I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

Congratulations Kat!

After a night up with a sore tummy, I am now losing my plug. Hoping upon hoping this means it can happen anytime!

catgirl1976 · 03/11/2011 14:30

oooooh good luck banana! that sounds promising..everything crosed for you!

squinker45 · 03/11/2011 14:32

Can I join in? am 40+5 today.... it's been great watching the thread so far, especially when people actually give birth. Fed Up. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

PS not had any sweeps, raspberry leaf tea or pineapple. Or sex. Can't bear the thought of any of it. Someone suggested clary sage to me today maybe I will try that....

jandanaligazan · 03/11/2011 14:38

I feel your pain. I've been there, and its no fun.

Maybe this will be a welcome distraction? Just reading about poor women in Kenya who often have 10 pregnancies and are pretty much pregnant or breastfeeding their whole adult lives!

pregnancyandchildbirtharoundtheworld.blogspot.com/2011/10/pregnant-or-breastfeeding-for-30-years.html

At least you won't have to do that. Does that make you feel better or more grumpy?!

Also on same website interesting stuff (which I wish I'd known about before it was too late) about getting stomach back to normal after its all over.

Good luck!

voodoomunkee · 03/11/2011 17:38

Hey all. I am sick of having stomach ache, back ache etc and nothing happening! Ouch.

lktoday5 · 03/11/2011 18:26

If one more person asks me if she's arrived yet I may well scream... Am I a bad person? Angry

squinker45 · 03/11/2011 19:35

I might stop going out as everyone I meet says, 'Oh you're still here then'. Yes, I am. Grr.

voodoomunkee · 03/11/2011 20:15

Lk and Squinker, I hear you ladies! Rang a friend tonight and she had a chat, just as I thought id got away with it she says 'so no pains, nothing? God how long can you wait'..... Jesus am not even 40 weeks! Sob. Thing is she's a work colleague so I had put in the calendar 'don't ring voodoo, she may kill you'.....

catgirl1976 · 03/11/2011 21:41

Oh I am right with you. No I have not had him yet as you can plainly see. Yes if he is two weeks late it could be neatly a month. No that isn't funny

Beesok · 04/11/2011 00:55

Sorry to hear that some of you are still suffering "the wait" :(

I finally had my baby girl on Friday - she's a week old today and this is the first time I actually have time to post on MN :) We are totally in love with her and enjoying every moment through the exhaustion :)

My labour can be described in one word - horrendous :( in a nutshell 48 hrs of agony ending in c-section and 4 nights in hospital - but all totally worth it!!!!!

Merlioness · 04/11/2011 04:56

bananas Good luck!

beesok congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Sorry you had such an awful labour, but I hope you're recovering well.

Nothing happening here as far as I can tell, though I think I may have had my first contraction last night. Just the one though. Appointment today showed a baby that isn't engaged, but rather chubby.

I have been unable to sleep lately and it's killing me. And the sore throat/cough with it :(

voodoomunkee · 04/11/2011 05:47

Aww congrats Beesok! Sorry to hear it was a rough time of it. True what they say isn't it, you forget as soon as you have them though!
Merlioness, you still have that cough and cold? Have you got some vitamins? :( you seem to have had it ages.
Am up way too early but have technically have had about eight hours sleep so can't complain!

Merlioness · 04/11/2011 09:11

Meh voodoo, yep...still got it. For over a week now! Just can't seem to shake it :(
I have my prenatal vitamins and I am eating loads of fresh fruit, but nothing helps.

Anyhow, sorry to whinge, as you've had a worse time of it lately than I

Beesok · 04/11/2011 12:53

Thanks Mer and Voodoo yeah it's been rough getting her into this world, she was 41+4 and then I got contractions on Wednesday night which quickly progressed to painful ones but very erratic and after 14 hrs of pain I was still 2cm, MW suspected awkward positioning, hospital admitted me and gave me diamorphine first - 4 hrs later and still 2cm they gave me epidural and started induction, that went on until Friday morning when I finally got a c-section - in the mean time my temp shot up, my pulse went crazy so they had to do a CTG on me and baby's heart rate went sky rocketing, through 3 shifts of drs the last one was a complete d* and almost sulked when I decided enough is enough and wanted a section - but he did a good job and scar healed already.
I actually was falling asleep throughout the c-section from exhaustion, drugs, nausea - it was horrible lying there thinking I am missing the birth of my baby, thank god my hubby was there and he gave her cuddles and talked to her - I only got to hold later but she breast fed immediately. All is well now and we are loving it, she is a gorgeous and peaceful baby and yes, the incredible joy makes up for any pain I had.
Sorry for long post - wanted to get it out of my system :)

Good Luck and hope to see your birth announcements soon1

waitingforskinnyjeanstofit · 04/11/2011 14:52

I'm joining you lot...40+3 and really quite bored as DS1 was early so expected this one to be as well (silly me).

