no need to ever wash your baby's face, just wait until she pulls off and gets squirted, rub it in, et voila!

Yes to all of these

Not having to worry about having enough food for baby on a day out- you make it as you go along.

Has anyone mentioned cake yet?

TheBlairSnitchProject · 05/11/2009 20:32

Not having to wash/serilise/prepare bottles.

Not having to find somewhere to warm bottles when out and about.

Not having to decide between 40 different types of formula and being told by someone that you've got it wrong.

Not having to pay for formula

The ha-ha-ha giggle my DS makes when he sees the 'boogies' (christened that by his cousin)

The opportunity to get my very irritating traditional father-in-law to shut up and leave the room. I revel in my power!!!

And cake. Really don't forget the cake.

arolf · 05/11/2009 20:43

having a nice warm snuggly baby hugging your boob whilst he feeds - great on these cold winter nights.

chocolate consumption needn't be limited.

and has anyone mentioned cake?

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2009 21:04

LG, unfortunately at the moment I have to sit up ith the light on
No, sweetnitanitro , cake you say??

BonzoDoodah · 05/11/2009 21:40

Wearing breast pads - so that even on a chilly day you can wear a fitted T-shirt and no-one knows you are cold

StealthPolarBear · 06/11/2009 08:38

hmm..not a fan. never found any that don't crumple in a ball in the bottom of my bra (if they're sticky) or pop out of the top (if not)
take your point though (pun intended )

duchesse · 06/11/2009 09:03

Stealth- lovely soft bamboo washable ones are the answer. They seriously keep you warm...

TheBlairSnitchProject · 06/11/2009 09:09

Stealth - I've just bought some silicone 'Lilipadz' that stick to your boob rather than your bra. Not tried them out for real yet as I have another few weeks before DD is born but I've had a "dry" run and they felt comfy and stayed put...

BonzoDoodah · 06/11/2009 09:13

ooh Duchesse where do you get the bamboo ones from? My washable ones can only be worn at night as they make me look like I have 2 inch wide nipples - not a good look.

satansauruswrecks · 06/11/2009 09:54

When DD has been feeding for a bit, and is so wrapped up in "nom nom nom milk milk milk" that she seems to temporarily forget where she is.She then has to pop off for a quick check to see just where/who is providing all that lovely milk - the initial look of suprise - "It's you!" followed by that huge gummy grin, gets me every time!

duchesse · 06/11/2009 10:53

Bonzo- they're here. Quite wide as well but they don't look like nipples.

StealthPolarBear · 06/11/2009 10:55

might have to look into those!
Seem to be managing without at the moment though, will see ho it is when she's a bit older

AliGrylls · 06/11/2009 11:03

another trivial reason - lost most of my preggo weight already and I have been eating like a pig. It's fantastic!

StealthPolarBear · 06/11/2009 11:05

I have been eating like 2 pigs and so stayed fairly steady!
But with DS I just ate normally and lost loads - might have to cut down a bit and see if it works this time...

AliGrylls · 06/11/2009 11:06

and as satans stated, gummy grin and big blue eyes of love.

StealthPolarBear · 06/11/2009 12:44

see this thread for another one - no bra underwires to break your machine
(well I know some people do, but I don't)

TheBlairSnitchProject · 06/11/2009 13:14

Ooh no. Non Underwired bra's are the worst bit about breastfeeding!

I was so glad to get some new, wired ones when I was done last time! Have had wired bra's all through this pregnancy too cause I can't stand the flat, saggy boobs I end up with without wires.

Bettymum · 06/11/2009 13:32

Hmm, have to agree with you BlairSnitch. I looked like I had udders for months .

TheBlairSnitchProject · 06/11/2009 14:03

I did go from a DD to a G cup though - and they've stayed that way!!!

notcitrus · 06/11/2009 14:32

The expression on obnoxious SIL's(baby couple months older than mine, a genuine 'too posh to push' example, main priority in life is being thin and beautiful, refused to contemplate bf because it's icky) face when I ordered pudding in the posh restaurant we were in, saying "Well I need to make up for the extra 1000 calories I use up breastfeeding each day!" and she realised she'd missed an excellent trick.

And a big motivator for me - bf is one thing my mum can't tell me how to do!

Jacksmama · 06/11/2009 14:50

Satansaurus - love the "looking around to see where milkies are coming from"

Indith · 06/11/2009 15:08

More cake. Dh has stopped asking where the cake I made has gone when he comes home from work

I love breast pads too, cover your nipples and,now that dd is feeding slightly less and my norks are withering again they can be positioned quite well for a bit of oomph padding

Excited arm waving at the prospect of milk.

The lovely gurgling and chatting when she pulls off and bathes in the resulting flow. That one not quite so good in public though

Confuzzeled · 06/11/2009 15:11

When you bf in public, you get smiles or nods from other woman. It feels like your in a special club.
