LO has been restless all night, awake for about 6-7 hours and not letting me put her down for longer then 10 min each time if I'm lucky, she would feed fall asleep then kick off when I took her off the boob, not been and easy night but she's just gone 4 hours!!!!!!!!!!! The first time ever

mrsn I'm still demand feeding Smile you are not a failure and your doing a great job. I always feel the same way as you

goat I love the smile and wave boys

I think I'm quite lucky as alot I people around me don't have small babie and those that do haven't breastfeed so I've almost been left to my own devices with it but have had some strange crap advice or should I say been told how to do certain thins which I always struggle with explaining myself when they ask me how there way is going when I never said I'd do it that way in the first place

susie BabyN is quite good with loud noises she'll jump but then happily sit through the dog barking/Hoover ect

Jelous of the lazy days Envy now DP can't work he's at home but is one of them people who can't sit still so were out every day

heffa pregnant in heels? I couldn't wear heals from about 8 weeks pregnant

Hi running Smile hope your DD lets you get some sleep soon

Good luck with the jabs I supose it's today funch

I started this post on my last feed at half 2 Grin we went 2 1/2 hours between feeds this time praying for the same again

Susieloo · 30/11/2012 06:03

We are up again, just when I though things were getting better we have gone backwards, I might have to try babyloo in a gro bag soon, his legs are like little rings of tyres and I can't get a babygro on under his sleeper only a long sleeve vest and his legs feel chilly to me. Not sure if he will cope with having something round his legs and feet though.

The other thing I am randomly fed up with is being constantly thirsty-as soon as he latches on l have to drink and I sometimes feel like I can't get enough liquid.

Going to attempt another hour

Ameybee · 30/11/2012 06:50

marbles and small I know exactly how you feel - I've had several mini meltdowns this week about the nights and not coping Confused felt like I have been going slowly insane. I just keep desperatly trying to keep the faith that it will get better at some point.
I really wanted to enjoy this baby bit as much as possible and I am but I can't help thinking it must be a totally different experience for my friend who's baby has done at least 5 hours consistently from 5 wks and now does 8/9 at same age as my DS! She looks amazing - unsurprisingly.
Baby bee defo got bad cold, up every hour from 2 just coughing, sniffling Confused x

Smallgreenone · 30/11/2012 07:44

It wasn't every two hours in the end more like every hour. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I thought we'd have a good night as we'd done well napping in the day but it seemed to make things worse Confused. If things continue like this my Christmas present to myself will be a sleep consultant and or night nanny!!!

Susieloo · 30/11/2012 08:02

So tired I could cryHmm we were up pretty much every hour from 11, written of going to town to do Christmas shopping and will trawl the Internet instead.

funchum8am · 30/11/2012 08:42

susie let me know if the trawling throws up anything useful....all I find is conflicting advice so I am taking the "hope it improves with time" approach Sad

Loup23 · 30/11/2012 09:58

Urgh another one here just baffled as to why DD won't go longer at night Confused last night we ended up co sleeping from 1 with sleepy lying down feeds at 3ish, 5ish and 7ish.... Just don't understand why DD manages 4 hours in the day but not at night (despite the fact she used to....) hope everyone has quiet days with lots of napping.... X

Ameybee · 30/11/2012 10:08

Just been to sainsburys - 25% off all clothes till Monday if any of you are looking for stuff - I love their kids clothes! Got DS a gruffalo gro bag - super cute!
Anyway - want your opinions, DH being slightly whingy about being tired - which I cannot bear when I'm up half the night and he's getting 6-7 hours solid 95% of time!! I got up at 830 today (he took kids down at 7) and sent him back to bed because I was fed up of his forlorn face. Am I being unreasonable to expect him to do the early shift if I've done the night shift? I go to bed early whereas he tends to stay up later watching tv or revising for his exam in 3 weeks - I understand that his revision is important but he doesn't really need to do it till 1130 at night. X

MrsNPattz · 30/11/2012 13:05

Hi ladies! Sorry so many of you are fed up! I am too but for different reasons - we had another good night but my eyes are doing my head in! Pharmacy, opticians and NHS Direct were as much use as a chocolate teapot! But have managed to get an appointment at my dad's GP later on! Want it sorted before it gets worse as all I'm worried about is not being able to look after my baby boy and not being able to see him properly!

Will let you know!

Welcome runner! Our little man wears vest, baby grow and grobag!

heff i have heard of pregnant in heels but never watched it, is it unbelievable? lol

Hope you are all having good days xx

blonderthanred · 30/11/2012 14:37

Ooh Amey I like Sainsburys stuff, might have to take a look.

My DS wears a vest and sleepsuit with a thin blanket folded over twice. Sometimes I wrap him in a muslin swaddle if it's cold or he seems to need wrapping.

We had quite a good night (eventually) - 2am till 5am he slept soundly in bednest, 5-7am we had three or 4 short feeds but he dropped back off each time & transferred no prob. 7am he got a bit grizzly so DH took him downstairs till 9am so I could sleep on. So I had 7 hours sleep!

Today he won't nap at all so I think we are in for a bad night. We are at my Mum's so it's not his usual familiar surroundings. Or maybe he just misses having Escape to the Country on in the background.

Susieloo · 30/11/2012 15:24

amey I totally sympathise re dh, I just don't think they get the tiredness and how totally debilitating it is, my dp is quite obsessive about his own sleep and he couldn't cope with one night let alone the last 4 and a half months!! He never gets up in the morning on his days off with babyloo unless I ask him-just wouldn't occur to him!

