Wanted to add: am I the only person here who looked at that picture and thought 'warts'?

Why didn't they use a bun without sesame seeds?

BandofMothers · 16/07/2008 09:37

The bunfight joke, yes I saw it.

Ledodgy, now that law has come in to say bf mums can't be sent away, I guess they felt the need to show they will allow it??? Who knows.
Perhaps it is a strange prop bf campaign

I must say I fed dd2 inmy local MD's on purpose cos someone had been asked to feed in the toilet if she insisted on feeding but no one asked me to stop, and I was all ready with a great retort and everything. Tho an old lady did give me a nasty look ( the only one I ever got) so I held her eye with a "YES????" look on my face and she looked away.

VictorianSqualor · 16/07/2008 09:39

iMum, there is a difference between feeling proud and feeling smug.
I really hope you felt 'proud' about feeding your baby and not 'smug'.
If you think it's ok to be smug that you could feed yet others couldn't then you're a rather heartless person, IMO.

Timefortea2 · 16/07/2008 09:41

Shocking, obscene, sick, off the richter scalle.

Wow, you girls need to get out in the real world a bit more.

i'm sure she meant proud, VS.
bree's son is 7. so is she pg again? that might explain her outbursts?

SuperSillyus · 16/07/2008 09:42

imum, I'm so sorry that you had a stillbirth

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 09:44

a. judgning by donnie's later comments her 'off the richter scale' was tongue in cheek.

b. is is a shocking image, designed, imo, to be so.

c. it's really a matter of opinion as to whether it's obscene.

we all live in the real world, where do you live?

I eat Mcdonald's too, well when i'm not sticking to Slimming World but my breasts have failed to take on the appearance of a burger bun. God perhaps it's a warning notice and not an advert perhaps i'm going to end up with floury baps.

bossybritches · 16/07/2008 09:51

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 09:52

Ledodgy · 16/07/2008 09:53

BK Burgers but McDonald's fries everytime. BK fries used to be nice until they started coating them with that lardy stuff.

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 09:54

Aitch - you don't live in the real world - you live here on mumsnet with all the other regulars who just enjoy a good old argument with just about anybody.

You do all need to get out a bit more. It's a lovely day, go and get out in the sunshine and forget all this crap for once.

Ledodgy · 16/07/2008 09:56

Back to work my arse BB you're off to get a burger.

Slubberdegullion · 16/07/2008 09:59

I remembered. It's smallpox. Maybe McDonalds are telling us they also have a vial of the stuff somewhere stored in a secret bunker.

They are scaring us into eating there, which imo is a daring strategy indeed.

TigerFeet · 16/07/2008 10:00

Bree

Couldn't read this thread and not say anything. I don't think we have really spoken before so I hope you don't think I'm talking out of turn...

Before I start on the negative stuff I want to tell you that I empathise with you wholeheartedly. I have issues myself and see people in RL or on here complaining about a situation that I would love to find myself in - a good example would be that of a very silly friend of mine who had repeated unprotected sex and now has an unwanted pregnancy that will most likely result in a termination. I would chew off my left leg if it meant I could get dh to agree to ttc so to see someone being so careless, someone I like and respect (well up until this anyway) is eating me up inside.

So you see, I can understand your upset but I do think it was ott and misplaced. It is very hard to see people waving in your face something that you can't do or have yourself. But for someone to advocate that something is a good choice (and CHOICE is the important word here and something you clearly didn't have) does not equate to mafia-like behaviour.

I hope you are feeling OK today x

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 10:02

timefortea2, unfortunately i am working to a deadline at the moment and popping on here while i await emails from colleagues. that's in the real world, y'know.

i'd love to be a sahm and just pop out for walks whenever i felt like it, but i can't. because i have to earn money to live In The Real World. okay? now, why don't you go out for a walk yourself? a long one.
