Still not sleeping very well, although has improved a little. Don't have as many wake ups though or the energy to post in the night! So, am bowing out of this thread but didn't want to just disappear Smile

Naps are still random & she's still up at about 5am Confused. go back to work in a couple of weeks Sad so hoping for a miracle between now and then!!

Hope things are improving for others.

So it's 2.50 am and baby larle is wide awake and chatting as he has been woken up by a big poo. Oh the joys!!

Little bit worried though as his poos have been really mucousy (sorry if TMI) the past few days but he doesn't seem to have a cold

Hi all, old & new! Not absent due to sleeping. Far from it! Terrible nights continue. Baby lazza almost crawling & loves being up on her feet trying to take little steps! So am hoping its developmental!? (clutching at straws!). Also trying gentle sleep training & not feeding at every wake up. Ok when DH here to share the load....not so great when he's away.

Our naps are completely random and unpredictable. The other day she went down in morning for 2.5 hours! Today it was 40 mins! Confused

Hi Remembering, I'm the same as Larle with very limited naps so definitely get some rest while you're getting them. I'm temporarily completely exhausted so not really posting too much overnight but I'll be back soon I'm sure.

Baby larle is a terrible napper!! Rarely sleeps longer than 45 mins and for months would only nap on me!!

Thanks Larle Smile
I'm keen to make sure BF is well established before introducing a bottle but the plan is for DH to do a midnight ish feed so I get a good early sleep. Naps in the day is my route to maintaining sanity right now.
I'm coping ok just nice to have something to do while I'm up :-)

Welcome remembering and congratulations!!

Anyone is welcome to join. I wrote a post just like yours when baby larle was about a week old. It does improve eventually!! Can you express so someone else can do a feed and you go to bed?

Morning! Can anyone join this thread? I've only read the most recent few posts and not sure if there are other new mums/newborn feedings on here. My DD is 8days old and I'm up every 2-3 hours overnight for 30-40 min feeds. I knew it would be tiring but I'd chop off my hand for a 3+ hour stretch of sleep right now...

Oh my god, baby larle has just woken up after going to bed at 7.30!!!!

I think that's the longest he had slept in one go since his first night!!!!!

Now I have to try and get him back to sleep as I am not getting up at 2am!!!

Oh no! At least it's not wobbling anymore & free dental is definitely a silver lining. Hope you don't have anymore tummy upset & get some sleep. We're still battling bedtime here!

Ended up at emergency dentist last night! He has removed wobbly bit of tooth and I have a temporary filling which looks like I've stuck a piece of chewing gum on my tooth!!

Looks like I'll need a crown, thank god you get free dental treatment for a year after giving birth!!!

Baby larle has had a dodgy tummy today, this morning we were on hourly nappy changes. Thankfully no pooing since 2 and he has eaten loads for his tea!!!

Hope you are all well

Ouch Larle! Is it still in place? We had a horrible night last night & I can't get her down tonight. Boo.

Not a good week.
Last night I had a small piece of chocolate from the fridge. When I bit into it it felt like something got stuck between my teeth. Flossed and it wasn't any better so went to bed.
Just been out to lunch and it still felt like there was something between my teeth when I chewed on that side, it was really uncomfortable, came home and flossed and something hard pinged out.
Fab, I thought, I've got it out. But when I looked it was a bit of filling Shock now the front part of my tooth is wobbling as it is no longer attached to the filling and I can't get in to see the dentist until weds ShockShockHmm
Have to now chew in the other side, which is sensitive, and pray tooth doesn't fall out before weds

Pregnancy really messes with your body!!!

Have a look at Doidy cups Larle, I know a lot of people that have had success with them & DD is making a good start it seems!

Report
larlemucker · 01/08/2013 16:42

We've tried a sippy cup and he hates it!! The one we have you need to suck though so thinking I might just try him on a cup at meal times.

Never thought to give him milk in a cup, not sure how that will work at nursery though

lazzaroo · 01/08/2013 12:02

That's great larle. DD refused bottles so we're going straight to cups too. She's been practicing with water at mealtimes and now she's getting the hang of it I'm contemplating weaning too. I went straight to cup with dd1 but can't for the life of me remember how I went about it!

Report
SoYo · 01/08/2013 10:33

Ah well done Larle. I've decided to skip bottles completely & so the weaning onto a sippy cup started today!! I've got a long time to do it so hopefully we'll get there in the end.

Hi all

Lazza we are doing well so far with bottles. He has 7-8oz at about 4pm, boobs feel fine!!!

Report
larlemucker · 29/07/2013 12:55

You weren't to know though. I'm sure the little baby will be fine.

Little man is doing well with food, spag bol and garlic bread for tea the other night. It went everywhere but he loved the garlic bread and the courgette. Last night he had Cumberland sausage and this morn rice cakes and hoummous (sp?), getting adventurous now!!!

Thanks larle after half hour wait & then dr calling a colleague for second opinion, they decided it's roseola. A viral infection, which will hopefully now subside. Feel terrible now though as it's infectious & we went visiting friends yesterday and they've got new little baby Sad. From what I've read she's not infectious once symptoms appear so hope we don't make him poorly.

So, little ones temp has finally settled down but now she has a rash all over her tummy. It's probably (hopefully!) nothing but got a dr's appointment just to be sure. They're such a worry!
