Text (page 61):

Are you breast-feeding, Katie?

No, it's brilliant I have 20 crates of teats and bottles -- I don't have to sterilise or heat anything, you literally take the teat out of the pack, screw it on, throw it away. I don't care what people say - you don't have to breast-feed. They gave me a tablet that dries your milk up so my boobs haven't hurt or leaked or anything.

Peter: Junior didn't breast-feed and he's turned out fine.

So why did you decide not do breast-feed?

I don't want a baby drinking from me - the thought of it makes me feel really funny. I think only a certain person could handle my knockers.

I think everyone should just leave the poor cow alone. Whilst she is a role modol for some, not every young girl is going to say 'i won't bf because Jordon doesn't'. Why do women think young gilrs are so stupid?

LIZS · 05/08/2007 21:30

like every new mum is offered formula and freebie bottles by the crateload Either some bright spark at SMA solicited her to endorse their prodicts (big bonus coming their way) or her pr contacted them. Such deals aren't that unusual , multiple births used to attract "sponsorship" .

northender · 05/08/2007 21:32

Complaint to ASA done. Actually cherrypie people are influenced by what they see slebs doing else there wouldn't be a market for slebs in advertising would there?

lissie · 05/08/2007 21:32

its not that sweetcherrypie, its the blatant and illegal product placement thats the real issue here!

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:34

Illegel?

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:34

Sorry Illegal?

LIZS · 05/08/2007 21:35

Advertising or price promotion of infant formula is illegal.

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:37

I don't see that as her fault, surely it's the formula companys fault? People just love an excuse to bitch about Katie Price whether she deserved it or not IMHO.

divastrop · 05/08/2007 21:38

its not just women though,or girls for that matter.what about the men who discourage their partners from bf as breasts are supposed to be 'sexy'?i am going to leave now as this is making my blood boil and i dont want to start making personal comments about certain slebs.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 05/08/2007 21:39

but she is colluding with the formula comapany for her own gain-can you not see that?

lissie · 05/08/2007 21:41

by having jordan feeding her baby from a bottle with SMA emblazoned on it while rattling about how she hates the idea of bf and formula is just as good she is promoting not just SMA but formula as a whole. i am pro-choice. every woman has the right to feed their child as they choose, but these laws are there for a reason and OK/SMA/Jordan have broken them.

moondog · 05/08/2007 21:41

I think other people have been used in past too, although not so blatantly.
Have seen plenty of photos of well known people fedding babies from bottles with logo on it.

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:41

But if people are stupid enough to fall for it then the jokes on you...

lissie · 05/08/2007 21:42

and katie price is no fool. she has made a lot of money and has great business acumen. she is not the one being exploited, the readers are.

ruddynorah · 05/08/2007 21:42

i have filled in the asa complaint form.

LIZS · 05/08/2007 21:43

Have you seen the pics - they are posed to display the logos prominently . She may not have known it was illegal but the OK editor and her pr should and no doubt she will ahve approved the phtoos/article. Soemwhere along the lien she has allowed ehrslef to be used as a vehicle btu I don't think anyone on here has actually made a personal attack on her or even her decision(disappoitment/resignation at that perhaps). Complaints are being sent to Advertisign Standards and OK magazine not her.

lissie · 05/08/2007 21:44

subliminal advertising is very powerful, why do you buy the brands that you do? or rather why did you try them in the first place?

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:45

Well not because of no celeb thats for sure and i can't believe how people buy into the whole 'so and so advertises that so i'll buy it' crap!

LIZS · 05/08/2007 21:45

Would be interst ed to know form MNHQ how many of the Gokart surveys since the op have named Jordan as the least likely to influence them to buy a product!

ruddynorah · 05/08/2007 21:46

love, you are naive.

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:48

Wouldn't the ones who buy into the whole 'celeb advertise' thing be the ones are nieve?

I know what goes on and i know why companys use celebs to sell products, i just don't see how people can be stupid enough to buy into it!

lissie · 05/08/2007 21:49

so you dont look at a celebs hair and think, i'd love hair like that then when L'Oreal or Garnier have them front an ad campaign try it? when jennifer aniston fronted L'Oreal sales shot through the roof, and kick started the whole "because youre worth it" thing

ruddynorah · 05/08/2007 21:50

that makes you naive.

advertisers spend a fortune on using celebs to promote their stuff. hence goodie bags and freebies for them. hence m&s (who i work for) using celebs in their ads. it works.

lissie · 05/08/2007 21:51

its not stupid, you need to buy a shampoo, how do you pick which one? do heinz beans taste any different to asda own? you buy initially because of advertising, whether you continue buying that product depends on whether you like it.

sweetcherrypie · 05/08/2007 21:52

I look at celebs hair and think 'i like that, it suits them', i am not going to then rush out and copy the hair cut! I buy a certain shampoo because it works for my hair (alot haven't) and it smells nice and makes it feel good. Not because the latest celeb is advertising it.
