I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

Back on this thread still - 40+1 today and feeling like cr**p, woke up with headache and feels like I'm coming down with a cold (or maybe this is a sign of labour

I think I am too tired to give birth today [hhmm] so maybe sometime later tonight? Can u hear that baby? no, she's too busy kicking both sides of my bump simultaneously [hangry]

Beesok · 18/10/2011 15:03

Came back for another moan before I upset someone in RL :(
Anyone fed up of the "updates pls" emails, bbms, texts and FB messages?????
I just snappped at my sister after getting them all morning (it wasn't her fault - she just came at the end [hblush]

Obviously I appreciate the people care and they are taking an interest but today esp with the way am feeling (headache, blocked nose and exhausted) it's getting on my nerves - a friend kept bbming and I just quickly replied "am taking a nap" (which I was!) and she.....continued to message me [hconfused]

OK, rant over. Now baby come out [hgrin]

oldboy · 19/10/2011 09:43

I am 40+5 and completly fed up midwife attempted a sweep last friday but couldn't continue as baby to high :(

whackamole · 19/10/2011 12:05

Oh no Oldboy that's not good!

Only my dad is constantly calling to ask if 'anything's happening' Beesok - then he doesn't want to hear what is happening!

Having period type pains since last night, hoping against hope this is things starting to get going. Lost the plug this morning, was a very strange sensation! I guess at least I know I am dilating - a bit, anyway.

Have called MW this morning but she must have a day off coz her phone is off. I was going to ask if she could examine me, only because I'm home alone with the other children today so can't get to the hospital to have them do it (well I guess I can but I really don't want to have to!)

Come on baby, we all want to meet you, mum's bag is ready so hurry up and be born!

I really want to get this baby going. I'm sick of throwing up. I'm so knackered now I mostly lie down. Can't bake or do entertaining things. Sick of chocolate (FFS!) Feeling rather grumpy and I could have another 4 weeks if I went to 42. If anyone texts me for an update I will be very crudely saying "BABY STILL UP MY CHUFF". In fact she is everywhere my internal organs used to be, trying to demolish my ribs. I've been sooooo good. I've waited. I've thrown up. I cancelled my offroading session with Land Rover in the first trimester [hsad]. You could count the alcoholic units I've consumed this pregnancy on fingers, probably on one hand. I didn't even have a proper brew for months. I want my baaaaaaby. I'm now more impatient than nervous about giving birth.

Everyone says when I ring them "oh, I thought you were going to say you were in labour!" No, sorry, just me. Ringing you like I always have before. Not to say "oh - I'm in tremendous pain. Just thought I'd say hi. Please ring me every 15 minutes and I'll tell you how I'm doing."

Bless DH, though, he's always waiting to run home from work and help me get this baby out. If I ring him he does the "How ARE you?!" thing as well, but it's his baby so I can forgive him.

Last night I even hauled myself off the sofa to do some xbox dance central in the hope of jiggling her out. This shows the extent of my feelings now - I'm more than half dead and wondering about that Ministry of Sound workout DVD. Dance central didn't work but it did make me vomit quite a bit. Tchuh.
Come on, baby!

mumblejumble · 19/10/2011 13:36

Oh hope you don't have to wait too long Local and Whack. (doesn't that sound like a pub?Grin)
I am still having the same old niggly period pains at 38 weeks today.
I could go on like this for another two weeks. I haven't properly packed my bag, or finished the knitting I have started.
MIL is phoning every hour Hmm had to unplug the phone yesterday evening after the dc had gone to bed to get some peace, dh's orders. Plus being selective with answering mobiles.
Good luck everyone!

Allboxedin · 19/10/2011 16:31

Can they induce you oldboy if they can't do sweep?
I have one on friday :(

I'm 40 weeks today. 2 year old dd had asthma attack on monday and I had to call an ambulance so we were rushed in sirens and all to A and E. She was admitted and we just got out this Wednesday lunchtime. Absolutely exhausted. Thank goodness baby stayed where it was. Nigtmare!

Beesok · 19/10/2011 17:00

Allboxedin hope your DD is feeling better - that must have been so stressful! Bet you were grateful labour didn't start then.

I had a sweep today - MW was lovely and it felt quite comfortable (I was dreading it as never had one before) and she said that my cervix is "favourable"! She is expecting things to get a move on sometime this week and has got me really excited now! I booked an acupuncture session on Friday which, fingers crossed, maybe I won't need :)

Local and Whack hope it gets going soon for you guys! My parents and PIL have actually been pretty good :) they haven't called - they know me by now I guess hehehehe but I spoke to my mum on Monday and she knows I'll update her as soon as anything happens (they all live abroad so I kind of see how they would love to hear updates).

My friends driving me nuts though - bbms at 7:00 am ffs?!?! And the two of them have kids and one is pregnant with 2nd so they should know better!! Oh well - mobile is on silent anyway :) and I am getting into a zen mode (with the help of some sweet treats) :)

Allboxedin · 19/10/2011 17:34

Thanks Beesok, I'm glad your sweep went ok. I have been dreading it, so it's good to hear a good story :)

xlatia · 22/10/2011 16:57

i'm back too, exactly 40+7 today, sweep two days ago didn't help at all... am so with the "everyone keeps calling" rant. just switched off the mobile, serves nosy friends right. they'll now be wondering if i'm not answering because i'm in labour or because i'm just fed up with them :o
on a more positive note, rewarded me with an hour of reflexology yesterday, utter bliss! didn't get things going obv, but it was heavenly relaxing!

good luck to everyone :)

Pinkiemum · 22/10/2011 17:14

39 weeks today, not doing to bad baby is not allowed to come until at least tomorrow night as that is when my mil comes from Denmark to look after my daughter.

