Welcome all to a shiny new thread for moral support during night feeds, general food envy and chit chat Grin

OP posts:
funchum8am · 25/10/2012 04:21

Jeez I am queen of posting too soon tonight!

Welcome all the new people and congratulations on your new babies!

Feeding again here. Babyfunch has just sneezed out huge amounts of snot so hopefully will breathe easier now. She still has her day and night the wrong way round, is that normal at 3 weeks?

vicky really pleased for you!!

Tallgiraffe · 25/10/2012 04:38

Funchum - you have my sympathy on the cold, babyG has his first one too. I caught it from him yesterday and when I went into boots to ask what cold remedies I could take while feeding him, I was told paracetamol and nothing else [hsad]

Tallgiraffe · 25/10/2012 04:45

Balls. MiniG has just vomited up his feed so is now hungry again. Start again...

Smicha · 25/10/2012 04:48

Up again. I time night sleeps on my phone to see how long we get each night and that was 2 hours 44, so better than it could have been!

Welcome all newbies, hope this thread helps with the sleeplessness...but be warned...before long you will have invested in a Ewan the dream sheep and you will hear more about yummy sweet snacks than you could ever imagine! This is not a thread for dieters [hgrin]

Sorry to hear lots of us are having rubbish nights. Sending some of my chocolate smiles to you all!

We've had two poonamis tonight! He always does them at night, which I suppose is a good thing as means he is less likely to explode when we're out and about during the day [hconfused]

MummyVicky18 · 25/10/2012 04:51

Well he didn't stay asleep but at least I had 4 hours. It's something isn't lol we now get excited by early nights & 4 hour sleeps lol

Just eaten my way through a packet of Jaffa cakes yum yum Smile

Anyone got nice plans for the day? X

Susieloo · 25/10/2012 04:56

Didn't even make it till five and all he wants is to fall asleep on me, could totally eat an entire pack of Jaffa cakes right now and v looking forward to my morning cappuccino (not a fancy machine one its out a packet) if we can get till six it will be a bonus but I can't see it, think will have to have toast with jam for my sugar fix this morning.

Goatbongosanonymous · 25/10/2012 05:16

There are choccy bics in the cupboard downstairs. [hsmile]
Kid is fast asleep on me. [hhmm]

Giraffe do you have a prem too?

Smicha · 25/10/2012 05:17

mummyV my plans for the day are to walk to the post office to post a present to someone! I sometimes wonder how I managed a full time job which required complex thought, when now the main task of my day is going to the post office!

Dsis and her boyf are calling to see us tonight to split their journey on the way to the airport for an early flight in the morning so that will be lovely as they live quite far away. They'll arrive in time for bath time so my sis will love that! I'm quite Envy of their carefree life that allows them to jet off on a holiday in the Caribbean for a week!! I reckon I'll be at least 60 before I get the chance to do anything like that again and will have spent all my money on kids so won't be able to afford it anyway!

MummyVicky18 · 25/10/2012 05:30

I know, I doubt we'll get abroad for years. Our last holiday was 2 years ago for our honeymoon.

I'm sat here unsure what to do.... I put baby J down a few mins ago asleep but he has woken up. He's not crying just laying awake. Now I'm sat on a chair at the foot of his cot & he can't see me so he won't know I'm here. If I move back to bed then that will disturb him & possibly set him off as I'll have to open his door ( which makes a sound on the carpet/ will let lots of light in) or do I just sit here?

Hyperballad · 25/10/2012 05:31

Hello lovely ladies! I always end up so hungry at this time if the morning and I find it hard to think of what to keep next to my bed to snack on that isn't:

Really loud to eat
Or
Really unhealthy
Or
Isn't a banana!

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

(just completed 3rd feed of night, baby fast asleep with a full tummy, I'm wide awake with an empty tummy!)

MummyVicky18 · 25/10/2012 05:35

Depends on how healthy you want to be???

Buffet food is quiet, mini sausage, quiche etc
Soft cereal bar - nutrigrain

applecrumple · 25/10/2012 05:41

Can I join? Been up for over an hour feeding my dd

Hyperballad · 25/10/2012 05:43

Well, I practically ate a whole packet of Nice biscuits last night, waking up DP in the process, so more healthy than that!

Oooooooo what I'd do for a mini sausage and a bit of quiche right now!!

applecrumple · 25/10/2012 05:45

Oh & hyper how about a yoghurt?

MiniPopsMum2012 · 25/10/2012 05:48

Oh wow busy thread again. All these babies are so naughty, maybe they're texting each other? :)

hey everyone new - welcome & congrats. I really want home made cookies now, bah! And I still haven't had a hot chocolate yet.

