Blood test yesterday: Serum CA 125 level over 35 indicates possible cancer. Mine is 213. Shit.

DH knows and one friend but I don't want to worry anyone else until I know how bad it is; hence I've name changed for this post. I'd love to know how anyone else has coped / is coping.

CT scan Saturday and USS on Monday. GP has made 2ww gynae referral today.

Wish me luck that tomorrow goes well.

Any update?

We're all hoping treatment is going well

Mischance · 08/09/2025 21:25

Thank you for letting everyone know. I am hoping the treatment is getting on top of the infection.

WhatWouldRoyKentSay · 08/09/2025 21:38

Thanks for the update, Mr Joy. Thinking of you both xx

AhBiscuits · 08/09/2025 21:40

Joy's DH here
Joy picked up an infection and was readmitted Saturday night. On IV antibiotics and fluids, slowly improving but still very poorly.

Hiya, it’s so tough, good she is responding to treatment. Hugs & love to you both. One hour and day at a time xx

Alhambraeva · 08/09/2025 21:45

Wishing you both all the best and holding Joy in my thoughts for a speedy recovery from the infection and back to treatment x

fourelementary · 08/09/2025 21:52

@Ohjoyohbliss Or hubby- just caught up on this thread and wanted to send you (both) lots of love. I had DLBCL in 2004 and I’m pleased to tell you I’m still here, two more babies after treatment as well- it’s so tough to go through the treatment and the fear but I really hope you can take some comfort from stories like mine. 💚

littlefireseverywhere · 08/09/2025 21:58

Sending lots of love & good wishes.

But almost two weeks too late.

Ugh I can relate to how you are feeling. My husband had stage 4 kidney cancer on CT - took them 8 weeks to get in touch to let us know. We were private patients too 😏

bloomingbonkerz · 08/09/2025 22:05

Sending positive vibes

Over40Overdating · 08/09/2025 22:16

Sending you both good wishes and hoping the infection fucks off soon!

whyayepetal · 08/09/2025 22:46

Wishing you strength and courage, and sending love Joy (and Mr Joy!)

Hominim · 08/09/2025 22:48

Love to you both

RidiculousRed · 08/09/2025 23:02

Sending love and strength to you both.

Wehavenotlongtolove · 08/09/2025 23:14

I have just read all of Joy’s posts. I can’t imagine what she (and you, Mr Joy) are going through. I don’t know her, but I have a distinct impression of Joy as a forceful, determined and strong woman who will get through this. You are both in my thoughts.

Areyouactuallyjokingme · 08/09/2025 23:44

Sending you both, prayers and love, strength and best wishes ❤️💐

Tryingmum456 · 09/09/2025 00:05

You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

Joy's DH here
Joy picked up an infection and was readmitted Saturday night. On IV antibiotics and fluids, slowly improving but still very poorly.

How is Joy doing? I just wanted to add my experience of being fed via my nose. I am permanently tube fed and choose to have it that way as opposed to a Jtube through my side.
Joy would have a NG (I had my stomach and duodenum removed, hence the 'J'). It isn't painful and is tiny compared to NJs they use post-op for suction. It's really not bad.
I hope Joy is improving. x

You quoted OP’s post that she posted back in July, but if you’d read her posts you would have seen that a lot has happened since then and she’s been diagnosed with lymphoma

Apologies. I didn't see that.

FlorenceAndTheSewingMachine · 09/09/2025 08:12

Hope the infection clears quickly xx thinking of you

Enigma54 · 08/09/2025 19:35

Joy has been diagnosed with lymphoma. She has a treatment plan, but a recent infection, had caused her to be readmitted to hospital.

Apologies. I didn't realise the original post was from a while ago. Big hugs to OP.

Apologies. I didn't realise the original post was from a while ago. Big hugs to OP.

It's a common courtesy when commenting on a long thread to at least read the OP's posts before adding a post. "See all" at bottom right on the original post (or any of the OP's posts) allows readers to read everything the OP has written.

That way it's possible to be up to date on the OP’s situation and see if they've already answered the point you want to make.