Need to ask a daft question-babyloo slept for two hours in his cot at lunch time-I had to wake him up!!! I'm sure he slept so well because he was warm because I used blankets, his sleep suits have been great but I can't put him in a babygro underneath-so tonight I am going old school-vest, babygro, sheet and doubled over cellular blanket-so daft question is-when people say vest do they mean with short or long sleeves?

Twobuttonsaway · 30/11/2012 16:31

susie I've moved to long sleeved vests in this cold weather. Convinced baby buttons sleeps better when warm and cosy, I use cellular blankets for swaddling which are more difficult to overheat them in.

PoppyWearer · 30/11/2012 16:45

Hi Ladies, I was on the original thread and am back again to say goodbye!

My DC2 is now a whopping 15mo and we have recently gone cold turkey on both bf and night feeds (he has been mix-fed from the start) and he now only wakes briefly in the night and no longer feeds.

After all these months, an uninterrupted night is now very close!
So, for all of you in the thick of it at the moment, repeat after me: this too shall pass.

Good luck, and see you around!

Ameybee · 30/11/2012 17:03

susie I'd say vest means short sleeves! Glad your DH is also the same! X

Susieloo · 30/11/2012 18:13

Thank you poppy it gives me hope to hear from a graduate of this threadSmile

Smallgreenone · 30/11/2012 18:17

amey my DH is the same too and it really annoys me. He is however doing all the night feeds tonight with express milk because if he didnt I wouldn't let him go away tomorrow night- I figured it was fair Grin. However I predict he will bring baby small to me in the wee small hours with some ridiculous excuse as to why he can't settle him- I hope I'm wrong though.
susie we use shirtsleeve vest, sleepsuit, gro bag, thin blanket folded over. His gro egg never goes blue but sometimes his hands are freezing and I feel cold when I get up in the night.
Had an ok day today and just on last feed before bed hopefully. I'll probably be checking in later as I'll have to express at some point. Wishing everyone a good night.
Congratulations poppy on graduating! I think I will have gone insane if I am still here at 15 months, will it really be that long?!

MrsNPattz · 30/11/2012 19:57

Been to the drs and he gave me antibiotic eye drops! Fingers crossed!

Me and hubby have been to the local Chinese tonight, mum looked after little man. The Chinese is only across the road and I missed him!! Was nice having some time with hubby though Smile

susie yea vest to me is short sleeves! Might get some long sleeved ones though if it gets colder!

Ameybee · 30/11/2012 20:01

On ? Last feed of night but baby bee has been off today and slept basically all day. He's really snuffly and sounds like he's swallowing mucus Sad poor sausage. Not holding out hope for a good night but u never know. Decided to put pram in lounge incase he needs to be more upright. Got some baby nose clear vapour but can't think there's much else I can do. X

funchum8am · 30/11/2012 20:20

Hi all, we use long sleeved vest and 2.5 tog grobag and that is it. our room is quite warm according to the thermometer on the monitor ans she always feels toasty, except her hands which sometimes feel cold.

babyfunch had her jabs and health check which was all fab. she basically pulled the lovely medical student who joined us - he seemed totally besotted!Grin But after sleeping for a few hours she has just been screaming so I have given her calpol and sung to her, and she has finally dropped off to escape my sentimental caterwauling But she is sleeping in my arms so I can't sleep at the same time.

DH also helpfully asleep on the bed next to us, which is a bit Angry . However he has tried - I left her downstairs with hum and came to bed at his suggestion but just as I got into bed the screaming began. he is fully dressed so if she starts again he can take her out in the car. He says he will have her all day tomorrow so I can sleep but we mat get excuses if she cries a lot, like someone else said. I think he really wants to help but truly believes that sometimes only bf can settle her. Maybe he is right but I hope not! Good luck for tonight everyone!

funchum8am · 30/11/2012 20:22

congratulations poppy on graduating! there is a ceremony you have to do, you know...Grin

missingmymarbles · 30/11/2012 21:42

My DH is very good and very well-meaning in that he does really want too help, but he also believes that boob solves everything so far as our babies have ever been concerned.

Oooh, in other news, I'm going to be an auntie againGrin My brother rang me today to tell me that my sis-in-law is pregnant again - so excitingGrin They'll have their hands full as their first will only be 17 months and she's a (gorgeous) wee ripperSmile

MummyV18 · 30/11/2012 22:20

Hi guys, sorry been AWOL.

We've magically turned a corner and baby J has only been waking once a night this last week Grin

The week before that was awful and I had to cave and he spent the night at my parents so we could get some sleep.

Hope your all doing well Smile

blonderthanred · 30/11/2012 22:45

Oh I wish I had some spare boobs... these ones hurt. Give me a break DS!

funchum8am · 30/11/2012 23:56

Nice one mummyv, glad to hear It is going so well...that is really lovely of your parents who will now be held up as an example to mine Wink

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 00:51

First feed. Some improvement. Put her to bed a bit later as we'd been out so in bed by 8 (I think it was) and then had to resettle at half past so it's been 4 whole hours. Hopefully at least four hours til next one. We've put a little heater in Missmarbles room too as I think the cold has been adding to the crappiness of the nights. It may be the added warmth or the white noise it produces when it comes on but if it helps I don't care Grin
