no need to ever wash your baby's face, just wait until she pulls off and gets squirted, rub it in, et voila!

You beat me to it, you can bf while on mumsnet but can only do post when DD on left hand side!

Jacksmama · 09/11/2009 16:48

That's so funny - DS comes over while I'm on MN and climbs into my lap to feed and automatically goes to the left boob so I can still type

Oh, the nipple-twiddling - GAHHHH!!!!!!

ladylush · 09/11/2009 22:39

ouch at nipple twiddling Didn't get that with ds as stopped bf at 7 months. Did get some biting though........come to think of it I stopped not long after

ladylush · 09/11/2009 22:40

I say stopped but was still doing 1 morning and 1 night

Having the whole world think you're wonderful as you are 'managing brilliantly with that breast feeding malarky' especially after being told I wouldnt last a week trying to breast feed by the mother brigade

watching your child spit out the dummy her gran was insisting she needed as she knew it wasnt a nice big soft boob.

having as much cake as I like every day (now weigh less than I did when I got pregnant), along with hot chocolates on demand.

chipsticksmammy · 10/11/2009 08:04

All the doubters thinking you're wonderful as you 'struggle on with that breast feeding malarky' yeah its dreadful having milk on demand. imagine how easy it would be if I just gave it up and gave her a bottle

watching her spit out the dummy granny was insisting she 'needed' as she knew it wasnt a nice big soft boob.

having all the cake in the world and being brought hot chocolate on demand

your breastfeeding bringing you closer to your other half as everybody can have a cuddle on the sofa during boob feeding. no need for boiled kettles and cooling, just finding the remote.

chipsticksmammy · 10/11/2009 08:05

weird double posting while feeding

MaMight · 10/11/2009 11:36

at "I'm FEEDIN the BABY!"

Love that and will use it ad nausium now.

anothercoldcupoftea · 10/11/2009 13:36

Good thread - has made me remember why I'm doing this still (been either pregnant and/or BF for the last 3 years solid now, sigh). Principally for the cake

Also because I can tell ask DH to get DD2 up/change her nappy etc, because then I have to feed her (i.e. sit on my arse on the sofa, whilst he then goes and sorts out DD1 as well). Equal division of labour no?

Added bonus of sticking a metaphorical two fingers up to my MIL who seems to think that BF is a bit odd ('but you don't know how much to give them' 'maybe you'll use formula sooner this time, as you'll have DD1 to look after as well' - bearing in mind DD1 is severely allergic to dairy so BF DD2 not really that optional!). DD2 is 5 months and is the size of a 9 month old at least, so there is no way she can think that BF is somehow inferior now. Hah!

But principally the cake (and I'm really not joking!)

OmicronPersei8 · 10/11/2009 13:56

Thanks for this thread, I've felt a bit worn down by breastfeeding a teething and slightly 'chewy' 19 month old this week - I'm another one who's done 3 and a half years of breastfeeding or being pregnant - and this has reminded me of all the lovely things about it.

Must go bake a cake to cheer myself up!

GreenMonkies · 10/11/2009 14:00

Being able to stun people into silence by telling them I'm tandem feeding a 6 and 3 year old........

(enjoy the gorging on cake phase, I am now putting the weight back on and currently weigh what I did post DD1 pregnancy......)

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2009 14:03

deciding whether to open a ginger cake...

Bettymum · 10/11/2009 14:24

Go on Stealth, you know you want to .

Wow GreenMonkies I am seriously impressed.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 10/11/2009 14:32

Loved reading all the above comments I most definately planned to breastfeed now Im determined! thanks ladies keep the comments coming! (despite being told by my family to have some emergency ff ready just incase)

scrunchie · 10/11/2009 14:36

This has really cheered me up thank you!

GreenMonkies · 10/11/2009 14:40

Betty in all fairness DD1 only feeds every few days now, just first thing in the morning, but technically she's still breastfed!! DD2 is still a boob-aholic though......

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2009 14:44

ok
dropping food on them as you eat while feeding, well i find it amusing!

claireyBANG · 10/11/2009 14:47

I am extremely forgetful and I could forget nappies, wipes, dummies etc but ds was never without food or comfort

Jacksmama · 10/11/2009 14:59

Clairey - yes, absolutely!! DS is 21 months old and so I have to remember to take a sippy cup and some snacks everywhere, but it's so comforting to remind myself that if I forget or we get delayed, no problem - WE HAVE BOOB!!!

I'm with Stealth on dropping food on their heads being funny. Doesn't happen much anymore with my wiggle monster, but I do recall a few befuddled looks and questions of "why is there rice in his hair?" when he was tiny. Or the odd yellow spot on his scalp near the hairline... from the splotch of curry that I didn't wipe off quickly enough... which stayed for a day or two... (note to self - turmeric stains like a bastard!!)

I love this thread.
Am in absolutely awe of Lenin tandem-feeding twins.

Chica31 · 10/11/2009 15:01

The special smile that DD does only for me.

However, I think I have taken the cake excuse too far...I'm heavier now than I was the day after I gave birth. Whoops!!

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2009 15:10

dd had a dusting of cocoa on her shoulder the other day

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2009 15:14

think lenin is feeding babies of different ages, not twins

chocolaterabbit · 10/11/2009 15:42

for me, after the horror that was bfing DD, the fact that DS is 4 weeks and hasn't had a drop of formula but ios 2.5 lbs above his birth weight. Just feel really pleased that we have kept going and makes me plan to keep on...

Also cake nd Hot Milk nursing bras!

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2009 15:45

good for you cr
