Putting up the indiana was simple. The nearest we'd ever put up a tent before was a beach shelter on the seafront. Actually i think that was probably harder.
Yes thanks for the comments on the erection times dh rather proud .
Having said all that we haven't done it in public yet, just the seclusion of our own back garden, where it just fitted in.

Oh and if you follow the video getting it back in the back took five minutes too.

Hmmmmm, see we're tempted now by the new Baltic Sea L- the idea being that it will be a nice weekender to enhance rather than replace the Tahoma, and then upgrading the Tahoma at the end of the season to the Norfolk Lake (fab bedroom layout).

Decision, decisions.....

Do love the polycotton on the comfort range though, will last for ever

Hello, I'm new... and hoping you expert campers can advise! It's probably a silly question but... we're going camping with our 9 month old at the end of May and I'm not sure how many layers he's going to need to sleep in. I'm thinking we'll take the travel cot so he's off the ground, and he's normally in a gro-bag plus PJs plus vest - will he need a jumper as well? what about a hat? I don't want him to get cold, nor to boil... Any advice gratefully received.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 04/04/2007 18:43

depends on the temperature really

put a blanket on the groundsheet before the cot to insulate (we always do this now- huge difference). Then add thin layers of blankets rather than clothes. He will need at least 2 blankets I would think if it isn't too warm.

Tracy- we put our son in one of those fleecy babygro type things when he was that age. He was in a travel cot and also had 2 blankets. He slept really well.

Mothercare have some really good fleece pyjama all in ones, they go up to about 7 years old.

What a coincidence, we've been looking for a summer holiday tent, max twice a year to last us forever, and saw some erected (tee hee) tents yesterday. I really liked the look of this and it's a really good price too. The man in Yeomaans said that Peakland were made by Outwell for Yeomans and were the same quality. What does everyone think re. quality of Peaklnd? Sorry to try to hijack, should I start a new thread? x

Sallyheart,

Haven't read the rest of the thread but is

this

any good for a weekend? We have just bought it as we can fit our table and chairs under if it rains. Dead easy to put up too. And cheap!

tracysamanthalord · 05/04/2007 16:51

Thanks for the advice!

PeachyChocolateEClair · 05/04/2007 21:06

this is our new baby

well it will be

in a month if car OK on MOT, a few weeks after if not

OOh but WHAT a tent LOL!

For anywhere that doesn't take Geodesics / weekends (given we need mroe than average space)

Giraffeski- we have one much like yours, its fab but do check with site owners before going- they don't always fit ona ll pitches and that can be VERY annoying! A few willeven refuse you now, but not most.

Some don't gireaffeski, forest hols for example- but more and mroe are asking, i think because camping is more popular they can cram more smaller ones on

We adoree our Gelert tahoma though, and as a main tent we couldn't fault it, i reckon you'll be pleased with ti.
