Good apprentice tonight soyo!! Want to go to Dubai now!!

Amazingly baby larle woke as I was going to sleep! Seriously, how does he do that?? So feeding now but it's a bit of a dream feed as he wasn't fully awake.

Sweet dreams everyone!

SoYo · 28/05/2013 23:28

Larle I'm going to attempt a dream feed tonight too in the hope of recreating Sundays night of good sleep. I'm pretty sure it'll fail miserably & I'll regret it but hey, it's worth a go!

Anypants · 29/05/2013 02:16

Hey soyo & larle - how did you get on? I tried to recreate Saturday and Sunday night here with her last feed later than 'normal' and it's done bugger all. Sat and Sun she went to sleep at 10pm and 9pm then woke at 7.30 and.6.30 respectively. So she is quite capable of going 9 &half hours and yet last night and tonight, she's not. Last night was 5 & half and tonight is 4&half. Am hoping she isn't going to regress back to 3 hours or i'm going to lose my mind - I just got my sanity back after some random wakenings last week. Please let this be a blip and let her sleep until 7 after this feed....
I did think maybe she was just having trouble settling herself (she'd wriggled her arms free of the covers) so I initially tried to shhh/pat her back to sleep but at three months she's too young to train to sleep through, right? She wouldn't go back to sleep after 10 mins abd she's been feeding for 25 mins so it must be hunger, right? Pfffffft. I don't know. Confused

SoYo · 29/05/2013 03:27

I dream-fed at midnight & we're already awake so not great, 2hrs earlier than Sunday. Up for 1hr Every 3hrs is starting to really bite.

larlemucker · 29/05/2013 04:40

Baby larle was up at 1 for half an hour and has just woken so massive improvement on last night!!

SoYo · 29/05/2013 05:44

Itsthisbit of the night I start to struggle with, when her last feed was 2hrs ago & I just want to sleeeeeeep.

Anypants · 29/05/2013 05:46

Second feed. She wasn't even crying - just lying there having a conversation with the air, gurgling away very loudly. Terrific. So we're back to every four hours. Not fair.

abi2790 · 29/05/2013 06:30

Well done baby larle!

Ds has just slept from 8 until 6!! I know he won't do it again though! Soto and AnyPants I don't do dream feeds as I find he wakes more often. Do you have a bedtime routine that you start at the same time every night?

OP posts:
larlemucker · 29/05/2013 06:59

Think baby larle might be up for the day. Feeding in an attempt to make I'm sleep but eyes are wide open!!

Last night was much better though, 2.5 hours between feeds instead of one. Maybe we need to give him a bit more purée

Anypants · 29/05/2013 08:03

Yes abi - i've done 'bedtime' for over a month now (bath, feed, story, sleep) and it works well as she knows it's nighttime and has been going to sleep around 8.30 until at least 2 but sometimes until 5 or 6. No two nights are the same though. I've got to try and get consistent with daytime feeds. Currentlt every three hours but no set times Blush

Emilythornesbff · 29/05/2013 09:33

Well done babylarle

And abi
Impressive.

abi2790 · 29/05/2013 18:50

any Ds is almost 6 months and still doesn't feed to a routine in the day! Sometimes it's hourly, sometimes every 3 hours.

We've started moving house today. I'm shattered!

OP posts:
lazzaroo · 29/05/2013 19:05

I am relieved to hear that abi, we're also nearly at 6 months with no routine. I don't know if we should be trying harder with that now we've started weaning.

Last night was more of the same for us. I'm beginning to give up ever thinking it's going to improve. She's had immunisations today so hoping she doesn't suffer tonight because of that.

I am seriously fed up of dreading night times. I should be relaxing now but I just know it's going to be another terrible night.

Anypants · 29/05/2013 20:50

Am ever hopeful for a restful night tonight - have followed the pattern of feeding and sleep from Saturday (when she slept until 7.30am) but every minute past 8.30 she gets unhappier. She's on her last feed niw so should be asleep by 9.30. Just hope it fills her up enough until morning.... Sleepy dust to all Hmm

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 30/05/2013 01:17

Why have I only just found this thread?Shock
Hi all, I'm so glad I've found something to occupy myself during the night feeds as I'm finding them pretty tough and scaring myself when I nod off with DS asleep on me!

He's 7 weeks old now and still feeding every 2 hours or so through the night. I'll occasionally get a 9:30pm to 2am full sleep from him but not tonight unfortunately!

He's had a pretty exhausting day bless him and didn't get much of a sleep through the day. I'm at the GP's tonight as DH is away and they have done an amazing job of settling DS, finally getting him to sleep at 12am. I naively thought I'd get in a good couple of hours sleep!

I now have the mission of putting him down in to his Moses basket without waking him and having to start all over again Hmm

iamci · 30/05/2013 01:51

hope you managed ifatfirst. I'm just going to try a move from bed to basket now. hoping he'll stay asleep!

SoYo · 30/05/2013 04:33

Second feed here but over 4hrs since last so I'm happy with that. Hope everyone's getting a decent stretch of snooze. We've got a 4hr car journey in the morning to try & coordinate with baby, pup & the ridiculous amount of stuff that comes everywhere with them both. Fun!

larlemucker · 30/05/2013 04:36

We've ended up co-sleeping tonight as kept getting transfer fails.

Seems quiet on here, hope everyone's sleeping

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 30/05/2013 04:43

Poor lamb must have been knackered as soon as I posted my last message I put him in his Moses basket and he didn't flinch! Smile

He's just woken up for a feed which is pretty good going. I'm just hoping that he finishes before the sun comes up as its impossible to get him back down when there's light round the curtains - he just wants to sit and look and coo. It's so sweet but not ideal at 5am!

Anypants · 30/05/2013 04:58

Welcome ifatfirst and iamci - you've come to the right place.
First feed here - muuuuuuch better than last night. She's gone from 9.30 until just now so I got an extra 3 hours from her - splendid! I hope we get a bit more though as I too have trouble convincing DD that it's not daytime yet...
Right, who's got the hob nobs? Biscuit

Anypants · 30/05/2013 05:01

Oh ans good luck soyo - better start getting ready now if you want ro leave the house before midday... Wink

Anypants · 30/05/2013 05:03

Good grief - my typing is getting worse. Apologies

lazzaroo · 30/05/2013 07:47

Morning all & welcome newbies! Another terrible night here. Lost track of wake ups but pretty sure it's not hunger as she's not really interested in feeding by the early hours. Not sure what I've done to deserve a 2nd terrible sleeper!

any what's your magic feeding & sleep pattern?!

soyo we have a long journey to make tomorrow. It should be 3 hours but have a feeling with feeding & toilet stops it's going to be considerably longer!! Hope you get on ok.

Anypants · 30/05/2013 08:16

lazza - I made sure she fed for half an hour every three hours yesterday (ignoring the early hours) at 7.30, 10.30, 1.30, 4.30 then 7pm, (had some dinner) bath and top up at 8.30, then story but she was already asleep by then. She had 30 minute power naps at 11.30 (in the car) then 1pm and 3pm.
I'm on track again this morning so hopefully it'll work again today!

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 08:32

Morning all. Welcome to newcomers.

Missed you guys last night. It's so hard when babythorne won't settle. She's also taken to fussing at the breast and pulling at my hair so discomfort now accompanies exhaustion.
I don't really feel human.

Here any Brew Biscuit

God luck soyo we're off up north on Saturday. I should start getting ready in a minute. Can't bear the idea of packing tbh.
