Hello!
Carrying on are good work from the first thread , how do we keep are selfs awake? By chatting to each other sleepy heads!

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 23/10/2012 04:09

Glad it's going well vicky, it's quite sad how quick they grow up isn't it Sad

Smallgreenone · 23/10/2012 04:59

2 and a half hours again Sad he's not normally like this, must be the jabs he's had.
Sorry to hear there are more colds about. Mine is still lingering and has moved onto my chest now too, baby small seems to have escaped so far at least. I bought some incredibly overpriced Manuka honey today, it's supposed to be healing so we'll see...........
Welcome [nervous] at 3 days baby small was so sleepy I used to have to wake him to get him to feed, now I long for those sleepy days Smile!
Has your milk come in yet? I found the breast feeding got a lot less painful when my milk came in, took 6 days for mine but think that was abnormally long.

MummyVicky18 · 23/10/2012 05:07

Baby J finally off to sleep. It took a while but not stressful as there were no tears, he just wanted to be awake and play.

My milk took forever to come in too about a week I think

MummyVicky18 · 23/10/2012 05:09

Baby J finally asleep. Took a long time but not stressful as there were no years he just wanted to be awake & play.

My milk took ages to come in about a week I think then after about 2 weeks I felt much better

MummyVicky18 · 23/10/2012 05:10

Ha ha no years!!!! I meant no tears silly auto text

funchum8am · 23/10/2012 05:41

Glad the change to his own room went well vicky. Feeding again here. One day she will go to 2 feeds a night....sounds like a dream come true at the moment, never mind actually sleeping through!

MummyVicky18 · 23/10/2012 05:47

Spoke too soon Sad I got back in bed for ten mins then I hear him. Massive poonami!!!!

So I have now been up since 2.45 and I surprisingly feel ok. Yeah I'm tired but I'm finding it easier going that he isn't screaming the house down.

Clumsasaurus · 23/10/2012 05:57

After a dodgy start... First feed of the night here! Which means I had 6 hrs straight and I threatened dancing in the street if I got that, not sure the neighbours will approve!

Welcome nervous the pain will pass soon as the others said. Congratulations Smile You are probably inundated with crap advice but one thing I found realy helpful is at 6 days we made sure babysaurus knew night from day. 8am, lights on and noise (there is a tv or radio on all day) 8pm lights down, noise off. Not sure if it worked because of that bit he has always done his longer sleeps at night.

Don't get me started on HV's! I swear they do not listen... Ever! I just go when I have to or are curious to know his weight. Fortunately he is tracking between 50-75th percentile so they tend to leave me alone!

NervousAt20 · 23/10/2012 06:18

Thanks small my milk has came in today and baby is small she was just over 2 weeks early aswell

Thanks clum well try with radio and lights on ec

This is feed 3. I'm abit worried at how little she's had tonight. 3 feeds but only at around 10min ducking then she's just lost interested it falls asleep until I move away

MrsNPattz · 23/10/2012 07:17

Another feed here, I'm surprised he went this long because he didn't feed for long at 4 and was sick.

My hv has been amazing!! I am on medication for anxiety and depression, and the first time I went to the clinic to get him weighed I burst into tears! So she has been coming to the house every week which is not the norm but it has really helped to have her to talk to and to know that she is coming. Sorry you haven't all had good experiences, I think they maybe need to overhaul how they do things!

He has fallen asleep so maybe I could squeeze another little one in Smile

Smallgreenone · 23/10/2012 08:09

Jealous of your six hours [clums], well done!
I just have to say Ewan did wonders last night. Everytime I put baby small back in his basket he settled a treat with Ewan on, he doesn't normally but last night he worked magic!

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 23/10/2012 08:33

Good to hear there are some good HVs, and that you were able to get help & support from yours mrsn, sometimes a bit of understanding and someone to talk to makes a huge difference doesn't it. I had borderline pnd with DD1 & I have to give my HV her due, although technical knowledge-wise she was about as useful as a chocolate teapot she offered to come round almost every day for company & support until I felt more like I was coping & it really helped.

Sorry there are so many colds around, I expect I'll be next to catch one but so far so good.

Congratulations on your little one nervous, I was the same as funch no sleep at all for 3 days then once my milk was in things improved.

Talking of improvement, last night was amazing! The transfer took place at 2am, upstairs to bed we went & first waking was...8am! Hurrah! Grin woke up with boobs like cannon balls but she's had a good long feed now and it was worth a bit of discomfort in order to get that lovely 6 hour stretch.

Have good days everyone, hope there's lots of resting going on :)

Clumsasaurus · 23/10/2012 09:31

I hear you horridhef re cannonball boobs, you get great sleep and wake up like Dolly Parton!

I'm not sure what Babysaurus is up to... He slept from 1130 to 530 had a 15 min feed, went back to sleep and slept until 9 Hmm Thank God for Pampers - I stoopidly forgot to change him at 5:30 but it held phew!

How was your night mummyV?

MummyVicky18 · 23/10/2012 09:48

A bit rubbish really. Really thought it was going well as he was good until 3.30 then I could not get him to go back to sleep so I've been up ever since Sad

I definitely think he's teething though now as last night there were 2 big poonamis and he was pressing his finger on his gums so we'll just have to see what tonight brings if I make it that far Confused

Clumsasaurus · 23/10/2012 10:27

Poor you mummyV it sounded like you were off to a great start... xx

Tallgiraffe · 23/10/2012 10:35

Hope you all got some sleep eventually. Hello nervous and congratulations!

Baby G has caught a cold so things are pretty grotty here. He did however take a bottle of expressed milk last night for the first time from DH, which was great as it meant I slept from 8.30 - 12.30 Grin

MrsNPattz · 23/10/2012 13:56

Thanks heff, yea just a bit of understanding helps.

Hope you manage to have a sleep today vicky and that you have a better night tonight!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 23/10/2012 19:10

MiniPopsMum2012 · 23/10/2012 19:14

hope you're all well xx

Clumsasaurus · 23/10/2012 19:46

Dreading tonight.... Babysaurus has dozed a lot all day - WAY more than normal and conked out 45 mins ago on my shoulder and is properly asleep... I fear I'll be up all night Sad

MummyVicky18 · 23/10/2012 19:53

I'm dreading tonight too I'm so tired. Baby j had a nice long nap around dinner but I got a visitor so no nap for me.

I think baby J needs to take tips from your LO minipop

Susieloo · 23/10/2012 20:06

Woop woop minipop! Some amazing sleeps.

clum babyloo used to have days when he was little when he would sleep all day and still sleep at night and I mentioned it to the midwife once when she was here and he had been asleep all day and how worried I was that he wouldn't sleep at night and she said some days they just really need there sleep and will sleep both so really hoping that's what's going to happen with you.

I am feeding again after babyloo went to sleep at seven ish and I'm convinced he's unsettled because dss and dp are watching a film downstairs and its so freakin loud we may as well be in the same roomAngry

Clumsasaurus · 23/10/2012 20:43

Ooo I hope you're right susieloo he seems on track for a normal ish night ie feed feed feed feed! How old is your LO?

Susieloo · 23/10/2012 20:50

Babyloo is 15 weeks today, I took him to be weighed today and he is 19lb 6 so still 99th centile but his weight gain has slowed down considerably in the last month-this is a very good thing on days when he wants to be carried around all dayGrin
