My DD is 8 1/2 months old and we both love breastfeeding. I plan to carry on for the foreseeable future and wondered how other mums got on with the "Are you STILL breastfeeding??" comments.

Still feeding DS - he's nearly 14mo.

And if people ask if you're still breastfeeding, say no, but DD is

DS1 for 13 weeks and DS2 for 13 months
I don't actually remember anyone saying anything derogatory about it TBH - theye would have got very short shrift from me if they had!

14 months.

I coped with the 'Still breastfeeding?' commments by smiling sweetly and saying 'Yes, well spotted!' (whilst silently thinking 'and what's it to you, tw&tface?') and changing the subject.

I breastfed DS til he was 18 months (although he was having bottles too).

I think it's sad that mums feel so much pressure not only to breastfeed in the first place but then to give up after a certain time. It's such a personal thing and it's just rude of other people to enforce their own opinions. If anyone unfairly commented on me breastfeeding my 18mo I'd have just told them to sling their hook (or words to that effect ).

Ds1 - 7 months
Ds2 - 6 months
Dd - 12 months
Ds3 - 13 months

Don't think I got far enough for anyone to make the "are you still b/feeding?" comments, especially as the youngest two only got feeds first thing in the morning and last thing at night for most of that time.
