Hello!
Carrying on are good work from the first thread , how do we keep are selfs awake? By chatting to each other sleepy heads!

OP posts:
Velo · 08/10/2012 04:22

Time to throw my hat into the ring! I think that wee-velo objected to the lovely curry I had for dinner last night. Cue night of feeding, puking and generally being unsettled. Now he's lying in my arms wide-awake and not looking in the least bit sleepy. We are also in the camp of babies who only want to sleep on top of mummy/daddy. Sometime's I swear that he make a cry for the breast (2-sucks) just to get out of his moses basket. Hope everyone else is getting some sleep at last...

Tooodlepip · 08/10/2012 04:35

Haven't been to bed yet Sad

Ok partly cuz I'm writing my thesis (I used the word cuz Blush)

Pip upright now please wind just come up Smile

Tooodlepip · 08/10/2012 05:14

Still going Grin

Goatbongosanonynous · 08/10/2012 05:20

Feed number four. What's that all about?!

Smicha · 08/10/2012 05:42

Ooh Goat, number four, poor you. I'm on number two and he's just hanging there not sucking. I swear he forgets how to feed when he's tired!

BabylonPI · 08/10/2012 06:12

Well we seem to be back to 4 hourly night feeds - which is a hell of a lot better than 2 hourly Grin

Hope everyone is getting enough sleep and hello to all the newbies, congratulations on your babies GrinGrin

EnvyEnvy of all the newborn snuggles!!

BabylonPI · 08/10/2012 06:14

Ewan the dream sheep is suitable from birth - 4 different sound settings including two of heartbeats heard inside the womb - so very settling for a newborn IYSWIM Smile

I was very Hmm when my mum got it, but less than a week and I wouldn't be without it Grin

Smallgreenone · 08/10/2012 06:35

Right then I am getting a Ewan sheep today. He sounds like a superstar and I've looked him up online and he is rather cute too. Lets hope DS thinks the same!

Smallgreenone · 08/10/2012 06:40

Ewan is ordered- hooray for iPads and amazon!

funchum8am · 08/10/2012 06:43

Babyfunch slept in her basket! 3-6.50am wahey! And that was me getting her up to change her, she would have gone a bit longer on her own. I won't get hopeful that this is going to last but at least dh and I got to snuggle in bed together for a bit, and some half decent sleep.

Heffalumps I am seriously considering a Troll cot, funny you should mention it. That might well be the way forward and there is a local stockist. Was it easy to assemble?

DoingTheSwanThing · 08/10/2012 07:19

6 feeds tonight... Not half bad! And back up to two usable boobs, theyve been warned that any misdemeanours will result in a further loss of boob privileges. Babies slept 12-3.30, woohoo! Unfortunately we've been locked in a feed-vomit cycle since. This mornings speciality is the Nose Vom, generally followed by the altogether more spectacular Sneeze Vom.

MrsNPattz · 08/10/2012 07:57

I could kiss babylon and Ewan!! Lol I had 2 stretches of 3 hour sleeps with one feed in the middle - little one woke when I put him in Basket, but was sent straight to sleep by Ewan Grin I don't know if its just fluke but from what babylon has been saying hopefully not!! Smile

missingmymarbles · 08/10/2012 07:59

Ok. Second feed was small at 4ish, settled around 4.30 and awake again at 5 Hmm However big feed taken and a bit of a fight with sleep. I out a white noise app on my phone and the fight just went out of her! It was funny to watch; she tried but just could keep her eyes open! She tried to squirm but it got really half-hearted. She was soundly asleep in less than 1 minutes, and still is. I wonder if the 4 o'clock feed was just a blip and if I hadn't lifted her shed have gone back over? Anyway, not too bad a night but I think a dream sheep may be the way forward Wink
Hope everyone else managed some decent kipSmile
Happy Monday!

