Camping

Enough already about roof boxes and fat airics. This is much more important. Camp Kitchens Table Set-Ups: are you a more impressive camper with one?

We have an Aldi fold up table. It is not cutting the mustard. My mate had a whole fold out table fandango with many levels upon which to put things. I coveted it.

What have you upon which to place your stove?

LINKS to these things, please, we have no cooking stuff yet and my mum has pointed out that she (yet again) didn't get me a birthday present and says she'll get me some cook-wankery to make up for it.

Well I'm pretty happy with our set up, we have various tent wank already mentioned.

The thing that really gives us a problem is what to sit the DCs on up to the table to eat? All the damn chairs either fall over, are designed for chillin', or have huge arms(preventing close to tableness). We have one of those roll top tables (fab). And yes, we do just sit them on the floor sometimes, but it doesn't work with everything.
We manage on the chillin' chairs btw.

So what do you all sit on?

We have one of those little picnic tables which has the chairs attatched, my kids are only 7,4,20mo and 7 mo and this does them well, an adult can sit at it comfortably but not if you are hefty like myself

sorry Poppity. We do not sit on the camp kitchen. We (DH and me) eat off our laps (from a plate natch) the dds have a seriously henious pink teeny tiny fold up chair and table set up.

So far I have held off buying a table.

mmmm. thermarests. I embarrassed FIL by trying out his thermarest on his living room floor. We were the only ones in the room until DH walked in, whence I invited DH to try it out. On his own.

I am trying to get DH to buy thermarests, but due to his moneysaving drive we'll probably get a plastic ziplock bag stuffed with cotton wool.

I do not have a pop up tent tidy, but I have some of those hanging pouch thingies. That probably doesn't count and I am feeling underpacked now without something other than DH that doesn't automatically bounce out of its packaging whenever it sees me.

Chairs?!!

We sit on the grass, or a faller log, or a rock.

I wish we had thermarests though, or even just roll mats. I am going to invest in some, after the pain my hip gave me last camping trip

We had one of those tables with attached chairs, it broke too, but before that the children just fell off it all the time.

Perhaps I just have particularly fally children....

Aitch, was there a link?

OMDB you are just SO hardy. I take my hat off to you. I could no more sleep on the ground than I could contemplate bringing a fresh pineapple on a camping trip.

Thermarests are the biz. Bramble pop round and lie on mine, thet are airing as I type.

at baldy's hanging pouch.
