Camping

Our UK Camping forum has all the information you need on finding the right equipment for your tent or caravan.

Enough already about roof boxes and fat airics. This is much more important. Camp Kitchens Table Set-Ups: are you a more impressive camper with one?

We have an Aldi fold up table. It is not cutting the mustard. My mate had a whole fold out table fandango with many levels upon which to put things. I coveted it.

What have you upon which to place your stove?

just when i thought mn had got too dull and was about to throw in the towel, i discover a whole new world of excitment in the camping topic.

god yes, couldn't do without my poncey camp kitchen
we've got an outwell one like this
and I've got a larder cupboard
and a tent tidy aitch
and a wardrobe (or 2)

best storage are those slightly squidgy plastic buckets you can get in all colours and all sizes.

SheherazadetheGoat · 03/06/2009 22:38

we used to use a big box with a lid that doubled as a table. happy days.

you knwo what, goat, i was honestly thinking the same thing. i've only been camping once and posted on here for the first time last week but everyone's been so LOVELY that i think that this is my new home. and the running thread, but there i mostly think 'oh ffs HOW can you run a mile in 9 minutes?'

AitchTwoOh · 03/06/2009 22:42

ingles has a tent tidy, miss. and a wardrobe for two.

Ivykaty44 · 03/06/2009 22:43

See we always do the cafetirea dodda, but have never worked out the expresso machine - anyone care to explain?

(I have one taking up space)

We have a hatch for the food pre

ingles2 · 03/06/2009 22:44

the only way I was going camping was if I had wanky equipment....
dh and the boys would have been happy with a bin bag.
browsing camping equipment sites is nearly as good as reading the seed catalogue

Slubberdegullion · 03/06/2009 22:45

Goat, possibly 30% of all camping threads are kit related. It's just like style and fashion but you know with things that fold flat, and most stuff these days you can get to co-ordinate with your tent. It is all VERY exciting if you have inherited a geek gene.

and then the minimalist camping faction types come along and roll their eyes and talk about holidaying for 3 weeks with a tarp and a pen knife

ooh ingles. That is rather nice. Looks sturdy.

i went running while camping last weekend. i figured in the heat and with only a few sheep for company i could risk taking off my running jacket and stripping back to my vest top. that would NEVER happen in the city.

btw i have started a new thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/camping/766885-how-many-of-you-have-dhs-or-dps-who-are?rnd=1244065837855

Slubberdegullion · 03/06/2009 22:53

washable you say.... mmmm Would a 5 year old (regular size) running at moderate speed but looking backwards be able to knock it over do you think?

Sal the extremely nice pyramid folk on ukcs have found me a tarp AND windbreak to matchy matchy my Cabanon. Oh happy day. Although I seem to have to order them from a dutch web site [scary-balary]