Want to sleep all day but can't at night, have lots of Braxten Hicks and can't stand up for too long as I end up in pain. I hope the baby comes by next weekend as although I love my mil I think I will go crazy if she ends up staying here for more than two weeks, Fil is coming once the baby is born although I think they will go to stay in B&B if they can once it is born.

Liabella · 22/10/2011 17:23

I'm with you! I'm due today and nothing's happening!

My blood pressure was high last week and the baby was 3/5 engaged on Tuesday, but by Thursday, when I had to go back to have my BP checked, the baby had completely disengaged Sad So now I have to see another midwife on Monday (mine is on half term with her children) and if the baby still isn't engaged, I have to be refered to a consultant.

And I had planned a homebirth - hoping this little one gets moving over the weekend before doctors have to start being involved.

Tried pineapple, DTD, bouncing on the ball, raspberry leaf tea, clary sage baths... none of it is doing anything!

TheRealMBJ · 22/10/2011 21:45

Can I join? I think RL is getting fed up with my complaining. I'm 40+3 and feel shit. At least my heartburn has gone and it now feels as if DD is hanging out of my fanjo. Which must be good signs, no?

Nothing else yet. Am starting to really worry about having two under two (DS is 22 months) and have a tooth ache Sad

Have tried EVERYTHING numerous times (except castor oil - am not that desperate yet). Just feel really, really sorry for myself SadSadSad

localcrackpot · 22/10/2011 22:21

Thanks all and good wishes for speedy deliveries to you too! I went for lovely afternoon tea 1hr30 by car from home today and started having some significant pressure/pain, tum went hard - we were very excited, but that seems to be it. I keep getting bits of jellyish mucus but not much at once and no blood tinge so humph.
Realising that this might just be the start of 38+3 variety BH and I could have another 4 weeks to go sucks! Had hellish vomiting last night, only saved by the bucket by the bed- was sure it must be the start of labour because of the violence of it, but no such luck. Going for more dance central, hopefully to be followed by DTD later!

Thinking of you all and wishing you LABOUR!

Beesok · 23/10/2011 00:26

Hi guys, am back for a moan because I am tooooo booooored to even bore my poor husband (who has been taking it really well I must say!)
Am 40+6 and FED UP! Had period cramps all night and got super excited only to wake up with headache (because I didn't get enough sleep) and NOTHING :(

Sweep on Wednesday went well and MW said cervix was favourable and said to try acupuncture which I did on Friday but so far I think it only helped with the heartburn (the therapist put in some needles for that after I complained about it)....have a sweep at hospital on Monday but am hoping I won't make it til then....I want my baby now! (and my body back please :)

Hope you all get going soon too and we'll have a happy birth announcements thread! :)

mumblejumble · 23/10/2011 00:54

Well I am up. I don't know why. I fell asleep at 7ish,(persuading dd to sleep in her bed) woke up around an hour ago with a sort of pain very low down and need to visit bathroom. Am now getting period pains again, which seem to be coming and going. But based on past experience this could go on for a couple of days for me. I really should go back to sleep, but am wide awake. So might get some food (am starving) and mooch around on tinterweb for a bit.
Dh is home tomorrow, so could have a lie-in. Poor guy is really panicking that I haven't packed my bags, and is making sure to keep tank full of diesel. I really do not want to wake him, or say anything about signs unless it is all systems go.

Spinosaur · 23/10/2011 08:11

Hi, I am due tomorrow with DC3. I have had two major false alarms where I put the tens on and started to organise babysitting for the other 2. DH rang my mum and put her on alert, her response was to ask if we would be back by 3.30pm and was most put out that we could not predict that all would be done and dusted on time for her appointment. Smile As a result, we are making sure we have a wider range of people available for emergencies! I am very fed up and eating too much. It all started off again yesterday after a longish walk. I may try again today. Please come out baby. My first was induced and that was not great, my second came very swiftly at 38 weeks and I had convinced myself the same would happen this time. Wishful thinking.

ALotToTakeIn · 23/10/2011 11:41

I'm due tomorrow as well Spinosaur had lots of cramping last night and went to bed really excited that it might be kicking off but here I am this morning still pregnant and still quite grump to be honest. But made a yummy fry up and hot chocolate for breakfast less grumpy now Grin
B and SIL turning up from south africa on thursday and really hoping baby is here before then, a. so they get lots of visiting time in as wont see them again for another year after this, and b. i really want a few days just me DH and bump before I feel obliged to let everyone else in to visit.
Long walk and pineapple coming up ...

TheRealMBJ · 23/10/2011 12:38

ALot my mum is here from SA for the birth and came a week before EDD. And as DS arrived at 38+6 I was convinced we would already be luxuriating in newborn snuggles. Sad

whackamole · 23/10/2011 14:46

Just to let you all know, baby Nathan was born 12:49pm Friday 21st, 8lb 6oz and 39+6.

Super quick labour, started about 5am, rang hospital at 8am to say contractions were about 6-7 mins apart, by the time I got there at 9am they were 2 mins apart and didn't stop!

Small second degree tear, but was home by 6pm with my gorgeous baby boy Grin

Good luck to all you ladies, hope things start moving swiftly for you!
