I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

Truffkin · 14/11/2011 18:45

Oh Merlioness sorry you are feeling so fed up, keeping my fingers crossed that things kick off naturally before you need to be induced.

Are you able to access reflexology or acupuncture or similar to see if that works? I know it's unproven, but might help your sanity Grin

Merlioness · 15/11/2011 10:27

Thanks ladies. I do have access to reflexology and might give that a go. Serious fear of needles, so that's accupuncture out.

Yeah, induction here at 41 weeks, due to increased risks of meconium aspiration, placental issues, etc.

Quite glad that they don't do sweeps here

Hope you are both on your way soon too!

catgirl1976 · 17/11/2011 13:51

40+2 now...............anyone got any good news to cheer me up?

voodoomunkee · 17/11/2011 14:39

I had a sweep. Exciting eh! It was a chore with baby unengaging and me having to stomp about to get her back in the right position. The. Had a show and been really uncomfy since then. Nothing else happening though. So not cheery news really! 40+9!! I have got induction date too but asked to be monitored instead which they are happy to attempt.

catgirl1976 · 17/11/2011 14:44

Oh voodoo :(

Fingers crossed the sweep will work. I have one booked for Friday and been bouncing on the birthing ball.

The show does sound like good news though!

localcrackpot · 17/11/2011 16:28

Good luck everyone- baby Crackpot was born at 40+11 at home (details on Stretch & Sweep thread on Pregnancy).
Thinking of you all - hope they come soon!

Dawnywoo · 17/11/2011 18:14

Congrats and welcome baby Crackpot.

I'm 40+1 and have had loads of period pains / lower back pain for weeks. Seem to ramp up every night then tail off again. I'm starting to feel like i'm going mad - poor DP thinks 'this is it' every bloody night.

Maybe it's trapped wind or something instead? Agh, I don't know...

Good vibes to everyone x

catgirl1976 · 17/11/2011 18:16

Congratulations crackpot - lovely news! Will look on the other thread for details - hope you are enjoying your new arrival

Dawnywoo - I feel your pain :(

voodoomunkee · 17/11/2011 19:33

Local, congrats! Just read your thread today. Great news :)

Have got what I think are irregular contractions for most of the afternoon and even after a soak in the bath they are still coming. Not enough to make me think baby is imminent but hey you know!

Catgirl and dawny am totally feeling your pain!

Truffkin · 17/11/2011 22:32

Hope this is it for you Voodoo good luck!

Due date for me tomorrow and already fed up if having to say 'no news' when people keep phoning. They are just excited but I feel like a massive let down each time. Am trying evening primrose and pineapple tomorrow. No joy from reflexology so far this week.

It can't be too much longer, that's my up side Grin

Merlioness · 18/11/2011 04:16

Congrats crackpot!
Dawny sorry :(

Nothing new here. Woke up with contractions last night and got so excited. They tailed off and I couldn't sleep all night waiting for them to come back. Well, after today's OB appointment, Baby's not engaged and cervix tightly shut at 39+2. After next week's check it will be either section, or induction depending on the cervix. Oh well, at least there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope you're on your way voodoo

catgirl1976 · 18/11/2011 08:14

Ah Merlioness - sorry nothings moving :( - Sending you positive thoughts

I am off to the MW for my 1st sweep so I am sure that will be fun! Wish me luck

voodoomunkee · 18/11/2011 10:04

Goodluck cat. Wasn't that bad when I went.
Contractions were really ramping up last night and most of the night but now very little.
Achy and still bits of show. Need something to happen! Resting up on the settee today and going to order a Chinese and eat chocolate and watch children in need tonight.
Hope everyone is well :)

catgirl1976 · 18/11/2011 10:16

Sweep was just uncomfortable, not painful.

Am joining you on the sofa today voodoo. Currently eating chocolate and watching Relocation, Relocation

Everything crossed for you! :)

voodoomunkee · 18/11/2011 10:19

Oh I'm scraping the barrel tv wise and watching jezza. It's about all my frazzled brain can cope with!

catgirl1976 · 18/11/2011 10:27

Ha - I have watched too much of it this week - I will be wanting a DNA test and a lie detector before long- thought Kirsty and Phil might be restorative :) Am just watching a family trying to decide on a £750k Jacobean Manor and not feeling very sorry for their dilemma :)

catgirl1976 · 18/11/2011 10:47

Oh my Bishops Score was 3 on the sweep :( pretty rubbish :(

voodoomunkee · 18/11/2011 12:33

Gosh I didn't even get told what mine was. MW wasn't hopeful the sweep would work. I am just wondering what can be classed as not working! Still getting pains and blood (sorry tmi) but nothing unbearable. Have had a few hours sleep so shall try and potter about for the rest of the afternoon before my dc's come home from school and see what happens.
I have just realised I need a life, Richard o'brien on bargain hunt in aid of children in need seems a nearly appealing proposition! Haha.

nickelbabe · 18/11/2011 12:37

yeah, I've been getting the period pains for ages now.
(38+6 today)
no lower back pain, but god is it uncomfortable to sit in the same place for long!

congrats crackpot - hope you're enjoying your cuddles!

everyone keeps asking me if i can't wait for it to be born. I'm sticking with, "i really want the baby, but I'm enjoying this bit because I don't want the baby to come out" - like everyone's so excited about the baby they're not considering the practicality of the BIRTH!

Merlioness · 18/11/2011 12:59

Oh ladies :(
Hope the sofa days are not too bed. I crawled into bed after my appointment and stayed there all day :)
nickel those are annoying, aren't they? Hope everyone will be on their way soon

Truffkin · 18/11/2011 15:27

So happy due date to me! Nothing happening, have spent the day surfing the internet (and trying not to spend money!) and fielding calls from people asking 'any news?' by replying 'yes, the baby arrived a week ago but we haven't got round to telling anyone' Grin

My TV guilty pleasure is '16 & pregnant' on MTV, every day at 2pm! I'm working my way through a pineapple, although not massively confident it will have any impact. We're planning to go into town to the winter wonderland at Hyde Park on Sunday so sod's law, that's when the baby will decide to put in an appearance. I'd be happy with that though, we could then go next weekend with our brand new baby in the carrier for a family Christmas outing! (you see how in my brain, the baby arrives and we still carry on with our normal plans, like nothing has changed Wink)

Nickel funnily enough, I'm not worried about giving birth at all and really haven't had any panic or 'oh shit' moments. Maybe I am very strange as lots of people have asked me if I'm nervous so it's clearly a very usual worry.

nickelbabe · 18/11/2011 15:34

yeah, I'm doing that with plans too!
advent carol service next sunday, (day after due date), 9 lessons and carols on the 21st dec, midnight mass, etc.
I'm planning to go to my dance class next thursday as usual
Grin

voodoomunkee · 18/11/2011 16:09

Dance class! Eek!
I too plan to keep to plans I have made, it's my 3rd so it clearly isn't implausible, either that or my pg brain is severely affecting my memory.

nickelbabe · 18/11/2011 16:40
Grin

it's only bellydancing - and that's good practice for labour....

catgirl1976 · 18/11/2011 16:41

dance that baby out nickel :)
