There is a bunch of people who b/feed and who think that is important to them but the mafia/nazi terminology is just sad.

fishie, the cheese is the glue.

butwhybutwhy · 15/07/2008 21:46

I cant say its made me go or think jesus christ that is so so bad.

And I do agree with bree a bit.
Just lately there has been an air of BF smugness and alot of focus on how shit formula is.

I can't work out what it is actually trying to say??

OP posts:
donnie · 15/07/2008 21:49

why is the mafia terminology offensive? I think it is entirely accurate actually.

ExterminAitch · 15/07/2008 21:50

what's good with everything.

and i don't think anyone's said formula is shite. i think they've repeatedly said 'does anyone know what's actually in there?' and no one, not even bree and the much-injured ff mafia have been able to answer that cos the information's not in the public domain for the most part. when bits pop up, we talk about it, ffers and bfers alike. cos some of us don't take offence at, you know, facts.

Snaf · 15/07/2008 21:50

I think it's meant to say that mothers who eat cheeseburgers are Nazis, or something?

fishie · 15/07/2008 21:50

i make buns with egg and sugar for burgers, none of those seeds. wholemeal flour of course. they are also very nice with egg for breakfast.

artichokes · 15/07/2008 21:51

I am not sure it is trying to say anything. I expect the aim is purely to stick in your mind and to do that it is using shock tactics.

I suppose it could be trying to equate the goodness of a BigMac with a mothers' milk but I can't believe they would believe anyone would fall for that.

ExterminAitch · 15/07/2008 21:51

because it's calculated to offend, donnie. as well you know. unless you think that rather than giving their time and support on here for free, you think that hunker and tiktok et al are goombahing their way round MN extorting money with menaces from innocent ffers?

Snaf · 15/07/2008 21:52

Really, donnie? You've had personal experience of encased in cement and thrown in the Hudson River by smug breastfeeders, have you?

And again, I

EffiePerine · 15/07/2008 21:52
fishie · 15/07/2008 21:52

buns no onion, half the sugar and wholemeal. heavenly.

expatinscotland · 15/07/2008 21:53

goodwitheverythingrox

ExterminAitch · 15/07/2008 21:53

yeah, i just thought 'wowsers' when i saw the ad, wasn't actually completely sure what they were trying to say (as the idea that the burgers equate with bm etc is so ludicrous), so assume it's simply a shock tactic etc, rather than a solid campaigning line.

LittleMissBliss · 15/07/2008 21:53

Bree get over yourself. Lots of mums on here help other mums with bf problems and give them support and advice that they maybe wouldn't be able to access so readily in RL. Most mums can BF lots choose not to that is life. So please get a life.

EyeballsintheSky · 15/07/2008 21:53

Nazis, Austria...oh dear....

expatinscotland · 15/07/2008 21:53

mmm, a hot, buttered bun, just off the BBQ grill.

butwhybutwhy · 15/07/2008 21:53

do you not think that it comes across as "eurghh, you feed your baby powdered cows milk, that gross how could you"?

I think so.

artichokes · 15/07/2008 21:54

The mafia terminology is offensive because many of the regular posters on the BF boards are women who work tirelessly to give much needed advice and support to women who want to keep breastfeeding but are struggling. To equate then to underworld criminals who use violence and intimidation to further their own interests is offensive.

divastrop · 15/07/2008 21:55

ive been saying for years that SMA is made from powdered McDonalds food.
