Congratulations marbles and I was thinking about you earlier mummyv so glad things are going well for you.

We are on second feed already with full on screaming at half eight -2 hours after bed time- for no apparent reason, forgot the problem with blankets is they can kick them off, will be trying a gro bag tomorrow.

Hope everyone having good nightsSmile

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 01:20

Sad transfer failure x2.....

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 01:21

I have a headache and really need to be asleep

Goatbongosanonymous · 01/12/2012 01:26

Cover me, am going in for transfer...

Ameybee · 01/12/2012 01:35

Congrats auntie marbles! And brilliant news mummyv - Is your LO on formula now?
First feed here since 9pm but I'm so tired tonight! Hoping we don't have transfer faliure due to snuffles!
mrsn are your eyes any better? goat how is kids cold?
Xx

funchum8am · 01/12/2012 01:55

congratulations marbles on auntiedom! Hope you are getting some sleep at this moment.

DH has just been sick Sad Poor him...selfishly my main thought was how he wouldn't be able to have DD tomorrow if he is properly ill! And God forbid we should all get a D&V bug...

babyfunch is sleeping well and feeding normally so I hope the horrid screams earlier are gone for good.

goat I've got your back - has the mission been accomplished?

Susieloo · 01/12/2012 02:56

3rd feed of the night so it is one of those nights, he was lovely and warm so that isn't the problem and he has just had a good feed so maybe he is just hungry. Weaning starts on his 5 month birthday but now wondering if I'm going to wait that long if he's increasing wake ups because he's hungry.

Attempting transfer......

Goatbongosanonymous · 01/12/2012 02:59

Worked for about 40 mins...
His cold is on the mend, thanks amey although he still sounds like several Darth Vaders rolled into one!

Another niece or nephew marbles how exciting! When is baby due?

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 03:57

Another 3 hours. All this is an improvement in last night. Hope transfer smooth this time. Hope you errr successful Goat and Susie.

Also trying to hang on til 5th month birthday.

Hi everyone.

MrsNPattz · 01/12/2012 04:06

First feed here!

amey I don't want to tempt fate but my eyes seem a bit better!! Glad you got a bit more decent time between feeds - hope it continues!

marbles congratulations!! But are they mad - two under 2?? Hehe or is it just me that that petrifies lol

mummyv hi! So glad things have improved - we have missed you but glad it's for the right reasons Smile

Hope all transfers went well!

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 04:13

Again transfer failure x2. That's the bit that's so exhausting...

funchum8am · 01/12/2012 04:39

We are having the best night yet - just had a 2.5 hour stretch after a 2 hour stretch! fingers crossed it continues. DH seems better, happily.

Thinking of you if you are up...lots of sympathy coming your waySad

MrsNPattz · 01/12/2012 04:47

Transfer failure here too, so nappy changed and back on the boob.........

Susieloo · 01/12/2012 05:55

And up feeding again so just under three hours, every time I think we've cracked it he goes back to nights like this. The other problem with blankets that I didn't have before is that he wants to eat them!! Hoping for another hour but not hopeful, I'm so sick of feeling this tiredHmm

Agree marbles it's the transfer failures that always get me, it's soul destroying.

funchum8am · 01/12/2012 06:05

after my smug positive post earlier we had transfer failure, feed, sleeping on me, then transfer failure again Sad. I then figured maybe she could sleep on DH instead of me but that failed to so on the boob again and plotting to transfer to DH again...

Ameybee · 01/12/2012 07:01

First feed since 4 here but the poor little sausage is struggling so much with his snuffles that I've been awake most of time since 4 Confused! Sat up with him in bed for a bit so he could clear it. I hope it passes really quick because his feeding/waking at night seems to have improved! Sorry for all the transfer fails out there - it is soul destroying when they are fast asleep one minute then wide awake as soon as you put them down! Xx

Up here, we got another few hours once he finally went back to sleep. Hope you all got a bit more sleep.

We are off to my uncles today - it will be a full house! Have good Saturdays everyone xx

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 09:10

I think some of our transfer failures were snuffly nose as well. If its not one thing it's another. You just feel like you've got it cracked and summat else flies up.

I bought some weaning spoons and cup yesterday, Susie, but had really hoped not to use them for another couple of weeks. I do think she's virtually ready and with such frequent waking, I am thinking I will just get on with it. She definitely wasn't cold last night, and we were still up every three hours or so. She totally watches what we're doing and she seems to use her tongue and chew while she's watching. The thing is, it's not going to make an instantaneous difference anyway

Ameybee · 01/12/2012 09:56

Random question ladies - were you all given vitamin d supplements during pregnancy? I wasn't and at my 6 wk check my gp said I should have been & therefore me & babybee need supplements now! I picked his up from chemist the other day and they are abidec drops - they taste Foul Confused like oil and made him gag!! I never had them for DD and I'm reluctant to make him sick each day with them!! X

Susieloo · 01/12/2012 11:03

amey I haven't heard anything about vit d supplements and they weren't bought up when I was pregnant. I take the pregnacare bf vitamins everyday but that wasn't because I was advised to. Hv hasn't mentioned vit d either.

missingmymarbles · 01/12/2012 13:47

He'll be taking everything he needs from bm, Amey, and he will absorb 100% So far as I'm aware, unless you're deficient in vit D and need a supplement, he certainly won't. I don't think he will even if you are taking itHmm

TeaandHobnobs · 01/12/2012 14:02

Amey DS had vitamin drops, but that was because he was prem. I agree, they stink! Dalivit is slightly less revolting than Abidec (I think they prescribe Abidec because it is cheaper, but you can buy dalivit over the counter). Are you giving it neat, or mixing with milk?

I think the vitamin d thing is because there are more instances of rickets these days as everyone shelters their children from the sun, and obviously as it is winter now, there's not so much sunshine! But as marbles says, he will be getting all he needs from you Smile

Goatbongosanonymous · 01/12/2012 14:41

Ditto with the vitamin drops for prem Kid - although we have the Dalivit, so obviously our PCT is splashing out! Also they check all NNU babies here for deficiency and if they have one, they check the mums. We were fine.

Snuffleupagus back in fine form today... Sad getting a bit worried about the feeding, as every time we try, he coughs, chokes then vomits. Anyone else had this?

MrsNPattz · 01/12/2012 16:07

amey no one has mentioned vit D to me either, but I also take pregnacare bf vitamins!
