Hi all

I'm due on the 11th of March, only 12 short days away now! DS (3.6) was 12 days overdue though, so am trying to tell my brain to stop getting excited - it probably has 24 days to wait!

I hated being induced last time so have laid it on thick to my consultant so he has agreed to start sweeps from today. I'm going in at 2pm to get one. Not pleasant, but if it hurries things along, worth it. It's good to feel like I'm doing something too.

Been trying to tell baby that I'm ready for her now - have packed my hospital bag, put up the cot and even finally caught up with the washing. The last load is in the machine now, such a good feeling!

I don't really have too much to moan about about from the usual tiredness and cant-ever-get-comfy-ness. I did have a lot of pain in my pelvis up until 33 weeks, but found a rather extreme way of making it better. DS and I were in a car crash after an old man pulled out right in front of us. As we crashed my legs were jammed out straight in front of me, standing as hard as I could on the pedals. I ended up with very bruised knees, but bizarely the force of the impact seemed to jolt my pelvis back into position a bit, so now as long as I'm careful and take it easy I've harldy got any pain. DS got a bump on his head, I think his feet flew up and got him, but apart from that we were both uninjured as were the old couple in the other car. We were incredibly lucky as both cars were a write-off.

So who else is in the last few weeks? I'll race you!

OMG, Sarah, my head is still reeling from your crash!!! I'm SO glad that you and hubby are fine, but how frightening!

Well, you and I have the same due date, but my situation may be a bit unfair as I'm scheduled for a CS on the 9th. There is still a chance that you'll be early, though, right?! :)

In general, I feel fine. No signs of birth. Maybe b/c I'm spending too much time in bed (and on MN)! Am sitting amongst boxes as we are set to move flats a week after due date so nesting will have to come later.

Good luck! Are you on the March babies thread btw?

SarahScot · 28/02/2011 10:18

I was on the March thread ages ago but it got so big I never quite got round to catching up! Maybe should pop back over and see how everyone is doing.

The moving flats thing would be doing my head in! I've spent the last week bumbling around trying to make the baby's nursery pretty, although it's rather pointless as she'll be in our room for 6 months! She'll get her nappy changed in there and her clothes are in there too, so I suppose it's not a TOTAL waste Grin.

P.S. Yes the CS thing is definitely cheating!

im here! due on 3rd. Partners first baby and my third ( last was 5 yrs ago).
I delivered at 39+2 and 39+4 with my others so I am grumpy, impatient, fed up and fat and shitting it I go over!
I want a baby!!!!

Roxy33 · 28/02/2011 10:32

Sarah I'm glad you had a positive outcome from something so scary.

I'm due on the 19th of March so 20 days to go. I feel ok, not too tired which is good because I have a lot to do. Didn't help that my DH spent sunday nursing a massive hangover so all the things we had planned are now on my plate this week.........Wink which i shall do slowly inbetween relaxing and MN. It's my first and surprisingly I'm not too nervous about the birth (perhaps i'm blocking it out) - probably more worried about the coming home part with a new baby and knowing what to do.

No signs of impending birth - baby is quite low and engaged but no period pains.

I'm due on the 7th with my first and over the past few weeks i've turned into a moaning, grumpy witch Blush

If i'm not constantly hungry then i'm constantly crying over the most silly things. I roared my eyes out this morning because Colin Firth won an oscar .... I've never ever watched a film with Colin Firth in it.

My pelvis feels like it's been ripped apart, i get shooting pains in my fanjo everytime i try and rest and the Braxton Hicks .... well don't get me started on those f*$%ers!!! Wink

With every little twinge i think i'm going into labour. And as it's my first i can't relax because i'm worrying about every tiny detail. How my DP has put up with me lately i'll never know.

I am enjoying the fact that i get to eat lots of cake and don't have to feel too guilty about it. Cake always cheers me up Smile

Today i'm going to write more to-do-lists and pack my hospital bag for the tenth time, it's the only thing that keeps me sane.

Good luck to you all, it's nice to know i'm not alone. :)

boredbuthappy · 28/02/2011 12:50

I am also due on 11th March! With first baby though...and I am REALLY hoping he turns up early, I don't think I could handle being overdue for too long. I am so ready to have this baby...everything is ready and has been for the past 2 weeks. The anticipation is just excrutiating!

lia66 · 28/02/2011 12:59

hi all

I'll join you, due 20th March with baby#6 Shock. Baby #5 arrived at 37 wks so I've had that in my head and I know I'm heading for a fall when this one goes over due.

We are hoping for a hb, got everything ready, not done trial runb with pool yet but hoping dh will do that at some point this week. :)

Lots bh, baby was 3/5 on last palpation which was 3 wks ago, but with so many babies, head can pop in and out until labour actually starts so not reading anything into that at all.

SPend every evening in the bath as thats the comfiest place to be, roll on labour, get it over with and let the fun begin. :)

TooImmature2BMum · 28/02/2011 13:53

Can I join in? I'm due on the 3rd too, with baby number 1. I am getting fed up of the waiting - but not quite so fed up that I actually want to be in labour, iyswim. Mixed messages to baby, perhaps? I've a bit of SPD - it comes and goes. Being in the bath helps - have spent a chunk of almost every evening all pregnancy in the bath!

I'm getting very grumpy too - just hung up on a telesales person because she wouldn't listen when I said I was busy and not interested in being on her mailing lists.

