My wife, age 82, has been very lethargic for a few months, doesn't want to eat, sleeps a lot, no energy, etc.
On Sunday, she was okay, more or less, and we did a quick grocery shop.
On Monday, she was distinctly unwell, and we went to ER.
On Wednesday, she was moved to the cancer floor.
On Thursday, we were advised her cancer is terminal, and she has only a few months to live.
The children (all adults) are in shock. As am I, I suppose. She will be coming home as soon as the hospital finish all their tests, and I have to arrange palliative care, etc. Lots of things... making a bedroom downstairs, getting a walk-in shower installed.
Wow, my world has changed really quickly...