Susieloo · 08/10/2012 08:56

Morning allSmile really feeling the lack of sleep today, it's dp's day off so I'm hoping he will take over for a bit and I might get a nap, we had a fairly usual night 8.20-12.40 then 4 ish then 6.45. Poor babyloo had managed to wee outside his nappy all over his bedding so I was scrabbling around trying to find new clothes and sheets, most of which seemed to be in the wash!!! I'm having a nightmare with his bedding, bought a grobag according to his weight but the arm and neck holes are too big so don't feel comfortable leaving him in it so I've just bought a purflo sleep sac because they do a 3-9 month size which I'm hoping will fit him better than the grobags do, I'm sure he is waking because he is cold, his blankets aren't staying on him as soon as he moves around.

How is your tummy marbles?

Hope everyone has a good day and naps are taken where needed, I optimistically bought some new running headphones for my iPhone thinking I might start again and try to go out a couple of times a week, this feels hilarious today because I can barely summon the energy to walk up the stairs!!

MrsNPattz · 08/10/2012 11:24

I think I was too happy about my night because little fella is not settling today Hmm

milkymocha · 08/10/2012 11:31

Iam new to this thread !
I have a 2.5yo (whos first full night sleep was when i was in labour with DS2!) and a 7 month old. So iam pretty much a veteran at this not sleeping malarky!

I have sympathy for you (along with a reassuring, knowing nod !)

Tooodlepip · 08/10/2012 12:17

Susie loo I feel the 3-6:45 stretch as well Sad

Goatbongosanonynous · 08/10/2012 13:32

I have just woken up from a lovely lovely 2-hour nap. Is that cheating? Grin

Why oh why can't Kid sleep like that at night?!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 08/10/2012 15:43

Arrrgggh, we had a rubbish night. Minipop was so unsettled, his snotty nose kept waking him up, and he seems to like sleeping on me from 4am Confused

I am also coming down with his cold so really felt rough all through the night feeds.

goat totally not cheating :)

susie I really want to get back out running, was meant yo go yesterday but DP was late back from his outing so I couldn't go.

Hey milky :) welcome

hope everyone's doing ok today. What's do you all do with your little ones during the day?

Minipop is 9 weeks corrected & I need some inspiration about what else to do with him for activities.

Goatbongosanonynous · 08/10/2012 16:33

Minipop Sad about the cold - I really hope you recover very soon and it's not too bad.
You have asked the question I was wanting to ask, about what everyone does during the day (other than catch up on sleep!)
We do lots of music stuff, as Kid seems to enjoy this more than anything. Maybe as he has no hand coordination yet. If anyone on this thread wants some nice stuff that seems to work, pm me and I am happy to send you some copies. CDs and music activities...

missingmymarbles · 08/10/2012 20:23

Missmarbles went down at 7.40ish. She coulds barely keep her eyes open at 6, which is far too early, so she was stripped and washed and pyjamaed, so that at least she would not be disturbed if she did fall asleep, but she woke up all sparky and then fell asleep proper after a feed. I won't be long behind her.

My tummy isn't too bad, thanks, Susie.

Hope everyone gets decent sleep tonight.

missingmymarbles · 08/10/2012 20:29

Oops posted too soon!

Poor Minipop, on the cold front Sad Missmarbles also prefers to sleep on me from about 4, knackering isn't it? I hope his cold goes soon, and he doesn't have residual snuffly snot for ages after.

Hi Milky.

Jealous of your nap Goat Grin I tried but managed 20 minutes before Missmarbles woke up. She had been asleep for an hour by the time I thought it might be worth it thoughHmm

BabylonPI · 08/10/2012 21:02

Well baby B has just gone down so I'm watching some quality marine biology documentary baywatch with DH Grin

Trying to make an effort to stay up a bit with DH, so I'll feed baby B again about 11ish then hope that will be it until 4 ish??!

Would be lovely!!

Scattering sleep dust and decongestant to everyone else Grin xx

Tooodlepip · 08/10/2012 21:15

Loislane78 · 08/10/2012 21:26

Acquired a Ewan Sheep here also :) Got some vouchers from work so thought I'd treat myself LO :). Whoever suggested that should be on commission!

Not sure what night I'm in for as some strange nap/over tired behaviour the last couple of days so feed and sleep times more random than usual. We'll see....

Happy Zzzzzz's
