Hello!
Carrying on are good work from the first thread , how do we keep are selfs awake? By chatting to each other sleepy heads!

OP posts:
MummyVicky18 · 21/10/2012 07:19

I think I'm paying for my pints I've been awake since 4am Sad baby J has been so good too he hasn't had a feed since 4 and is now quite happy watching Ewan.

I've downloaded the food app Smile will have a search through later Smile

Goatbongosanonymous · 21/10/2012 07:24

Oh no! No, no, no no! You are all bad people! Put down the food app and back away slowly!

Too late! That app is seductive. Not only will there be a world shortage of Ewans thanks to this thread, but also of pop tarts.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, and that the early risers get a nap. I am hoping to unpack some boxes finally after our move to the new house on 24 July. I was still in hospital at the time so my heroic DH had to do it all. And I haven't caught up yet! Need my winter shoes...

Smicha · 21/10/2012 07:38

Dh has suggested we spend Sunday decluttering the kitchen as he's alarmed at all the clutter that comes with expressing/sterilising and thinks it all needs a home, which means clearing out cupboards. What fun! Hmm I also hate to tell him that this stuff is just the beginning of a lifetime of kitchen clutter for the LO!

My mum bought Ewan as a present for my cousin and it turns out they already had one...he's so popular I'm now starting to imagine some sort of Doctor Who storyline where the Ewans have been sent to take over and they manage to infiltrate every house in the country...maybe I need to get more sleep...

Clumsasaurus · 21/10/2012 08:41

Morning. What a night, I gave up posting as I needed 2 hands! Babysaurus spectacularly vomited everywhere covering himself, crib, sheets, grobag, our bed, floor, iPhone cable... The list goes on!

Pop, glad you have a firm diagnosis, hopefully the docs can help out and give you and minipop some relief

If you can't find the colic massage link just yell and I'll jump on the laptop and link it.

I'm deliberately not looking st the American food app or they'll be pop tarts here too! We have a cyber candy shop near by and bit takes all my strength to walk past!

Hope everyone gets naps today! We'll sure as hell need done here!

Clumsasaurus · 21/10/2012 08:42

Smicha - killing myself laughing re Dr Who style Ewan invasion!!!

Smallgreenone · 21/10/2012 08:57

Me too chuckling at the dr who invasion of Ewan's!

missingmymarbles · 21/10/2012 09:29

I have my phone balanced on top of the fridge in the cabin to get reception BlushGrin

Susie, she naps about 30-40mins in the morning about 2 hours after she's up (she's done that already this morning, since we were up at 6.45 this am, courtesy of poonami and DD1 stage whispering that she couldn't flash the looHmm), usually from 9ish. Then if I'm lucky 1-2 hours around lunch time then another half hour to an hour later. She generally does 12 hours at night albeit significantly broken by feeds. I haven't pushed the cot during the day too much yet, so she either naps on us or if we're out, the pram or car. The only nap during the day in cot is first one; if I try cot for others she doesn't settle for long enough, whereas the first one is forty max irrespective of where she is.

The poonami thing is really annoying because she has only just started pooing (nearly) every feed, meaning a change and therefore fully awake in the middle of the nightHmm

MrsNPattz · 21/10/2012 12:27

I got another sleep here while mum watched him - dreading her going on Wednesday already Sad I will need lots of cyber hugs and lots of real ones from hubby.

clums oh no poor thing - and I hope your iPhone cable survived! Probably wise not to download the app Grin

Susieloo · 21/10/2012 17:56

Thank you marbles it's pretty similar to us, I'm starting to think about arranging our day around his naps now, we took him for a lovely walk today but it was between 12-2 and he stayed awake in his pram, this is the best nap time for him I've found. I can't get him to sleep in his cot at all in the day he either gets hysterical or wakes up after ten minutes. The problem is if he doesn't get decent sleep in the day the last two hours before I take him up to bed at 7 are a nightmare because he's so overtired and weirdly he seems to wake up more often during the night.

Susieloo · 21/10/2012 17:57

I know how you feel about your mum going mrs, I grab every opportunity to go and stay at my mum and dadsSmile

MummyVicky18 · 21/10/2012 22:19

Evening all Smile

Just off to bed baby J not been too bad managed to get him into Moses basket for 9pm. Should have gone to bed myself at 9 seeing as I only got 4hrs last night but wanted a bit of time with DH for a change.

So off to sleep now & I hope it's at least 2am before he wakes Smile fingers crossed

twizzlestix · 21/10/2012 23:51

Feeding baby Twizzle following a 3hr sleep, here's hoping for another 3 hrs to follow because stupidly I haven't slept yet! Our Ewan arrived but it doesn't seem to work on baby. How do you guys use yours?

Smallgreenone · 22/10/2012 00:01

Hello all baby small has just woken up after being out to bed at 7. I went to bed at 8 so feel quite rested Smile. Did everyone have a nice Sunday? It was so beautiful here, not a cloud in the sky. We has the in laws for lunch and mil took baby small out in his pram for an hour so I could have a nice hot bath, not sure if its helped my cold at all but it was a treat. Baby small has been a lite treasure today too, never seen him so smiley Smile. He has his injections tomorrow, am dreading them. Those who have had them already how did your little ones do afterwards? I have calpol at the ready!

