Hi all

I'm due on the 11th of March, only 12 short days away now! DS (3.6) was 12 days overdue though, so am trying to tell my brain to stop getting excited - it probably has 24 days to wait!

I hated being induced last time so have laid it on thick to my consultant so he has agreed to start sweeps from today. I'm going in at 2pm to get one. Not pleasant, but if it hurries things along, worth it. It's good to feel like I'm doing something too.

Been trying to tell baby that I'm ready for her now - have packed my hospital bag, put up the cot and even finally caught up with the washing. The last load is in the machine now, such a good feeling!

I don't really have too much to moan about about from the usual tiredness and cant-ever-get-comfy-ness. I did have a lot of pain in my pelvis up until 33 weeks, but found a rather extreme way of making it better. DS and I were in a car crash after an old man pulled out right in front of us. As we crashed my legs were jammed out straight in front of me, standing as hard as I could on the pedals. I ended up with very bruised knees, but bizarely the force of the impact seemed to jolt my pelvis back into position a bit, so now as long as I'm careful and take it easy I've harldy got any pain. DS got a bump on his head, I think his feet flew up and got him, but apart from that we were both uninjured as were the old couple in the other car. We were incredibly lucky as both cars were a write-off.

So who else is in the last few weeks? I'll race you!

Body Pump and a 3k walk? Either you're just pretending to be pregnant or you are superwoman?!? Grin

I had some promising pains this morning when I woke up but they stopped as soon as I got up. Bah!

I'm not having a home birth but the idea of a birthing pool to relax in sounds bliss. Enjoy your trial run.

We've been to a soft play centre this morning, my idea of noisy hell, but at least I get to sit still while DS burns off all his energy. I'm absolutely knackered now even though I did nothing.

Congrats strangeways, great news.

Glad to hear a few of us are having promising pains. Nothing from me, still feel completely unpregnant despite the massive bellie. I do wonder what I'm going to do without the bellie to rest my drink, biscuit and magazine on. 6 days to EDD and counting.

GeekLove · 13/03/2011 17:46

roxy33

I don't feel pregnant at all today except when walking up hills. I am 40+3 and all I want is a baby RIGHT NOW!!!

I mean my poor DS will be wearing a Post-it note on his shirt saying 'no she hasn't had it now'. I am answering the phone saying. " hello I haven't had a baby"

SarahScot · 14/03/2011 10:36

Got my final sweep in 4 hours, wish me luck! Am 40+3 now and SO VERY VERY IMPATIENT!!!

missjackson · 14/03/2011 15:05

Good luck! Am 40 plus 4 now myself, and feeling FED UP. Did a long walk yesterday in the hills and nearly crippled myself in an attempt to get things going.

How come final sweep? When will they induce you?

geeklove I read a good tip somewhere that you should tell everyone your due date is the actual date plus 2 weeks - then you avoid all the annoying questions. Too late for us now!

me23 · 14/03/2011 15:58

didn't end up trying the pool last night as dp wanted a bath so wouldn't have been enough water. May try tonight.

for some reason I have 40+4 in my mind as the date I will go into labour, although would love for it to be sooner.

Hope the sweep works sarah and good luck missjackson hope you go into labour soon!

SarahScot · 14/03/2011 16:05

Just back from the hospital having had my sweep. I told the midwaife to make it a good one, and ouch ouch ouch, she certainly did! None of the others have hurt before so she must have been very thorough. I don't feel it doing anything so far, but am booked in for induction TOMORROW AT 8A.M.!!! My first baby was big so I don't want to go too far over dates. Also, midwive said I was so 'favourable' she couldn't believe I wasn't already in labour! My pelvic score was 7 if that means anything to anyone, which is apparently a nice high number and would usually mean I was in labour. You seem to points for dilation, length of cervix, consistency of cervix etc. She has also writtem 'external genetalia NAD' - what does that mean?

Oy my goodness, by this time tomorrow i will most likely have my baby!!!!! Grin

How exciting Sarah!!

Good luck with your upcoming labour all. I'm trying to stay busy and active to make sure baby doesn't get too relaxed in there. 6 more days till due date...

sundayb3st · 14/03/2011 17:24

Good luck sarah !
I'm due tomorrow and have been having pains that start and stop for weeks now. It's getting really frustrating... Also i'm getting seriously annoyed at people who keep calling and texting every day asking about any news. Grrr..
I have a mw appointment tomorrow and hoping for some encouraging news.
Let's hang in there ladies. Not long to go now...

Maitri · 14/03/2011 17:43

sunday I could have written your post! Same here - due tomorrow and have lost count of the number of calls and texts from "interested" parties... Ho, hum - don't they realise that I'm more desperate than ANYONE to have this baby now.

Jupiter118 · 14/03/2011 17:45

Good luck Sarah - I think the score is bishops score (wikipedia after my sweep last week) - mine was 7 also I think. Hopefully it should mean you have an easier induction! Fingers crossed. No idea about the genetalia thing though.

