I know there will be Oxford MNers I haven't mentioned, forgive me!
There is possibly going to be a breastfeeding picnic arranged for the Oxford area on July 21st.
Can you make it??

Haven't heard back from parks, is there anyone else I should be ringing? Anything else that needs organising?

VictorianSqualor · 09/07/2008 13:55

I think it's just the parks we need permission from now.
You could try calling the babycafes and putting the word out?
But I'd imagine that would be better off being done once we have confirmation of where it will be held.
Could contact them with a place tbc? We know the date is the 21st.
Should we do around noon as well to coincide with the other picnic?
Well, say 1pm so harpsi can get there in time?
DP has spoken to the editor of the oxford mail. He has said as long as there is a decent story in it (i.e not just three women having a picnic) then they'll come but as DP works with him that can be easily sorted.

Bump?
Where the heck are all the people in/near Oxford?

OP posts:
Yorky · 09/07/2008 18:40

Could be a small and intimate gathering!

Yorky · 09/07/2008 18:44

Do we want placards or something to say why we're there?
Wet weather alternatives?

Ready4anotherCoffee · 09/07/2008 20:35

could be

Will pass the word about in toddlers on mon. Am not sure if i have a contact for the babycafe here...might mean attempting a brief visit

VictorianSqualor · 09/07/2008 21:31

Well Harpsi works there so could put the word out there possibly.
I'll email ruty, mrsB, catz and vacaloca, and CAT practicallyperfect and wmmc(who I think is possibly in hospital having a baby so may not come!)

Glad the breastfeeding is getting better ruty, would be great to meet some real people

ruty · 10/07/2008 09:02

see it would be a bit redundant to have to produce a bottle and keep saying 'it is EBM, not formula, honestly....'

VictorianSqualor · 10/07/2008 10:30

Ruty, if you don't feel comfortable with feeding there, then don't, if you want to use a bottle, then do.
It's numbers we need, not people feeling uncomfortable

VictorianSqualor · 10/07/2008 11:13

OP posts:
ruty · 10/07/2008 11:33

oh good they can destroy everything together and we can blame it on each other.

Yorky · 10/07/2008 11:38

Spoke to nice lady at the parks today, she said yesterdays message made her laugh and asked if I was a new mum!
She can't see a problem but needs to run it past the supervisor because of press involvement, and he's on leave this week. So kind of an amber light for go ahead

Would your 4yr olds like an 18month old apprentice destructive force?

ruty · 10/07/2008 11:44

I'll bring a prize for the child who causes the most devastation...

VictorianSqualor · 10/07/2008 12:00

I've posted on The Other Side about this too, apparently their local boards are better.