Come on, baby!

Piffly · 28/02/2011 14:56

I'm due to have DC1 on 16 March & starting to feel like he might shoot out like a cannonball at any moment Confused. Been convinced he'll be early, but apparently everyone thinks that (says midwife) & statistically most of us must be wrong... boo.

Moving home shortly too ckny1 so I feel your pain :)

This week's fun includes sharp rib pain when I bend even slightly, eg to pick things up from the floor where I constantly drop them... can't be bothered to do anything, yet feel like constantly loads to do... waking up about 493 times every night... acid reflux that feels like molten lava... crying at the stupidest things, eg DP laughing at the joke I MADE about waters breaking... in other words, totally barking and fit to burst.

Also terrified/excited at same time about birth... BRING IT ON though, because at least that'll knock me out of the permanent loop of is-it-isn't-it-no-that-was-just-a-twinge-OR-WAS-IT? etc. Arghhhh! Good luck everyone.

cloggs142 · 28/02/2011 15:48

Im due with my first on 22nd of march....but due to a bit of a dates mix up, have been told to expect him anytime from now :)

Had quite a nasty time with spd and hip problems, so the physio thought it would be a good laugh to put me on crutches for the past 3 months.......NOT fun! Especially as the horribly inconsiderate staff at our tescos store insists on keeping the chocolate coissants on the bottom shelf in the bread isle.....now i dont know if anyone has tried it, but i can assure you that obtaining the multiple packs of these that i need to get me through the day is no easy feat....i look like a very bloated angry baby giraffe. :p

Piffly i know exactly how you feel with the acid reflux, one of those lovely little surprises that no-one bothers to warn you about :P

Feeling very excited now, aswell as insanely nervous) as had minor contractions at regular 6 minute intervalls for 7 hours last night. Still coming now, but not as regular.....probably a false alarm, but am soooooo ready to be able to get comfy again without a foot in my ribs and have a hot bath and a salami sandwich! Grin

Good luck everybody!!

SarahScot · 28/02/2011 18:10

Ha ha ha ha, it's nice to hear you're all sufferring too! I had my first sweep today (38+3 wks, had to get consultant to ok it) so am feeling a bit achey and twingey. MW said my cervix was soft and long - a good thing apparently - and that she could easily get her finger in, again a good thing.

I too am super-grumpy with poor DS (3.6). I'm still sending him to nursery 3 days a week as I fear 7 days a week with me might scar him for life. Grin

nancydrewfoundaclue · 28/02/2011 20:24

I'm joining for a couple of days just because I am fed up and really concious that I am just one big whinge at the moment.

I am due with #4 on 21st but I am being induced on Thursday. Was desperately hoping that this one would come of her own accord but despite regular cramping nothing happening yet and time is running out Sad

Anyway today is officially the longest I have ever been pregnant and if that isn't good enough reason to huff an dpuff I don't know what is Grin

SarahScot · 01/03/2011 08:23

Well, my sweep certainly did something. I went to bed at 10 last night but couldn't sleep until after 1. Baby was super-active and I was getting constant BHs - not sore but wierd feeling. As well as that though I just felt WIERD - restless, twitchy, wound-up. What is that about? I've never felt so odd in my life.

Good luck with your induction Nancydrew.

Oh dear, ladies. I feel like we should be documenting all of our experiences on film to make a comedy, or horror, film called "The Last Weeks"!

Not sure, but think I may have had my first BH last night. Was crampy for about 10 minutes. Have had mini cramps before, but this was heavier.

Lauzifer, you had me ROLLING with your comments! I cry anyway during awards ceremonies, whether or not I know the winners. Also cry during coffee commercials. However, during pregnancy it's been less! Confused

I've been taking uber-yummy baths every weekend, and am envious of your pool birth, lia. My consultant thinks my situation may be too complicated for that, hence the CS (which I've finally come to peace with).

My Daddy in Philadelphia just Skyped me, I think it's only 6am there, and my hair is a wreck as I'm still in bed eating my breakfast! Blush Guess I should start my day?

Sarah and everyone, hope you all get a good night's rest tonight!

StrangewaysHereICome · 01/03/2011 12:58

2 days overdue here with no.3 and have never been overdue before!! Jolly grumpy and tired too. To sweep or not to sweep that is the question??? Am a bit nervous but if no action by Thurs I might try it!

Good luck everyone St Davids Smile

tothesea · 01/03/2011 13:15

I am due on the 20th with DS 2. I go on Maternity Leave tomorrow thankfully as I am completely disorganised - haven't even packed a hospital bag!

We have had decorating done so the house is in a complete mess. So even though I am grumpy, tired, heavy and uncomfortable I don't want him to come yet - please!!! I have too much to do!!!!

Good luck to everyone else with their imminent arrivals!

nancydrewfoundaclue · 01/03/2011 16:25

Sarah - that sounds promising! I felt super weird last night too - crying uncontrollably about something silly, couldn't sleep for ages and then very vivid dream in which my waters broke in bed- was quite gutted when I didn't wake up in labour!

I felt very strange the days before my other labours but the problem (for me!) is that once you think you know "the signs" you see them everywhere!

Good luck all

SarahScot · 01/03/2011 20:44

Still feel a bit crampy and odd but nothing happening. Off to persuade DH into some sex now Grin - will just have to stop grimacing and ouching long enough for him to get the deed done!
