's already told him to get a grip but he's carrying on regardless! He's retired and mum isn't so he's taken to ringing whilst she's at work :o

nickelbabe · 26/11/2011 13:52
Grin

bloody parents.
My mum rings every saturday, and this morning when she rang she asked me about 8 times if I would let them know when I'd had it.
no, mum, I'm not going to tell you when the baby's born. Hmm

muppetthecow · 26/11/2011 14:44

alikat I could totally go for some carrot cake about now; however having already had about half a packet of choccy digestives today I probably shouldn't Grin

I keep telling Baby how much I'm looking forward to watching Strictly tonight in the hope it might decide to arrive in the middle. It might work...

PotteringAlong · 26/11/2011 15:18

It might...! DH told ours this morning that if it was a girl and if it came today he'd consider buying it a pony... :o

muppetthecow · 26/11/2011 15:33

I think we could stretch to a My Little Pony.....

neverinamillionyears · 26/11/2011 16:17

A pony! I love it, nothing like a bit of bribery.

Just had my first proper period like type cramps low down. Moved around a bit for gravity purposes and now it has stopped. Hopefully this could be the start, lost a bit of plug last night no blood just the yucky stuff.

Playing gears of war online seems to have brought it on. Right off to play another round....

nickelbabe · 26/11/2011 16:23

that's why this baby doesn't want to leave, isn't it? :(
we have no money to buy a pony, and we've discussed openly in its earshot that we are hoping that we'll never have to do housework again (once it hits an age) and that we won't be paying it pocket money, and that it'll have to cope with the wages it gets from choir.

No wonder it doesn't want to come out. It thinks it'll be worked like a slave from day 1.

neverinamillionyears · 26/11/2011 17:27

maybe you should mention that you've had a re-think and decided on getting a cleaner.

I should have kept my mouth shut, no real proper pains in the last hour humph.

girlsyearapart · 26/11/2011 20:28

Congrats truff.

Am staying at my mums for the second night now so she can 'look after me' and have dd3 with me too.

Foot loads better can put shoe on now but cant bend my toe so think it's only that that's broken.

Dd3 not sleeping very well but generally cheery as long as she's dosed up on calpol.
Her mouth healing up well though I think the possibilty of her teeth coming back into place is remote.

So now all the drama is over I can get back to the waiting game..though if I listened to my family & friends there is not actually a day free when someone hasnt said 'don't have the baby that day cos I've got xyz to do..'

Also whoever mentioned raspberry tea did you know you can get tablets from holland & barrett?

NotJustKangaskhan · 26/11/2011 20:54

Joining in at 41 weeks today. It wouldn't be so bad if I haven't had on and off contraction practically daily that have trailed off into nothing since before 37 weeks --- then I was just hoping to get to term, now I'm hoping s/he comes out before December! The only thing that automatically sets them off is going walking (usually in awkward places - like a shopping centre on a Saturday! - not my brightest idea), but the moment I get somewhat comfortable it stops again.

PotteringAlong · 26/11/2011 21:10

I feel the need to point out here that we also have no money at all to buy this child a pony and it was a complete lie, thus breaking a fair amount of parenting rules before it's even arrived :) !

alikat724 · 27/11/2011 09:28

Sorry to hear of your false starts never and Kanga, hopefully something more substantive will kick off today for some of us at least. And glad the foot is much better girls, a broken toe is bad enough without the whole thing being buggered.

Ah bribery, I'm with you ladies! Although possibly not ponies - I come from the country, ponies are bloody hard work. Kittens are much better. I've threatened to double her rent, but it doesn't seem to have made a jot of difference. But on the plus side, DH and I had a lovely long lie-in this morning until almost 8am, and part of why it was so lovely was that it's probably going to be the last one for a VERY long while!

muppetthecow · 27/11/2011 13:30

Glad to hear the foot's looking better girls - hope DD3's teeth continue to mend.

Joining in with Kanga and never on the false-start moan; SIX HOURS of bloody contractions this morning that held steady for an over an hour at one every six minutes. Now? Nothing. :( Baby is such a cheeky little bugger tease to get my hopes up like that!

neverinamillionyears · 27/11/2011 15:12

muppet I think that would have drove me mad.
This baby has constant hiccups and keeps poking me in the wotsit. Trying not to think about labour but its so hard not to think about every movement or twinge as the start of it. Ho hum

muppetthecow · 27/11/2011 15:51

I know! Everytime I get the tiniest twinge I get excited. Come on babies! Get a move on :)

PotteringAlong · 27/11/2011 18:05

And me! It's like I'm on a state of constant alert...

Come on babypottering!

neverinamillionyears · 27/11/2011 19:42

I guess we should be enjoying our peace and quiet but I really just can't wait to see what this little one looks like and hold him/her.

No more aches today just feeling uncomfortable and bloated. Pffff

girlsyearapart · 27/11/2011 23:20

So how many of us know if it's a boy/girl?

Names picked?

Trying to be positive ..

neverinamillionyears · 28/11/2011 11:49

Don't know if its boy or girl but feeling its a girl.

Names yes, we like Niamh and Alexander but others are in the wings.

nickelbabe · 28/11/2011 11:50

oh, i can't cope with false alarms!
please don't let me have any of those!

stay out of the bath, if you get contractions - I was reading a book on homebirth experiences, and there were loads where the contractions slowed down or even stopped when they got into the bath to help with the pain.
Wink

nothing here yet - have been asked 5 times already today when the due date is . Hmm haven't gritted teeth yet, but feeling like I could be there soon.
and DH had a week's holiday last week, so has gone back to work today, which means that I've got to struggle on in the shop on my own until he finishes (after having not slept a bloody wink last night)
