SAlly, isn't this tent on that site ideal as your weekend tent? It has 3 compartments, but is small....

Gingerbear · 01/04/2007 22:50

I am a tent stalker. I am still trying to convince DH it is A Good Thing. He won't hear of it until the baby is older.

luminous guy ropes - genius!

kittypants · 01/04/2007 22:52

Gingerbear why wait till babies older?easier with babies!

AitchTwoOh · 01/04/2007 22:53

me too ginge, i'll look out for you on future threads.

Blu · 01/04/2007 22:53

luminous guy ropes !!!!

Brilliant!

Gingerbear · 01/04/2007 22:55

kitty - do you want to talk to DH? I am fed up of trying all the convincing arguments I have read here.

I think we might try somewhere hot in the summer for a weekend.

Gingerbear · 01/04/2007 22:56

Gingerbear put 2 chairs together and drape sheet over, your dh will get message when you dont come out of your 'tent' for days!!!.i cant imagine not owning a tent,we couldnt afford holidays ever!

AitchTwoOh · 01/04/2007 23:06

oh gawd. if i asked you ladies where someone like me, who hasn't been camping since 1978, should start, would you answer? or would you yawn and send me to archived threads? (which would be fine, so long as you provided links... )

we are dh (strictly decorative, therefore all tent responsibilities mine) and me and DD of 15 months. we are in scotland, therefore somewhere cosy would be good.

and can i just say... carpet?!

Gingerbear · 01/04/2007 23:20

If you think - Shelter, food, bed and take it from there. I once made a list of camping requisits, and the whole lot came to less than £500. that is a helluva lot of cheap holidays.

Gingerbear · 01/04/2007 23:20

lol @ your DH being strictly decorative.

i'd be lol-ing too if it wasn't so utterly, terribly true. i think i might start a thread asking for a list tomorrow. i suppose i'm looking for a specific tent recommendation. and then somewhere to start...

kittypants · 01/04/2007 23:28

oh i like that!

AitchTwoOh · 01/04/2007 23:28

ooooh, 'contemporary checked design' giraffeski... pmsl.