MummyVicky18 · 22/10/2012 00:22

Baby J has got the last of his injections Wednesday Sad he screams his little heart out when it happens but about 10 mins later he is fine. We have cal pol at the ready but not needed it yet luckily. Hope all goes well for you they are not nice things Sad

Ewan hasn't worked his magic on baby J to go to sleep yet ( had ewan only a few days) but it does keep him calm & quiet so I can keep my eyes closed for a while longer. I Velcro Ewan's tail to the Moses basket handle & let baby j hold him. He loves to play with him although I'm not sure about this with all the hard buttons inside Ewan's legs so i try to have it so he can't get it to his mouth. Hopefully it will help him sleep eventually

Smicha · 22/10/2012 00:44

We had our first go at establishing a bedtime routine last night so bathed, fed and then put him into his cot at around 8.30 and he slept through til midnight, which is reasonable! Wish I had gone to bed with him but was quite enjoying spending the evening watching a film all the way through without interruption and stayed up much later than I should have!

Hope I van

Smicha · 22/10/2012 00:45

Whoops, posted too soon! Hope I can get him back down as easily after this feed.

Sending sleepy thoughts to all babies!

twizzlestix · 22/10/2012 01:45

Only went 1hr and a half ish since last feed! Aaagh, shes 6 weeks surely should be able to go 2-3hrs sleeping by now?!?
I'm glad your bedtime routine started well smicha and well done baby small

Clumsasaurus · 22/10/2012 02:14

small we had vacs last Tuesday and babysaurus was pretty gotten afterwards. V clingy and obviously uncomfortable/in pain :-( he had them at 4 and was demanding until he conked out at 10, it did seem to make him tired though and he slept ages that night! The next day was a bit rough too but he bounced back. Thinking of you Thanks

funchum8am · 22/10/2012 02:25

Hi everyone, was AWOL last night as we stayed with friends and my phone ran out of charge. I was nervous that babyfunch would wake everyone in the night but they didn't hear her (they were amazed as their two were noisy when this age). So that all went well and she has met more of our close friends which is nice. Everyone's kids have been soooo cute with her!

She fed ALL day yesterday with far less time asleep than usual, which was a but wearing, but then slept from 7-2!! So I have had a decent sleep having gone to bed at 8:30. That feels a bit too long for her to sleep at 2.5 weeks but she seems fine now - still sleepy during the feed though so am having to tickle her!

Off to look at this here American Soda app. Giggling about Ewan invasion too. Oh ans I put Ewan on in her Moses basket behind her head on the rainy noise setting after a feed - she stops fidgeting and settles much quicker with himon than otherwise.

Susieloo · 22/10/2012 02:29

We are on second feed of the night after babyloo went to bed at 7 he was so tired because he didn't nap properly. I also should have gone to bed when he did but there is something so nice about having a little bit of time together at the end of the day that's its hard, will need my nap today.

Dp's knee is well on the mend now, at the fracture clinic at the hospital the dr looked at the x ray and decided its not broken just very badly bruised. We have a beautiful wood by us with an autumn garden that was stunning so we took dss and babyloo and dp managed to hobble round, got some fantastic photos the trees were amazing.

Going to attempt transfer in 4 mins and I really hope he can sleep past the dreaded 3.30-5 window which seems to cause all the problems!!!

I'm watching all the Harry potter films from the beginning, need something comforting to put on at 5.45am, half way through order of the Phoenix so will finish that later.

Hope you are all fast asleepSmile

funchum8am · 22/10/2012 03:02

Glad to hear DP is on the mend susie - if it's not broken hopefully he will be better more quickly and can help you out again.

Smallgreenone · 22/10/2012 03:15

susieloo your wood sounds lovely.
Thanks for sharing your injection stories I hope he's not too bad. It's such a shame for them but obviously much better than getting the diseases themselves.

MrsNPattz · 22/10/2012 03:19

Morning, we just got from 10:15-3! Unbelievable. And it was Ewan that got little fella to sleep Smile we put him at the top of his Moses basket although we are quickly running out of room to do this. I think the setting with the slow heartbeat works best for us.

I hope all the injections go well this week - dreading his especially after the hand print fiasco Sad when is it they have their first lot again?

Munching on some chocolate raisins tonight - semi healthy right? Wink

Smallgreenone · 22/10/2012 03:32

He's 8 weeks mrsn and then I think after this lot they're every 4 weeks but not entirely sure will have to check with nurse tomorrow.
Chocolate raisins are semi- healthy good compromise! I have ginger biscuits tonight I thought the ginger might help my cold Grin

BabylonPI · 22/10/2012 04:03

Aaaargh!!! Yawn!!

I think baby B just dislikes Sunday nights Hmm Not quite as bad as last week but still, just done feed no 4 tonight Sad

He went to bed with DH at 8pm then woke at 10.30, 12, 1.10 and 2.15 - the 2.15 feed was huuuuuuge, he's been back in crib for about 10 minutes now - and I've got two hours max of sleep left now til I have to get up Sad

Night all, I'm snaffling the sleepy dust Grin
