no need to ever wash your baby's face, just wait until she pulls off and gets squirted, rub it in, et voila!

The only time (apart from being pg) I can put on weight is while bfing. I get sooo hungry.

ladylush · 08/11/2009 15:15

LG 3.6 years?

Bobo23 · 08/11/2009 19:06

This thread has reminded me of the tragic lack of cake in my life. As my DS is 10 months and eating solids I felt like my cake entitlement had dropped off but now I realise that this is a tragic error. Crazy, crazy fool.

Bobo23 · 08/11/2009 19:08

I should add that I'm still breastfeeding DS at least 4 times a day!! and recently he's been poorly with a chest infection so I've been feeding all the time. He's now radiant and happy as larry whilst I'm a cakeless shadow of my former self.

blinder · 08/11/2009 19:28

this noise, 'wahwaahwaahWA[gulp]' followed by ten minutes continuous eye-contact with the odd grin peeking from behind boob.

the feeling of relief after dd's first 6 hour sleep and boobs like marble - ouch...aaah!

not having to pack the bottle warmer that came with expensive baby bag. filling the space with other crap instead.

definitely going to start eating daily cake now ! why did no-one TELL me it was compulsory?

blinder · 08/11/2009 19:36

ooh and getting a high score on my ipod game whilst 'feeding the BABY!' a la Waynetta Slob

rachels103 · 08/11/2009 22:06

The best thing? Snoozing, feeding and snuggling in bed 'til 7.30 or 8am whilst dh gets up at 6 with ds1.

I fully intend to pretend I've fed ds2 in the night long after he has stopped, so I get a lie in forever.

Please don't anyone tell my dh that it's far easier feeding a snoozy baby when more or less asleep myself at 3am than it is getting up at 6 with a hyperactive 3 year old. My cover must not be blown!

Jacksmama · 09/11/2009 03:46

rachels

Morning snuggles with baby nursing are the best. [soppy emoticon]

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 09/11/2009 07:21

When the baby wakes in the night and you can stun them with milk and go back to sleep rather than pacing the floor faffing with bottles.

DS has the sweetest smile when he knows he is getting milkies.
I just love the was he looks up at me with his big blue eyes when he is feeding.

I love the fact that I save around £450 not using formula in his first year.

I love the fact at 22mo he is still feeding now, and apart from the odd cold and a very mild bout of chicken pox he has never been ill.

BTW my periods came back at 9weeks... and he insists on me being awake when I feed him. Still it's nice that he is in a bed and not a cot as I just snuggle in with him if he wakes during the night, give some booby and we both drop off to sleep all snuggled up

Beveridge · 09/11/2009 10:42

No bedhead hair - nightfeeding in bed with subsequent co-sleeping means I don't lurch about like I used to. sometimes I get to the end of the day and realise i haven't brushed my hair at all because it looked ok!

whomoved - love the phrase about stunning them with milk!

DD has her first cold (my fault, i suspect for taking her into work[a school]at the end of last week)and when she wouldn't settle last night despite being calpol-ed up to the maximum dose, i just kept shoving boobs at her.which at least kept her quiet, even if i suspect she didn't sleep that well (she is currently conked out on me as i [try to] type).but me and her dad did!(happy parents, happy baby!)

Beveridge · 09/11/2009 10:47

oh, and sharing an entire tub of ben and jerry's with your DH on many an evening...i haven't lost much baby weight but i'm not getting any heavier either!

PrettyCandles · 09/11/2009 10:54

When they get a bit older and develop a relationship with your breasts that is quite independant of their relationship with you, and they start greeting the breasts, patting them, saying hello and burbling away to the breasts (in baby-language of course)...oh it is soooooo cute!

Ds2 called them "my maas". Not "mummy's maas", they were his maas! But I didn't mind sharing

MaHobbit · 09/11/2009 12:00

Eating lots of cake and being skinnier than ever.

In the early days - needing to have a bath every evening to help let down and deal with the cluster feeding

Cake

Having a permanent excuse for not having to pail the nappies/put them in the machine. I never knew cloth nappies were so easy. You just BF while dad deals with them. Simple.

Did I mention cake?

Never having to go home because the baby needs feeding and you don;t have another bottle with you

Cake

StealthPolarBear · 09/11/2009 12:06

trivial reasons to tandem feed - NO ENGORGEMENT
and no nipple twiddling
DS hasnt fed for the last couple of days (ill) & i've been in agony!

Have just returned to the thread after the weekend and it's still making me , particularly the fact that noone seems to have mentioned cake .
Really looking forward to BFing again next year, hopefully it'll be a bit easier this time as only on party is trying to figure out what on earth they're doing.

StealthPolarBear · 09/11/2009 12:14

We can always get DS to bed with a call of mi mi time

StealthPolarBear · 09/11/2009 12:15

oh yes, Betty, cake, how could we have forgotten!

Have you tried cuddly toys Lenin? My DD used to love to feed with a duckling on one hand and a cow or zebra in the other .

StealthPolarBear · 09/11/2009 12:45

thats a good idea - ds feeds ith cars in hand but drops them down my top or on dd's head! soft toys an improvement i think

Jackstini · 09/11/2009 12:49

Loving these reasons
Also, the 'huge grin & immediate diving down the top' when you have been away from them.
dd patting them as ds feeds
