I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

I do like pinapple normally but wouldnt eat so much of it :) according to the pack I had 4 of my 5 a day right there! Does it count if its all one fruit?

catgirl1976 · 31/10/2011 17:16

Well I didnt make it to M&S for my chocolate pretzels.

Started walking and about 10 minutes in got the most horrible shooting pain through my groin. Had to get DH to come and get me.

Phone midwife who said - baby pressing on a nerve. It will go.

It has gone- feel like a silly panicker and have no chocolate pretzels to console myself with.

Merlioness · 01/11/2011 00:50

Oh deary me! I missed all the chocolate, cookies and pineapple!

waves to Nov thread ladies

Heartburn...mine doesn't seem to stop...ever! Even drinking water triggers it and Gaviscon no longer helps as well as it used to. Meh :(

Been feeling really achy and can't shake this silly sore throat and cough...aargh!

I also can't stop eating lately. I've gone from zero appetite to never really not munching on something!

Can I also moan about this baby? How can such a tiny creature have such strength that it feels as if he is breaking my ribcage open?!

Phew, feel so much better

natwebb79 · 01/11/2011 07:08

41 weeks today. Urgh! Sad

Katiebeau · 01/11/2011 08:20

Today's biscuits are controversial, Jaffa Cakes!!!

Officially overdue. I'm not a late person. Ever.

I really feel for you Nat. This waiting stinks!!! I have exploded in size the past 2 weeks. Bump is just massive. Will I ever see my ankle and feet bones again????

banana87 · 01/11/2011 09:57

37 weeks! Full term! Having a sweep tonight...if my cervix is closed can they still do it? I've read mixed things about that. Just really hope it doesn't hurt, though I suppose I better get used to pain Confused

Hugs to those of you who are overdue!

Keep eating pineapple (and raspberry leaf tea!).

Merlioness · 01/11/2011 10:02

I feel for you nat and Katie :(
Hope things get going soon.

No idea banana, but I hope that they can still do the sweep. Fingers crossed for a dilating cervix for you

voodoomunkee · 01/11/2011 10:03

I don't think they can of the cervix is closed but as have never had a sweep I'll suggest someone will have better knowledge than me! I have one booked a week tomorrow (at 40 weeks).
Merlioness, water hurts me too. Just slightly dilutes the pain.
Katie, you can have whichever biscuits you choose today. Tis only fair! I've bought a French stick, it looks and smells beautiful and I know it is going to kill me but i am determined to have some. I'll regret it.
Who wants to share some pineapple? Really really don't fancy it.
Off to clean things, it isn't a normal setting for me this obessive cleaning so am hopeful it is indicative of something to come!
Have a good day all :)

Katiebeau · 01/11/2011 10:15

Sadly my obsessive elimination of any limescale in our bathroom was followed by a migraine. DH has removed all cleaning stuff into his car and does what's needed in the evening. He won't let me clean.

Oh Voodoo and Mersionlioness I really feel for you re the heartburn. It's bloody awful. We should suck it up because we are pregnant (according to MWs) but people go to A&E with it thinking they are having a heart attack it's so painful!!!!! Zantac/ranitidine is worth trying as I said. It might mean you can enjoy that French stick. I'm off to the Co op for their Tiger bread now.

Just had flu jab. Need comfort food despite not actually feeling it!! Grin

Up I get to waddle off........

voodoomunkee · 01/11/2011 10:39

Katie please don't take away this shred of hope! Haha! I hate cleaning, it is my dream to have a cleaner become house trained. OH is next to useless, mammy spoilt him. I berate him instead!
Don't mention limescale, my kettle is shocking. If I thought it would withstand it I would scrub it inside.
Enjoy your bread :)

Merlioness · 01/11/2011 11:04

Yum yum tiger bread. I'm starving!

Unfortunately no Zantac/Ranitidine in Singapore as far as I could see :(

Meh. I wish I fancied cleaning. I feel so bad for just wanting to lie in bed al day. Doesn't help that I can barely sleep with stupid sore throat and cough.