We had another good sleep - 11pm to 5am, but with a little resettle at 3am, so not too bad. Well done mummyv 4 hours makes such a difference doesn't it? Do you manage to sneak out there room?

hyper my snacks consist of chocolate digestives :) although I really want jaffa cakes now.

Right, 8 minutes left be for I can put Minipop's down post feed and get back into bed.

Hyperballad · 25/10/2012 05:56

Chocolate digestives are my favourite! But not healthy! At all!

Yogurt is good.....but I don't really like to eat stuff luke warm that's supposed to be cold! God I'm hard work arn't I?!

NervousAt20 · 25/10/2012 05:57

Third feed of the night, she managed 2 hours between this time [hgrin]

Woohoo vicky glad your having a better night tonight then you did last night. 4 hours is better then none [hgrin]

Hi rowing congratulations on your DD Smile I haven't checked in on the other thread in a few days so I haven't seem your news

Wean the dream sheep ? Haven't heard of it but sounds like something I could do with lol

Today I have a 3 if my aunties and mum coming to visit, it's going to be a mad house! I can't wait to see them but feel abit sorry for babyN who will be past from person to person all day then no doubt be a nightmare at bedtime for me

She's not had a great feed so really doubt ill get long before the next one now

Hyperballad · 25/10/2012 06:08

I'm giving in and off downstairs to get some tea and toast!

Drives me mad when the baby sleeps soundly between feeds and i'm wide awake between them!

Smallgreenone · 25/10/2012 06:15

Up again now. I gave up at 4 and took him into bed with me but didnt help much with sleep. I think it's his tummy that's bothering him with trapped wind. Going to try some massage and see if that helps him.
Know exactly what you mean about holding down a full time job smicha sometimes it's a struggle to even get dressed [hgrin]. My job for the day is meet one of my best friends for lunch, she has a little girl born in jan and this will be the first time she's met baby small- I'm secretly hoping that one day they'll get married!!!! [hsmile]!!!!
Speaking of holidays..........we've been invited to a wedding in Thailand when small will be 11 months- would you take yours? The nurse at the drs was a bit against it as he won't be fully vaccinated but there are plenty of babies in Thailand [hhmm].

MrsNPattz · 25/10/2012 06:20

Hi to all newbies, so much reading to catch up on at feeds tonight [hgrin]

This is second feed for us, he went down again at about 1:30, woke at 2:30 but managed to settle him with the help of Ewan, and now this feed so not too bad. Hoping for a bit more as he is asleep on me just now so am going to transfer him soon.

I am meeting a friend at Mothercare today (because that's how we roll lol) and then back to hers for a coffee. And probably something full of sugar!!

TurquoiseFrankenCat · 25/10/2012 06:31

Awake again. And this is the feed I dread, as BabyCat always decides that now is awake time. Think I'll have to start sending her to work with DH if she continues to think this!

Going to try to get a shower this morning - what an exciting life I lead! [hgrin]

TurquoiseFrankenCat · 25/10/2012 06:35

Ooh. Thailand - I would take the baby if you can handle the flight. Presumably you'd be staying in a posh hotel? [henvy]

Smallgreenone · 25/10/2012 07:03

Well yes turquoise I think we would stay somewhere quite nice!! DH said we can as we will have the small one with us and Thailand hotels are very good value for money. I think the flight may kill me, I normally take sleeping pills and gin to knock me out on longhaul but not sure you are allowed to give babies that combo!!!! All this is dependant on what sort of money situation we are in so might not be able to go at all but part of me really wants to and the other part is terrified that baby small will catch something horrid.

Susieloo · 25/10/2012 07:08

Morning all and welcome[hsmile]

hyper I think out babies are the same age ish, seem to remember a very hot night back in July or August when they were both cluster feeding all night.

My plans for the day include making a cottage pie, staying in my pjs all day or walking to the post office to pick up some breast milk storage bags-woop woop!!!! I should also Hoover and change the beds but I'm too shattered at the moment, I wish he would go longer than 50 mins after the 3 ish feed.

Hope everyone has a good day and sorry not to name check everyone new, will have a good read through all last nights posts later.

mummyv how are you getting on now baby j is not in your room? I'm starting to think I might need to move babyloo soon but I worry that I will keep getting out of bed to check on him!!

MrsNPattz · 25/10/2012 07:30

turquoise it's always fun trying to get a shower isn't it [hgrin] - my little fella likes to wait until mummy gets in and puts shampoo on before he screams the house down!! That's if I even get upstairs to the bathroom at all Confused

Well I got another half hour or so and we are again, and probably up for the day as have to leave in 2 hours to meet my friend.

susie I'm intrigued - breast milk storage bags from the post office?? Lol Hmm
