I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

Kat311011 · 27/10/2011 19:48

Congratulations TheRealMBJ!!! Very jealous Envy
39 + 3 been getting twinges and had a very uncomfortable night last night, hoping it means something might be starting, although probably not. Sitting here drinking my raspberry leaf tea Brew

TheRealMBJ · 28/10/2011 03:38

Aw, thank you pearlgirl we should meet-up so you can meet her.

Birth story:

On Tuesday morning I got up as usual with DS at around 5am, despondent that I was yet again NOT in labour. We watched Thomas the Tank engine for an hour and then as I had planned to go to York for lunch and shopping with my brother and mother, I left DS with my mum and went to have a bath. As I got out of the bath. I has my first contraction. At first I thought it was just a strong BH it it was soon followed by a 2nd and 3rd about 8 minutes apart.

I told DH as I went to wake him and while he took DS for a bath I tried to relax and have a snooze, but couldn'tas I was too excited.

My mum and brother decided to take DS anyway and left at around9ish. dH and I walked to the post office and came back to watch Sideways. All throughout, my contractions were erratic, initially seeming to get closer together, and then tailing off! Until, just before lunch, they stopped.

DH made omelettes with mushrooms and goat's geese, which were delicious. And I suggested we go for a walk. So we walked down to the pub, unexpectedly met MIL on the way there and she and DH had a pint in the autumn sunshine. My interactions were still bloody painful, but erratic and seemed to stop when I stopped walking. I thought we were in for a looooong latent phase.

We returned home and decided to have a nap. We slept for an hour and a half or so, during wich time I was awoken 3/4 times itch painful contractions. We woke when DS returned home with DM and DB at 16H00.

I fed DS, played some Lego with him nd gave him his dinner, but decided to go have a bath as my last three contractions were 5 minutes apart, lasting close to a minute each. While in the bath I had SROM and that's when I knew we had to go. I rang the hospital to tell them we were coming. We got in the car and left . That was 17H30. The hospital is an hour away.

During the drive my contractions wnt from every five to every three minutes and the By the end way I could cope was to vocalise rather loudly, in fact VERY loudly. Like a primal moan

We arrived at the hospital and t was a ordeal to walk in an as soon as we got to the assement unit I had he unbearable urge to push. So I pulled ff my jeans and climbed onto the bed on all fours and told hem. This was 18H30

This sent them into a mad panic,, they wheeled us through to the delivery room on the low dependency unit and saidi could go for it. Luckily I heard them talk about jabbing me, so I managed to let them know that I wanted a physiological 3rd stage. As there was no chance to discuss my birth plan. I had wanted a water birth.

Beatrix Anna was born after 5 pushes at 18H47 weighing 7lb14oz. Physiological 3rd stage took about 40minutes, I think. Bea fed within 30 minutes. DH cut the cord once it stopped pulsating. It was brilliant.

Everything I old have hoped and wished for In a labour and birth. (exept the missing out n the water birth)

Pinkiemum · 28/10/2011 18:04

Congrats MBJ love your birth story hope mine goes half as well.

localcrackpot · 29/10/2011 10:53

Congratulations MBJ, I'm so jealous! Sounds like a great birth, very quick!

I'm still trying to get my little one to come out. I tried the nipple twiddling method and started leaking so don't want to do too much of that... Don't know whether to be pleased that it all seems to be in order or cursing that another plan bites the dust!

Good luck to everyone still waiting too!

Merlioness · 30/10/2011 05:25

Congratulations MBJ

Beesok any news?

Can I join you ladies? I am a little early at 36+4, but so fed up already :(
I feel fat, ache, can barely walk and stand. My feet are swollen and don't get me started on trying to turn over in bed :(
In addition I have managed to get sick over and over again over the last month and not so much as a twinge! No BHs, or anything, apart from stomach cramps for over a week

voodoomunkee · 30/10/2011 11:18

Merlioness hiya!
Right I feel quite bad that I just want to not be pregnant! Can't stand the inevitable questioning of every twinge and bit of discomfort! Had a few very uncomfortable twinges etc but nothing else that makes me think labour is imminent. How's everyone else doing?

lktoday5 · 30/10/2011 18:09

ok - ive tried so hard not to post on this thread but now ive had it ....my symptoms read like a list of 'everything you can possibly have in late pregnancy': carpal tunnel in my left wrist, disappearing ankles, swollen feet and hands, insomnia, crazy dreams, cant turn in bed and can only sleep on one side, spd so bad i can walk about 1/2 a mile and then my back just give sout, blah blah blah. On top of that, theyve been telling me since week 12 i wont go to term (I have a bicornuate uterus) - im now 39 plus 1 AND ive been fighting a UTI for 8 weeks which has seen me in hospital for a totale of 12 days over 4 visits and only after the 4th lot of antibiotics (and 20 plus sets of contractions) has it subsided. And if all that wasnt enough my DH is 3500 miles away and i havent been able to speak to him for nearly 2 weeks.

Ok. Rant over. Phew that feels better....thanks for listening ladies.

So, PMA: DH is coming home on Tuesday for 11 whole days r n r - just hoping she arrives then. Ive been making lots of lovely food and tomorrows task is the Christmas cake. And a lovely friend cam to see me today which has cheered me up no end. So..its not all that bad .....

Sending lots of 'we're nearly there, we're nearly there, we're nearly there' vibes to everyone.

