I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

Congrats Whackamole! Speedy labour and speedy home, shall be attempting to follow in your footsteps so to speak!
How's everyone else doing (preparing for onslaught of fedupness now!)

localcrackpot · 23/10/2011 19:50

Fed up but only 38+4 so can't complain with a great deal of legitimacy! Not that I let that put me off [hwink]

ALotToTakeIn · 23/10/2011 22:25

Congratulations whackamole

voodoomunkee · 23/10/2011 22:29

Local I'm not even 38 weeks yet and I don't let it put me off either Grin
what's the thing people are most looking forward to having/doing when no longer pg? I want a vodka! Ha. Or at least some ice cold wine and some french bread. Both of which cripple me heartburn wise at the moment.

WARNING: Major rant alert Blush

Am so fed up it's not even funny :( yesterday spent 2 hrs at hospital on CTG because I was worried about reduced movements all day (baby is fine thankfully) but since I had an appt for today for sweep (am 41 wks today) they asked if I minded a sweep yesterday and I agreed - 2 MWs tried to do it and both said my cervix is completely closed and far back :( on Wednesday it was favourable!!
Now I have to go in at 10:00 for another CTG (they're not worried they just want to monitor baby again) a scan and possibly a sweep. They also started talking about an induction in 72 hrs which I do not want - I really really wanted to go to Birthing Centre and try to have a non instrumental delivery possibly using a pool which I am assuming will not be possible if I am to be induced :(

On top of that I am getting a constant barrage of txt messages and phone calls asking if baby is here and it's really pissing me off - I have tried to subtly hint to the worst "offenders" to stop but they are not getting the message....

My hubby is getting a cold which a) hope he doesn't pass on to me b) doesn't stop him from being able to go to labour ward :(

OK Rant Over. Thanks for listening ladies and sorry for the negativity! :(

TheRealMBJ · 24/10/2011 09:07

Aw Beesok I know how you feel. I'm 41 weeks tomorrow and am FED UP. Am trying to get through to the mw as we speak to ask for a sweep today instead of tomorrow. I can't take it anymore.

outthere · 24/10/2011 09:21

Hi Whackamole - I'm 35+2 and have two 3 year olds (also boys!) so I can truly empathise with how you're feeling!!

My stretch marks are getting worse every day; I didn't sleep at all last night - every time I move it makes my back scream from the effort; I keep getting pins and needles; turning into a hairy yetti; keep having violent nightmares and bad dreams about the birth; sick to death of having absolutely NO patience for anyone Sad and generally getting fed up and wondering if my body will EVER be the same again.

Just off to Sainsbury's with both children to do a weekly shop... I REALLY can't be bothered, I'm so tired.

Anyway, just wanted to add my whinge (and say that I'm completely jealous of those few weeks you have ahead of me!!) Good luck!

Spinosaur · 24/10/2011 10:25

Am due today, come on baby! Am very fed up, wasn't offered a sweep with DC1, just straight to induction and rude doctors on labour ward. 2nd was a breeze, nearly delivered in the lift and was pushed through the middle of a tour group on my hands and knees Grin. Rather stupidly thought this would be the same deal, still waiting and only BH to show for things at the moment. Am making cheesecake this afternoon to help distract myself :)

outthere · 24/10/2011 13:07

In my irritated, pregnant brained fug I didn't see that baby whackamole's already here! Congratulations!

Beesok · 24/10/2011 16:06

Thanks TheRealMBJ :) did you manage to get your sweep?
I had an awful MW appt basically she got my dates wrong and insisted that I HAVE to get induced on Friday as I will be 41+6 (actually I will be 41+4 [hhmm]) and proceeded to outline the whole procedure focusing on the worst possible outcomes ie you'll probably have to stay at the hosp for 48hrs, it will be long and you'll DEF need an epidural at 4 cm etc etc etc - I literally sat there holding back my tears, and she was so rough with the sweep! She's like, nope your cervix is too far back, slim chance of going into labour etc etc when the scan just half an hour earlier showed that my cervix had actually shortened and I have an 86% chance of going into labour naturally within the week....

I am SO GLAD I have an independent MW and called her as soon as I got out of that hospital - she calmed me down and got an action plan in place but it's put a damper on the whole thing and now I am even more terrified of the birth which obviously won't help me relax so not good ....am going to try and take a warm bath and watch a stupid movie and really really hope this little stubborn baby decided to make a move soon! :(

Am so grateful for Mumsnet - even typing it all out helps!!

