I'm not offended and I know it wasnt personal. I just wanted you to realise there are real people who do what you consider to be odd and bizarre. Of course you are entitled to your opinion but you must accept that by calling other peoples parenting weird, bizarre and odd you will be questioned about this and asked to give reasons.

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 22/02/2009 17:03

True, but then my point was more about the fact that bizzare, unnatural and unnecessary isn't seen as offensive.

Orange is just a word, nit picking is a phrase that you don't know the origins of if you think it's OK to use.

jemart · 22/02/2009 17:04

accepted hercules1, I am silly thoughtless cow. friends?

jemart · 22/02/2009 17:05

Tink I'm begging you, please enlighten us, I want to know now why you find it such an offensive phrase.

hercules1 · 22/02/2009 17:06

tinkerbelle - it is unfair to chastise her for not knowing about nit picking.

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 22/02/2009 17:11

I didn't chastise, just asked her not to use it. Both phrases have their origins in the black slave trade and are bit of a history lesson to go into, which is why I siad they'd need their own thread.

jemart · 22/02/2009 17:14

oh I see, sorry then, did not know that.
Will try not to use in future.

SoupDragon · 22/02/2009 17:49

There's no evidence to support that, Tinkerbellsmum.

SoupDragon · 22/02/2009 17:51

Not a thread about a thread

jemart · 22/02/2009 18:42

Thanks for that bit of research SoupDragon.
See tink, am not racist at all.

moondog · 22/02/2009 18:43

The nit picking thing is utterly ridiculous and detracts from the thread.

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 22/02/2009 19:15

Sorry I never meant for it to take over the tread which is why I said I wouldn't talk about it here.