Oh well, will see what food I can find ;)

catgirl1976 · 01/11/2011 12:12

Ooh I fancy som tiger bread now. I have just eaten, 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 hash browns and a chocolate eclair Blush

I'm going to pay for that I think

Been to midwife today - she said in her experience boys are in no hurry to come out :(

voodoomunkee · 01/11/2011 13:08

Ha, I've had one of each and they were both late! Sorry! They did come out before the induction date though.
Ok so I've had bread and as yet no heartburn that I can't manage. Yay! I've also had a hot chocolate. Am feeling rather full and have had to lie down. Might have a nap. This is the best thing about mat leave I think!

banana87 · 01/11/2011 16:33

Jealous of those of you who can nap in the day! I've been up with DD since 8 (I know, not bad really) and then a playdate and we just got home! Knackered! Have consultant in 2 hours and am dreading the sweep...need to go to Sainsburys for a huge punnet of pineapple!!

tinky19 · 01/11/2011 17:20

hello babana87
i'm having sweeps from 38 weeks (still just 35 +2 weeks at the mo so feels a life time away)
Hope it goes well. I've asked but nobody seems to know the chances of earlier sweeps working. Please let us know how it goes.

voodoomunkee · 01/11/2011 17:33

I never thought I would say this but am jealous of those having sweeps early! My mw will only do them from 40 weeks. I slept for 2 and a bit hours and was shattered when woke up. Don't feel any better for it either.
Hope the consultant appt goes well.

banana87 · 01/11/2011 21:10

Well apparently it was a "good sweep". But that means nothing. 1cm dilated, but that means nothing either. So fingers crossed the sweep works. He will try again next week. Good thing is that the more dilated I am the less lengthy the induction will be :) So hoping she comes before that!

DH being a prat tonight. They really don't get it do they?? Grrrrr....

tinky19 · 01/11/2011 22:19

pleased to hear it was 'good' banana No, dh don't get it sometimes,my dh couldn't unerstand why i wasn't thrilled at the prospect of driving ds (18mo) to mw to have sweep then look after him for the rest of the day - Hmm
voodoo I'm only getting sweeps as ds was 16 days late Shock and induction didn't really work. Ended in emcs so they think this is my best chance for vbac. They're planning on doing 3 between 38 and 39 weeks! Hope yours pops out naturally soon!

voodoomunkee · 02/11/2011 07:59

Tinky, popping out would be lovely thanks! Glad sweep went ok, really hope it does make it better/easier for you.
Banana no, sometimes I think men really do have no clue. There have been times in this pregnancy where I could have cheerfully murdered him. Vice versa as well though I think. Fingers crossed today is a better day!
Well dtd seems to have had no effect at all. I was hopeful. Will gp take the dog for a longer walk. Not that I can walk very far without my back giving out and being stuck on the settee for a day. The only real issue I have had health wise this pg is my back. I know am very very lucky! Girls don't seem to effect me like my ds did.
Come on labour vibes for everyone!

Kat311011 · 02/11/2011 13:11

Hi All

Back on line after giving birth :) He came on Sunday on his due date.

Waters broke at 2.50am and started to get contractions, so had shower and started with Tens, went into be checked and irregular contractions they sent us home until contractions were every 3 mins or so and about 1 min long.
So went home till 5.30am went back and they checked me and said 2 cm dilated and could go home or stay in ante natal ward. I felt more secure at the hospital so stayed, they said to have a bath and so stayed in bath for about 3 hours, by the end of the 3 hours was in alot of pain and felt like needed to push. So they got me out and offerred me pethedine as in alot of pain but had to check me first. She let me have some gas and air and checked me, then said we need to get you to the labour work now as you are fully dilated, so didn't get the pethdine and they took the gas and air off me, got me onto a wheelchair and raced me through, Evidently I tried to snatch the pethedine injection off of the trolley and tried grabbing at the gas and air. Got to the labour ward and was allowed more gas and air so took in load, 25 mins later of pushing and he was out born at 12.10pm.
I had pushed his head out and then the contraction stopped and my husband said it was very strange as head was out and looking at him and the midwife until next contraction then out he came onto my chest.

The labour was quicker than we expected, stayed in hospital for help with feeding and enjoying being home now.

Hope there is lots more good news due from you all soon x :o

catgirl1976 · 02/11/2011 13:20