Hope everyone else who is still in limbo get's going soon

Beesok · 24/10/2011 16:07

sorry for typos :)

TheRealMBJ · 24/10/2011 16:45

Oh dear Beesok she sounds awful Sad

What a bitch. I hate it when they 'forget' that we are the ones in charge and calling the shots, not them!

I did get my sweep. My mw was lovely, really positive Smile I am booked tentatively for induction on Monday (40+13) but had my sweep and she says my cervix is very favourable 3cm dilated, 1cm long etc. I have also been told to go back on Thurs/Fri for a repeat sweep but she doesn't think I'll need it.

I do have the feeling she was trying to cheer me up. But after hearing your experience Bee I'm glad tht is the attitude she took.

Beesok · 24/10/2011 16:51

Glad you had a positive experience! and sounds really promising so keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you!!

My IMW is absolutely lovely and she is the one I am listening too - but because of my scan etc I had to see the hospital MW today and luck of the draw I got the bitchy one :( Oh well, at least I know that she doesn't work on the Labour Ward so probably won't see her ever again :)

I am much better now and sort of getting my head around the induction and not being able to go to the birthing centre etc...after all am not trying to get a certain type birth - at the end of the day I just want a healthy baby and if induction is the way to go in my case so be it ...

Thanks again Real and really hope to hear a baby announcement from you soon! [hgrin]

voodoomunkee · 24/10/2011 20:05

Beesok, crikey she sounds flipping awful! The hospital mw not the im!
Why do people behave like that? Sigh. Try and relax, god knows pg is stressful enough without that! Have also had my fair share of annoying or useless interactions with health care professionals. Really can get you down. Fingers crossed both you and real are posting birth announcements soon!

oldboy · 24/10/2011 21:03

hi I am 41+4 and booked for induction thursday am also completly fed up. Couldnt have 1st sweep as baby was to high did manage to get a 2nd one friday but no signs of baby.

I think my positive thinking worked :) Have been getting strong contractions since 2:30 am now at about 6 mins apart! I think I also lost some of my waters and have had bloody mucus discharge (TMI sorry) so yep, I think I am officially beginning labour [hgrin]

I have a 10:00 am appt at the hosp today for a CTG and was hoping to argue myself out of my induction on Friday - seems like that won't be necessary hehehehe :)

Keep your fingers crossed and hope everyone else who is fed up will oin me soon! :)

TheRealMBJ · 26/10/2011 07:48

Grin yay!

Me too!

40+8 here.

Been getting some contractions since 6am. Not yet a minute long and a little erratic at present but definitely not just twinges/tightenings. Fingers crossed this might be real labour!

Am quite comfortable at the moment though, so hoping it isn't just a false alarm.

outthere · 26/10/2011 07:55

Wow, a double live birth thread this morning - how exciting!!! Good luck MBJ and Beesok !!!

Beesok · 26/10/2011 10:31

That's great news MBJ :)
My contractions are really painful now - they are still sort of 5 mins apart but this is def. not tightenings, my MW is coming over in half an hour and I really hope that I am progressing Grin

TBH am just glad I will not have to be induced!

Do you know if you'r having a boy or girl? We're having a girl :) Can't wait to give her a hug! :)

Good luck and here's to a quick and straightforward delivery!!! :)

Beesok · 26/10/2011 10:32

Oh and thanks outthere :) Will try to keep you updated - it's a good distraction in addition to the TENS! ;)

voodoomunkee · 26/10/2011 10:36

Oh wow good luck how exciting!

TheRealMBJ · 26/10/2011 12:18

5.5hrs of contractions and now really virtually stopped.

Beesok · 26/10/2011 14:10

OH no MBJ hope they pick up!

At 11:30 I was 2 cm and def contractions getting more painful but MW said it may well take another 12 hrs before I actually need to go to hospital (first baby) so going to take a nap now :)

ALotToTakeIn · 26/10/2011 22:13

MBj and Beesok I hope things have carried on progressing for you and you're all snuggled up with your babies by now.

Today I have been trying as many induction techniques as I can in one day so Raspberry leaf tea at breakfast, walk mid morning, pineapple with lunch, clarey sage hot bath in the pm and madras for dinner. Tried bouncing on the birth ball after dinner but ended up feeling a bit sick so gave up. Just got to try and convince DH into action and I think that will be everything Grin guessing I'll still be pregnant in the morning though ...
