A brand spanking new thread for midnight ramblings, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more Grin

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 02/12/2012 04:44

Up again here only an hour after he finally went down - what's that all about! Done nappy and now feeding but he's been very noisy and fussy about it!

It's my brothers 21st today and we are going to the Marco Pierre White restaurant in the hotel where we got married for lunch - looks like I will be falling asleep in my carrots Confused

funchum8am · 02/12/2012 05:32

also feeding again here after more of babyfunch thrashing about in pain. Have now decided it is reflux as well as wind, I need to get her back to the doctor as it has got bad again after a few days of fewer issues Sad

Have a lovely time at the restaurant mrsn, sounds fab!

goat it sounds like Kid is growing up fast! I cannot imagine babyfunch trying to hold her own bottle but it will happen soon enough!

Smallgreenone · 02/12/2012 06:08

Ah little kid sounds so sweet helping you out like that! I'm so glad it's 6 and not 5 although I'd really rather it was 7! He wasn't too bad though I can certainly cope with those wake ups if he keeps it up trouble is he isn't consistent and tonight will probably be different again- they like to keep us on our toes don't they!
I've got him in bed with me now so going to try and get a little bit more sleep before we start our day. Not doing a great deal, DH will be back after lunch and I need to get over to pay my Christmas party money to one of the girls who runs a baby group. I've been meaning I do it all week and she doesn't live far away I'm just a bit useless as it requires driving and I can't be bothered to put petrol in. Can't believe we are in December already!

missingmymarbles · 02/12/2012 06:30

Wow! Another three hours! Going to try for a bit longer but she's messing at this feed, not really feeding just holding boob in mouthHmm

Ameybee · 02/12/2012 08:06

Tool me till 425 to get DS back to sleep Sad he actually started to get overtired and was screaming for 30 mins! I took him downstairs in the end and held him in front of our fish tank - this is his new favourite thing, he stares then conks out! DH slept in with DD from 2 as she woke and has just told me he's tired because she had a bad night snoring and kicking him sounds familiar in our bed .....Angry But that's only because he got in the single bed with her & couldn't be arsed to pull the truckle bed out!! Anyway he came back in here at 5 then DD just came in & is like a foghorn so woke up DS who was sleeping peacefully finally... Groan! X

MrsNPattz · 02/12/2012 08:52

Thanks funch!

Up for the day here. I'm excited for my brother waking up and giving him his presents! I hate it when feelings are diluted though due to tiredness, usually the happy ones, if you know what I mean!

My friend had a little boy last night, a month early! So he is in Neonatal at the moment - hoping everything is ok!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 02/12/2012 16:03

Welll, helllloooooooo! How are you all doing? waves extra hard, I bring virtual doughnuts, Baileys hot chocolate and some mince pies... :)

I completely fell of this thread, not for any good reason I might add, Poor MiniPop is poorly again, he just recovered from his baby bronchitis , so we started to wean him again and he's developed chronic nonspecific diarrhoea, which we think is caused by the apple puree we decided to start weaning him on (baaaaaad choice :()

So I've been dealing with about 10 or 11 pooey nappies a day, so feeding it taking an hour, and during the night it's all I can do to get him changed and fed let alone try and focus on my phone to read/post... Confused

Hey ho another challenge, it wouldn't be fun without them would it?

If I can pull it together, I promise to try not to fall off the next thread - part 5 already, blimey! These un-sleepy babies, eh?

MRsN Hope your friends little one is ok, they're in the best place. :)

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 02/12/2012 17:08

mrsn happy birthday to your brother and hope you all had a lovely meal (without anyone falling asleep in the veg).
Congratulations to your friend on her little boy, and as minipop says, he is in the right place.
Lovely to see you again minipop even if for the wrong reasons Xmas Sad Are you still trying to wean LO? That sounds so tricky. Are you getting some time for yourself too?
funch sorry to hear about baby funch, hope a trip to the dr sorts it out. Kid had reflux and we used gaviscon for some weeks, but he grew out of it remarkably quickly, especially for a prem. so this too will pass!
My big news today is that I am again a red head... Xmas Smile

Susieloo · 02/12/2012 17:42

Last feed before bed for both me and babyloo. Naps have totaled about an hour and half today if that so hence the early bed. Lovely to hear from you minipop and it sounds like you've had a rough time, I thought you had graduated from the thread and were catching up on some sleep!!! Forgot to say when I posted the other night mrsn that its a great idea about counseling, really hope it helps.