Although it is good to hear that people are having their babies (eventually!) and I guess it really wont be long.

Kat311011 · 04/11/2011 15:11

Congratulations Beesok, sorry to hear you had a tough time but I know it was worth it, hope you are enjoying lots of cuddle time now and that you aren't too sore and recovering well. Hope the feeding it going ok for you, I am settling into it now xxx :)

Pinkiemum · 04/11/2011 18:38

Congratulations Beesok, sorry to hear it went so bad for you. Feel bad telling you how easy it was to deliver my little boy this morning.

Little William Henning arrived this morning after a very short labour, just under three hours weighing 4.305kg ( so not so very little) he didn't fit into the newborn outfit we had taken to the hospital. Can't believe how different it was to my first. Today was actually my original due date, I always new they were wrong when they changed it.

Merlioness · 06/11/2011 12:53

Oh Beesok that sounds awful! Glad that your scar is healing though and that you and your daughter are well.

Congratulations Pinkie. What a gorgeous name William Henning has. Hope you too are recovering well and getting lots of nice baby cuddles

catgirl1976 · 06/11/2011 13:00

Congratulations Beesok and Pinkie :)

Anyone else getting any closer? It is stories of other women having thier babies that is keeping me going! Part of me doesnt believe this baby is coming out!

squinker45 · 06/11/2011 16:35

Aw congrats to all those who have delivered! 41+2 now. Can't be much longer surely? am waddling around like a very annoyed duck.

voodoomunkee · 06/11/2011 18:20

Congrats pinkie!
Beesok, most important thing is that you are both well and able to get on with your new lives!
Ok I need to scream. I'm 40 weeks on weds, have a sweep booked but not going to be able to go for it as dd's bday is Thursday. Can't possibly risk it!
I am so so so sick of being pregnant. I'm either tired or bursting with energy, unable to eat or like this weekend, starving! OH isn't very well. I'm bored of not doing anything, want to wear some jeans and a top that isn't voluminous. Arrgghhhh! Back to sitting in the house waiting for nothing to happen whilst dc's are at school and OH is at work and so are my friends and family. I feel generally hacked off. Im frightened to go too far in the car and also skint. I could honestly cry with frustration!
Sorry for the rant but I had to get it out!
How's everyone else?

Merlioness · 06/11/2011 23:46

cat yep, me. I'm still able to "forget" that I am pregnant at times! 37+5 here and he isn't even engaging!

voodoo sorry you're having a rough time :( Have you moved the sweep to Friday?
As a FTM, could I ask if you just get a feeling that you don't want to stray far from home, or is that your conscious decision?
Hopefully your DD's birthday distracts you a little and that your OH recovers.

Well, as I said, nothing moving here at all. The stoopid cold/cough isn't either. I've had it for almost 2 weeks now. Bleurgh! At least I seem to be able to sleep for now again, so won't be complaining...too much Wink

Beesok · 07/11/2011 03:00

Greetings from the breast feeding twilight zone! Thanks everyone and yes I agree voodoo - it's all over and my LO is def, making up for it! Even with the lack of sleep am so happy, baby is actually quite peaceful - she let me sleep 3 hrs straight last night so can't complain!

Hope you guys get going soon - know the feeling, I delivered one day before my induction :)
I wanna see baby announcement here next time I log in!!!

Mer hope your cold gets better - now that must really suck!
Congrats Pinkie and no - don't feel bad, no one should have a labour like mine, glad yours went so smoothly and hope you're enjoying your little one!

Thanks Kat actually bf is going super well (touch wood it stays this way) my MW said that after my horrible labour something is bound to go right and that she hopes bf will be a breeze for me and she was right! I actually really enjoy it :)

voodoomunkee · 07/11/2011 06:53

Merlioness, nope my mw doesn't work Fridays. It will have to be a week on Weds. If baby could just see her way clear to coming today... Haha. I don't know why I dont want to go to far, probably cos it would be only own and am 40 weeks tomorrow. Think that's putting me off. Plus haven't really got anywhere in particular to head off to. Glad your cough etc is easing a bit.
Gosh it's icy today. Cars are all frozen outside. Eek!
Beesok, lovely to hear you are getting some sleep, gives us all hope!
Might ring my midwife today. Am starting to panic baby isn't wriggling as much even though I know she is just running out of space! Will ask her what can do re the sweep.
Did have a lot of what I think must have been braxton hicks last night. Bump was rock solid, backache and some pains round my bump. Tiring spending all your time waiting for something to happen isn't it!

Merlioness · 07/11/2011 15:00

Oh gosh yes voodoo! I told my DH how frustrating it is that I am waiting for something that I have no idea what it feels like to kickstart at some point, which I have no idea when! I am normally a bit of a control freak, so this is absolute torture :(

Beesok fantastic about BFing going well and a baby that seems to sleep ok and is happy :)