Pinkiemum · 30/10/2011 18:21

40+1 today lots of contractions but then they stop just as they start to get regular. Not getting much sleep and really bad tempered. Really had hoped baby would come today as it is my mums birthday and I know she would have loved it to be born on her birthday.

My mother in-law has been here a week now and although I love her to bits I don't know if I can put up with her for another two weeks if I go that much overdue but know I need to help out with DD1 when I go to hospital.

Also fed up with sticking myself with needles everyday, after 8 months I have had enough, have to take them for another six weeks after baby is born, really hate it as they do not seem to make the needles sharp enough and they are often hard to get into my skin.

Ik sounds like you have not had an easy pregnancy fingers crossed you go into labour soon, have fun with the Christmas cake.

catgirl1976 · 30/10/2011 18:56

Hello Everyone!

37 + 5 today and even though I know I am not due for 2 more weeks I want this baby now! He will be my first

Spent 4 hours yesterday and 1 hour today being monitored due to reduced movements and then decreased heartbeat but thankfully everything is fine and have been sent home with clean bill of health but will feel SO much better when he is in my arms.

Also can't sleep and have horrrible heatburn. Everyone says I look HUGE and tells me he is going to be a MASSIVE baby Hmm but is measuring right for dates so hopefully he won't be.

Been having mild period pains for a couple of days and today would say fairly painful period pains. Am hoping thats a good sign!

Good luck to you all and congrats to Wackamile and MBJ :)

Katiebeau · 30/10/2011 19:39

Hello everyone. Waves to Nov antenatal thread ladies (to be renamed due to so many early babies).

40 weeks tomorrow and lower body has packed up now. I can't sleep more than 3/4 hrs a night and I lie awake worrying about how untidy the garage is!!!!! Hmm

Fed up just sums it up. I won't be induced at +12 at my request but I will have daily monitoring. Consultant and MW recommend sex. Yeah right. My pelvis would crack and as for my actual lady bits, they couldn't cope Blush.

I just want to eat M&S crisps and Christmas style biscuits. My bum is responding accordingly, I know I'll regret it later.

Sorry for moaning, I'm so grateful for bring pregnant but I would much rather have my baby now. Grin

natwebb79 · 31/10/2011 07:15

40 + frickin 6. Say no more Sad

Katiebeau · 31/10/2011 08:03

Pulls up chair and foot stool for swollen feet next to Nat and offers her M&S chocolate wheels.

natwebb79 · 31/10/2011 08:21

Katie has very quickly become best friend in whole world Grin

Katiebeau · 31/10/2011 08:35

I try and get to 10am before hitting the chocolate but too fed up and huge to care today! Glad you like them Nat. I was worried about not having any of the chocolate ginger ones to offer you Wink

voodoomunkee · 31/10/2011 11:39

Biscuits? Where?
waves to wrongly named nov thread ladies
I would love a biscuit but can't stand the heartburn they give me. :( ah am on my 1st day of mat leave, 38+6. I bought a pineapple. It's desperation. I know you need to eat about 7.
I deeply regret not having a hobby!

catgirl1976 · 31/10/2011 11:55

7 is it..........right. Have a pack of pineapple in the fridge. WIll down that and pop out for 6 more.

(and maybe some biscuits - am just wondering if the 20 minute bus ride to M&S is worth making soley for some chocolate covered pretzels. I think it might be)

banana87 · 31/10/2011 12:01

Can I join? 36+6 here and bring induced next Friday (11th). The baby is HUGE, my ankles and legs and face are swollen. I feel sick half the time and running after dd who is 3 doesn't help. And I've got SPD. It all just sucks!!!

catgirl1976 · 31/10/2011 12:09

:( banana - at least the end is in sight......hope you are feeling ok today!

Katiebeau · 31/10/2011 12:25

Voodoo - do you have Zantac/Ranitadine? It has saved my life this pregnancy (although it did mean I could eat more choccie biscuits).

Ohhh - catgirl chocolate covered pretzels???? Oh lordy, I really fancy those now.

Pineapple - you have to eat the skin and hard core too!!!

Banana heres hoping for such a great birth date!

catgirl1976 · 31/10/2011 12:46

oh no - this is prepared pineapple. No skin or core :) I have just ploughed my through 400g of the stuff!

voodoomunkee · 31/10/2011 13:10

Do you like pineapple normally catgirl? Cos you could just console yourself with it being one of your 5 a day hehe.
Katie no not tried Zantac, I shall though. This heartburns killing me. Good thing is I can't eat crisps, biscuits, bread, bacon, anything really actually. My nails are great, can only assume it's the additional calcium from the milk which seems to help! Ice cream gave me heartburn the other day. I nearly gave in.
Pregnancy is very hard work. You would think I would know this, it's my 3rd!

Katiebeau · 31/10/2011 13:19

Go straight to the GP for the Zantac or the generic if MW can't. I have to have the odd swig of Gaviscon still but not a massive bottle every 3 days. I love my consultant for prescribing it for me.

It really p'eed me off to be honest that last time I would cry from the pain and hunger and the MW just said "pregnancy, nothing can be done"!!!!!!

Now at least I can indulge my late pregnancy cravings Grin.

voodoomunkee · 31/10/2011 13:22

Gaviscon makes me vom! One dose goes down and straight back up! My mw is like that, ah well your pg what can you expect.... Not to be in agony perhaps? I've had a twix. Ill be in agony in 5 mins.