I have to go to bed as soon as babyloo is settled for my own sanity tonight, so tired and really hoping for an end to the up 4 times a night thing, he's been feeding a lot today so I think it's starting to not be enough, if I can hold of until December 10th to wean him it will be a miracle.

Sorry not to name check everyone and hoping for good nights all round, good luck everyoneSmile

Smallgreenone · 02/12/2012 18:09

Loving the festive smileys Xmas Grin!
Hi minipops, I thought you'd graduated too. I wonder how long we'll all be here for...............
Early bed for baby small due to poor napping. Attempting transfer now........

funchum8am · 02/12/2012 18:20

Hi minipopsmum! Sorry to hear minipops is poorly, I hope recovery is vv quick.

susieloo have a lovely early night Smile

Bedtime feed now which is normal time for us. We tried bath straight after a nap at 5 ans she has stayed awake beautifully ever since playing with my mum. she seems to have realized that her arms belong to her so was happily batting away at her mobile, gurgling and smiling Smile

So, hoping for a bit more sleep tonight as she hasn't been asleep all afternoon as usual.

Need to think of a Christmas name to change to .... any ideas?

snack tip: bought some almondy mince pies at the market today.. highly recommended!

Smallgreenone · 02/12/2012 18:34

Transfer fail

Susieloo · 02/12/2012 19:05

Not sure if this is 1st feed of the night or a second attempt at last feed before bed! I don't have Christmas smileys, only the new smiley faces and I kind of miss the old ones.

missingmymarbles · 02/12/2012 19:54

Missmarbles been in bed half an hour. She was desperate but I imagine I will have to deal with the 45 intruder; hope not though. Also hoping for further improvement on not a bad night last night. She has a huge poonami at 11 but then slept til 3.30, smooth transfer til 6.30 when I lifted her in with me for another cheeky, what turned out to be, 2 hoursGrin

Susie, I am also trying to hang on til 5 months (11th) but not sure we'll manage it. I'm sure she's about ready.

Good to see you Mini. Hope Minipop is well again soon.

No doubt see you all later.

MrsNPattz · 02/12/2012 20:17

We have come up to bed, little fella is sound asleep on me but I am expecting transfer failure! I am shattered today and that mixed with bad eyes anyway mean I am struggling to keep them open! I like to check in though Grin really hoping for a better night than last night as we have a long journey tomorrow.

The meal today was lovely, I had Squash velouté with toasted pumpkin seeds and warm bread, turkey with trimmings and then chocolate fondant with white chocolate ice cream - was delicious!

mini hi and welcome aboard again although sorry it's because you are still not getting lots of sleep!

I don't have Christmas smilies either Sad

elvislives2012 · 02/12/2012 20:26

Hi all. Can I join? Long time lurker here. Currently EBFing DD aged 6 weeks. She loves waking every two hours. I don't. We are trying to find a happy medium. At a wedding today and just finished scoffing a load of choclatey gooey ness- goes a long way to help my insomnia Grin

Susieloo · 02/12/2012 21:09

Welcome elvisSmilenice to have you on boardGrin

Your meal sounds v good mrsn. I have just had a very boring marmite sandwich and a glass of milk in a vain attempt to help me sleep. Was crying with tiredness at 7am and now wide awake-grrrrrrr so frustrating. Babyloo fed for 45 minutes at 7 so hoping he will make it to 12 or even 7am hahahahahahahaha, may be slightly hysterical now...........

