Just came across this

and cant believe it was actually a real advert for Macdonalds in Austria!

OP posts:

yes, extra onion, or if I have a chicken sandwich I ask for 'quarter onion' as 1/4 pounders are the only burgers in Mcd's that have proper onion, the rest of them have some weird dehydrated space age stuff.

It's not a gherkin, it's a pickle but I have no idea. The only person I have ever known to like them is DD.

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 11:04

oh yes, those. i don't like them.

i do like gherkins. i really do. [freak]

Lemontart · 16/07/2008 11:05

oooh I love that gherkin bit I always eat the veggie burgers if "forced" to visit such lowly places and have to ask them to put the gherkin into mine as they never bother with the veggie options, damn them.

Personally while I find the ad pretty low, got to say that as a piece of advertising, it is incredibly successful. Advertising is about getting noticed, creating a reaction, getting their target audience to sit up and mentally think of their company and their product line. This thread shows just how effective it has been. Bet they will be delighted to find out how many other sites their imagery has been linked, seen and commented on.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/07/2008 11:06

Ah, but not in Austria though pecka

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/07/2008 11:11

the purpose is so that I can raid everyone's burgers for their gherkins because they are DELICIOUS!

hunkermunker · 16/07/2008 11:12

OMG, I'm surrounded by freakish gherkin pickle-eating creatures!

I won't eat McD's any more or less than I previously did following this ad [enigma]

VictorianSqualor · 16/07/2008 11:15

Hunker, over here, if we don't give them eye contact they might go away....

I love those pickles but the staff won't sell the pickled ones sans fromage here, sadly.

Crap advert! What's the next one- 'ooo lokk at the pickles opn her?'

VS don't forget nipple police... all after me, if you dont drink milk...

LOL [wink

Had I not been militant DS4 would not still be BF but he is and is no longer on the watch list either for grwoth. Glad I am

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/07/2008 11:26

Maybe there should be a MN meet up in a McDonalds....

Timefortea2 · 16/07/2008 11:27

Hatrick I'm flattered

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 11:28

lol hatrick, i'm always surprised that people can post that sort of thing without going '... hang on... '

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/07/2008 11:28

IKWYM hattie. I reckon a nice Big Mac Meal will shift the tadpole....

Timefortea2 · 16/07/2008 11:30

Slight difference between popping in every now and then and becoming a "regular" and spending half of your life on here though, isn't there?

VictorianSqualor · 16/07/2008 11:32

Ha, yes Hatrick.
'You're spending too much time on teh internets'
'How do you know that? Is it because you are too?'.....

Oh, I used to be like you up until about a year ago.

Then I got a life

sabire · 16/07/2008 11:39

< another strange pickle eating person waves shyly to rest of pickle eating posse>

ExterminAitch · 16/07/2008 11:39

lol, there's none so blind.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/07/2008 11:40

Well indeed hatrick. And of course, there are those who can do a quick glance, and use our 90 wpm typing skills which make it look like we are spending time, when really it takes seconds.

Unlike some who spend ten minutes typing a single post out.....

HumphreyCushioni · 16/07/2008 11:40

I have spent a great deal of time lurking on MN, gathering statistics, and making a bar graph.

It has lots of colours on it.

Some colours even have more than one shade.

I know exactly who has been spending too much time on MN.

Oh yes, all the info is right there, on the graph.

It proves beyond all shadow of a doubt that some of you are really do need to get out more.

One person even posted in chat and had a thread on the For Sale board within the same hour.

It's an outrage.

Statistics don't lie - 98% of people know that.
