I know there will be Oxford MNers I haven't mentioned, forgive me!
There is possibly going to be a breastfeeding picnic arranged for the Oxford area on July 21st.
Can you make it??

ok will do my best. bruised baby and all...

ruty · 21/07/2008 09:43

have emailed you with my number..

BouncingTurtle · 21/07/2008 09:44

Yes and it's not unhygienic to bf in a loo!

VictorianSqualor · 21/07/2008 09:50

Apparently you shouldn't do it on a train, in front of other children

Just listened to the interview. Yay for you VS! I'll be there at around 1pm and I'll be bringing a friend with me who volunteers at the baby cafe. I'm not sure if you can park in the park itself - does anyone know? If not, I'm pretty sure there are some 2-hour spaces on Parks Road nearby.

MrsBadger · 21/07/2008 10:55

you can't take cars into the park itself but there are lots of pay-and-displays:

Museum Road, Keble Road, Blackhall Road £3 up to 2 hours

Mansfield Road (my favourite) £3 up to 3 hours

Norham Gardens, Bradmore Road etc £2.50 up to 3 hours

I wouldn't bother trying St Giles, it's always crammed, but if you manage it it's £3 up to 2 hours

ruty · 21/07/2008 11:13

i'll be there at 12.30 pruners!

vacaloca · 21/07/2008 11:27

Oh thanks MrsB - Norham Gardens is the road I meant. I'm very impressed with your knowledge of parking times/rates for the area!

MrsBadger · 21/07/2008 12:05

oh I cheated, it's via Google from a site for people staying at Keble for conferences etc

JackieNo · 21/07/2008 16:56

So..... how did it go? Or are you all still there ?

Yorky · 21/07/2008 17:10

Picnic was good, nice turnout of friendly people, not all regular MNers so VS must have done a good job with the publicity. Does anyone listen to Jack fm? We had our pictures taken by the Oxford journal and Mail

MrsBadger · 21/07/2008 17:12

I think we are all home now

it was fab

although I missed Pruni, and Harpsi didn't make it as she was with someone in labour

the someone was in labour, not Harpsi

dd hammed it up for the camera, was sick on VictorianSqualor's dd's rabbit, stole a shoe in M&S and then weed in the carseat on the way home

we have had a lovely day

JackieNo · 21/07/2008 17:19

Glad it went well (if a bit messily).

ruty · 21/07/2008 17:35

i was there but had to leave early. sorry i missed many of you..

OxyMoron · 21/07/2008 17:41

Delurking (as one of the non-regular mners) to say hello and it was nice to meet you all today.

BouncingTurtle · 21/07/2008 17:54

Oh dear MrsB - sounds like you went above and beyond
Durham picnic went well!

VictorianSqualor · 21/07/2008 17:58

Hey all, not impressed with the comments on www.oxfordmail.net/news/headlines/display.var.2403774.0.mums_make_breastfeeding_stand_in_parks.php but I think it went fab!

FiL just phoned to tell me he heard me on the radio and thinks I sounded great

Lovely to meet you all, even though DD&DS deserted me toward the end in favour of MrsBadger

JackieNo · 21/07/2008 18:22

Yes, I saw that too.

JackieNo · 21/07/2008 18:23

vacaloca · 22/07/2008 15:18

have you seen the photo in the Oxford Mail?

MrsBadger · 22/07/2008 15:29

oh we are a lovely bunch

VictorianSqualor · 22/07/2008 19:00

EEk!!!!!
Anyone need a copy of the paper?
Apparently it's going out in tomorrows edition, DP can get free copies and may as well make the most of it as he leaves Friday!