MrsNPattz · 02/12/2012 21:21

I think we have someone's 45 minute intruder visiting - the last couple of nights I have just fallen asleep and little man wakes up!! Sound like yours? As I will return ASAP haha

Susie oh no - hope you fall asleep soon and I hope the next time you look at the clock it's 7 Grin

Welcome Elvis! I hope we will keep you company until your nights improve Smile

MiniPopsMum2012 · 02/12/2012 21:37

MrsN lunch sounds great, I am starving. My not-so-D-P was meant to have put dinner on while I sorted the Minione out, but he didn't so now I'm sitting here starving.. hrumph!
Yes Goat we started weaning a while back but then he got bronchitis, so we had to stop, then neo natal consultant said we need to start again,
so tried apple puree, but that seems to have caused his upset tummy :(, so we're onto porridge now - and back to square one, so starting again
Very [envious] of the new hair, I desparately need to get to the hairdressers
Susieloo - four times a night? ouch, hope yu get an improvement tonight
thanks funch, fingers crossed for a bit more sleep for you tonight, too
Small Boo to transfer fail... :(
Hey Marbles sounds like a fairly good night last night, we also had a sneeky 2 hour lie in this morning, managed to convined MiniPop to go back to sleep on me in bed, so I could doze for a little while longer
Oh Susieloo I really want marmite now, we've not gone any though..bah. Hope you get to sleep soon.

Xmas Grin
Susieloo · 02/12/2012 22:00

And feeding againHmm I have come to the conclusion that the reason I can't sleep is because babyloo is so congested he is keeping me awake because he is so noisy, my back is also really bad at the moment and we don't have any bf friendly painkillers in the house, this could be a long night.......

funchum8am · 02/12/2012 22:24

susie I know the feeling about not being able to sleep even though you have earlier been on your knees with fatigue...I can't sleep between about 2 and 4am these days even when babyfunch does sleep at that time, after 8 weeks of being awake for that stretch.

elvis welcome! Everyone on here is lovely. hopefully we can brighten up your winter nights! I had no idea we had lurkers...helloooo to anyone else reading!Grin

How do you get the Christmas smilies??

MiniPopsMum2012 · 02/12/2012 22:33

funch you can get Christmas smilies by added a f at the beginning of the smilie when you type it out - so grin is fgrin (obviously with the ([])

Ooooh Susie, do you have anyone that could go and get some for you (or a friendly neighbour that might have some?).

I'm the same, on the rare nights where MiniPop doesn't wake up at 4am or 6am I'm wiiiiiiide awake, and can't get back to sleep, it's torture.

Welcome Elvis, sorry for missing you off earlier. Right, I'm about to do supper feed and then head straight to bed. Have had a really shit weekend (in more ways than one), so am really hoping for a good night tonight - as I am sure you all are.

Fingers crossed - and all please have a slice of my Dominos pizza, it's got stuffed crust and everythign...

elvislives2012 · 02/12/2012 23:29

Thanks for the welcome! I love the fact I can picture you all wide awake at some ungodly hour too. Makes me feel less alone Wink
Baby elvis asleep and I am wide awake! Gah it's torture! Must get some shut eye.
Fingers crossed she sleeps for a little while longer...

MrsNPattz · 03/12/2012 00:29

Oh dear feeding again here two hours after put down Confused I'm wondering if it's a growth spurt! I knew my good spell would come to an end Sad

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 03/12/2012 00:58

Hi minipop welcome back, stuffed crust is my absolute favourite Xmas Grin

funch how was the Christmas market? I love markets, we had a French one in town recently which was fabulously full of edible loveliness [rumbling tum emoticon]

I know what you mean small about the lack of consistency, I often think if only we just knew what to expect each day/night it would be do much easier to deal with.

Your meal sounds really tasty mrsn, hope your brother had a lovely day.

Welcome elvis, hope we can all help keep you sane through the nights, you're past the 6 week mark at least, that's definitely the very hardest part done.

Haven't heard from evil in a while, hope she's ok.

We had a lovely day today, took the girls to one of my favourite garden centres (we do go to other places too...honest!). It's a family run one about 40 minutes away from us but worth the journey, tonnes of Christmassy things and lots of events and activities for children. They have a big children's play barn too which is free so we spent ages in there. DD1 had a fab time running around like a loon and babylump was a little angel and slept in her sling the whole time.

I reckon I can risk going to bed now, I put her in her cocoon 20 minutes ago and all appears to be quiet...although we all know appearances can be deceiving so I hope I don't get this 45 minute intruder that seems to be doing the rounds!

Night all (hopefully!). Here's to lots of successful transfers [hsmile]