I have been having bloody show type mucous since Saturday - v different from the pork pie like jelly I lost 4 weeks ago - this is much more snot like (sorry) and has been brown, White and is currently pink in colour - does the colour change mean anything? Also feeling a lot of increased pressure down there and much more painful cramps. They have yet to get into a sodding pattern though. No idea what to expect tbh as was induced first time around when head was unengaged and cervix not that favourable. Was still quite quick though. So quite anxious this time as not sure what to expect???????

Hello to everyone else - also increasingly peed off with the 'how are you type messages!

missjackson · 14/03/2011 17:50

jupiter sounds very promising, I think once your show has blood in it, it's all systems go. With DS1 I got that exactly as you described, and the cramps soon became the real thing. So I would get ready for an interesting night!

How exciting sarah, the wait will soon be over.

sundayb3st · 14/03/2011 18:57

maitri - it makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one :)

jupiter - that sounds very promising. I think you are not far away now. Good luck!

me23 · 14/03/2011 19:34

External genitalia NAD means no abnormalities detected with your bits! it's just a general thing to write when commenting on a vaginal examination.

GeekLove · 14/03/2011 19:54

I have half a mind to go swimming and powerwalking tomorrow when DS is in nursery. Only problem is that I cannot pass out for long since I have to pick him up at 4.30.

Also in my last post I meant DH not DS!

Looks like some of you are getting some baby action - good luck!

SarahScot · 14/03/2011 20:29

Thanks me23 - glad I have a normal fanjo, hopefully it'll still be intact this time tomorrow!

Sounds like there are lots of you with shows, cramps, etc, maybe they'll be lots of 15th March birthday? Grin

Good luck everyone, will be back in a day or so to let you know how it went.

haloflo · 15/03/2011 11:42

Sarah Best of luck today - looking forward to your news.

Jupiter Same for you - I hope things are happening.

Nothing new here. 39+2, I get lots of BH's but nothing more. Is there any proof that exercise gets babys out faster? It hurts to walk too far so I spend most of my time on the sofa.

My aim for today is to spend more time on my ball, which I will do as soon as i've drunk this Brew

StrangewaysHereICome · 15/03/2011 13:17

Good luck for today Sarah, you'll be holding your baby soon.

Jupiter that does sound promising, hope it all gets going soon. I had a bloody show and was holding ds less than 24 hours later - good luck Smile.

me23 · 15/03/2011 13:52

sarah lol Grin it is good to know isn't it!
I'm bored, bored, bored!

me23 · 15/03/2011 13:53

oops sorry forgot to say good luck with the induction lookign forward to hearing your news Smile

Cheria · 15/03/2011 15:01

Good luck Sarah

I'm due Thursday but been in pre labour for over a week. Had a sweep yesterday.. still nothing. Hoping the doctor will help speed things up soon.

Hope everyone has a hassle free time of it over the next few days!

msbossy · 15/03/2011 15:45

Hope it's going well Sarah. Not only should you get your baby today - you've made discussions of the day as well :-)

Nothing happening here so torturing myself by watching last night's OBEM.

EmmaBemma · 15/03/2011 16:17

Saw this thread on discussions of the day - good luck everyone! Now I look back on my own nearly-due days with v. rose-tinted spectacles, but I was a right moany-pants at the time - I could have done with a thread like this. 10 days overdue with both my daughters.

Jupiter118 · 15/03/2011 17:10

sarah hope all going well??

Think I must be in pre/false labour - is horrendous. Show continues (white/pink today) and cramps. They did get regular at one point, but back to being erratic again at the moment, but really quite painful. How will I ever know if they are the real thing as can see self getting complacent about them. Had VE and subsequently second sweep earlier as was in the hospital getting checked as have a headache with black dots and flashers etc.

V confused about sweep as had one last week where although not dilated cervix (1cm as not first baby) was anterior, soft and favourable. Today's MW said it was posterior, soft, thick and she could stretch it to 3cm. V v v confused.

Re: headache - is horrid - told to take paracetemol (thanks) and have BP taken again tomorrow. Bloods and urine clear and BP on borderline 142/90 and 2nd reading of 145/88.

Must retreat to bouncing manically on gym ball.

Hope others have more promising signs.

sundayb3st · 16/03/2011 09:45

So my due date has come and gone and still no sign of a baby... I'm now officialy one day overdue and getting more and more frustrated. On top of that I'm seriously annoyed after my 40 week appointment yesterday. I saw the worst midwife so far. Totally disinterested with 'can't be asked' domena. I know I'm a cranky 9 month pregnant woman but the midwife should know that I'm at the end of my rope and be supportive and understanding. She didn't really answer any of my questions, didn't even measure me (just put 40cm in my notes automaticaly). I was so mad at her grrr. Just when I needed someone to be nice and supportive I get this horrible 'can't be bothered' woman. All she said to me was "it will happen"

Oh well... another body pump session tonight. I'll make it a good one and we'll see what the baby thinks of that :)
