Hello!
Carrying on are good work from the first thread , how do we keep are selfs awake? By chatting to each other sleepy heads!

Baby weight is like pg bumps - everyone seems to have a comment, big or small. My LO was 7lb (so hardly a miniature!) and cos she's long looks a bit scrawny. The amount of comments I've had as well... that's just how we cooked 'em and they've grown, get over it! People are v insensitive sometimes.

mummy think I might start getting DP to do bath-time. He had nearly 7 wks off but now he's back as work, barely sees her during the week and I think the crying upsets him as he wants to be involved and be able to settle her again too (and so do I!)

No afternoon nap today, v upset and over tired poor thing so had to put to bed at 6.30 both for her sanity and mine - hoping that's not to early... Confused

Was in John Lewis today as got vouchers from work - noticed they've sold out of Ewan's which made me chuckle Grin

Hope everyone had a good day and LOs feeling sleeeeepy!

Loislane78 · 20/10/2012 19:01

twizzle 6-8 wks are major growth and developmental wks and I noticed a big difference with my LO. (Good news is she developed her own routine v soon after so stay hopeful!).

I wouldn't worry too much about the 'fat' milk thing. Is she falling asleep at the end of the feed? Have you tried all the usual i.e. cheek stroking, gentle back rubbing etc. to get her to take that little bit more at the feed? They do get more efficient at feeding as well so could literally be a growth spurt to feed through for a few days.

GL :)

twizzlestix · 20/10/2012 19:38

Thanks louis she nearly always feeds to sleep. I then wait a while and transfer her to basket (mistime transfer=screamy baby!) TBH if she's fallen asleep feeding in early hours of the morning Ive let her as I'm so desperate for sleep myself! Will try to wake her a little maybe change nappy to see if she'll take more at the 3ish feed.

Upon reading, it looks like many of us have had tricky nights recently! Fingers crosses Ewan does his job!

MrsNPattz · 20/10/2012 19:40

Oh no my little one is 5 weeks tomorrow so not long til the 6-8 week growth spurt Confused

heff I have downloaded the American soda app which is American food so think I am going to have to order some of these delights you speak of Grin

Well infacol really works - little one had 2 poops yesterday and 3 today! Usually a struggle to get one every 2 days. Do you think I should keep giving him it before every feed (as hv advised) or cut down?

Loislane78 · 20/10/2012 19:51

mrs I think it's advised to give infacol before every feed when its used for wind/gripes pains as it takes a whole to kick in. Is this what you're using it for or more to get things moving downstairs? If not for wind, I would personally cut down just because might not be necessary and to see if it really is causing 'movement'. Sure it won't do any harm though if you carry on :)

Sorry for thread hogging; I'm waiting for X Favtor whilst DP watches cricket Grin

MrsNPattz · 20/10/2012 20:12

lois he was having trouble with wind and not pooping, so not sure what to do really Confused

I put my order in but they were sold out of Oreo pop tarts so it means I will have to place another order when they have them in Sad hehe

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 20/10/2012 20:13

Checking in for the start of the night, still haven't caught up on all the posts I missed the last two nights so sorry if I've not responded to anyone.

Babylump has been asleep for about an hour or so, DH fallen asleep on sofa so I've taken her upstairs and I've got strictly on and probably will try a nap until she wakes up and spends the rest of the night yelling at me . Really hope everyone gets a good night tonight, spreading sleepy dust to you all.

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 20/10/2012 20:15

mrsn did you get pretzel Flipz? They are the best invention ever Grin

Susieloo · 20/10/2012 20:35

American food app???!!!!!!!! That sounds amazingGrin will be looking for it during first feed of the nightSmile

MrsNPattz · 20/10/2012 20:40

susie it's amazing but lethal - I ended up spending 20 quid!!

heff yep I got dark choc ones, peanut butter ones and white fudge ones. And also cookie dough pop tarts! Defo not dieting just yet Grin

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 20/10/2012 20:53

Oh my gosh, the peanut butter ones are the food of heaven I'm going to have to go into town tomorrow now, bang goes the healthy eating plans!

You were right about this thread turning into food porn! Grin

MrsNPattz · 20/10/2012 21:19

Haha I know and I just bought healthy snacks when we did the shop today Hmm

I think America in general is food porn lol

SarryB · 20/10/2012 21:26

I get a feeling I may be joining this thread at about 4am tomorrow...

Tallgiraffe · 20/10/2012 21:31

Just checking in to wish everyone a good night!

And to say I survived a whole day of MIL's wierd comments! Today's best one was in the middle of a conversation with 2 friends about their holiday, she pipes up with "does he have a favourite breast?". Ahem, excuse me while I choke on my tea. Stop asking questions about my boobs, it's odd! Does anyone else have this? Please tell me the fascination goes away at some point...

BabylonPI · 20/10/2012 21:52

SusieLoo baby B is a big lad too!! He's 25 weeks and 1 day and weighs the same as my best friends baby girl who is 10 months Shock he's over 22lb now!!

Ignore them all - you're obviously doing a marvellous job of feeding him Wink

BabylonPI · 20/10/2012 21:55

Giraffe did everyone forget to mention that your boobs are now public property and up for discussion whenever anyone fancies???

It's very annoying isn't it!! DM particularly enjoys pointing out which side I need to feed him next with a knowing wink Hmm

just because I go lopsided in between feeds BlushBlush

Clumsasaurus · 20/10/2012 22:00

mrsNPatz re wind prob google colic massage, it's the first YouTube hit (can't link as I'm on my iPhone and tech challenged!) but it's awesome!! We do it 3 times a day, it only takes a few mins and DS let's out some spectacular farts! It's really helped him! I've given up the infacol, crappy colief and gripe water and have a much happier boy Smile

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 20/10/2012 22:21

Lol giraffe boobs definitely public property now, its bump during pg and boobs once baby is born! Well done on surviving the day though :)

clums that link looks useful, babylump has just started to be unsettled in the evenings and seems very gassy so I'll look it up and give it a go.

How is everyone's evening going? My nap didn't happen earlier but have sent DH to bed in the hope that if she does give us a bad night I can at least wake him up later for moral support. She's currently snoozing on my DF, who is also snoozing, so I daren't sleep myself yet as they are on the sofa & I don't want to leave them 'unsupervised'. Thinking I'll wait 20 mins & chance lifting her off and putting her in her carry cot. DF on the other hand can snooze on the sofa all night as I don't think the guidelines worry about sofa sleeping once baby is safely removed!

Tallgiraffe · 20/10/2012 22:37

babylon I must have missed that memo. Was it the same one that says it's ok for people to say "isn't your bump small, is the baby ok" throughout pregnancy? Although I got the last laugh there, he was 8lb 6 at 10 days early Grin

Just need to work on a comeback to the boob comments now...

Tallgiraffe · 20/10/2012 22:42

X posts heff! Good luck with the transfer, hope it's a wake free one. DH has just given up on us and headed for the spare room. Baby G is in full squeak and snuffle mode so he didn't rate his chances of any sleep. See you all later...

MummyVicky18 · 20/10/2012 23:21

Hi guys
I'm a bit squiffy eyed from tonight had 3 pints in honour of fallen friend. ( his usual) having not drank in a while its gone to my head a bit so god knows how tonight's going to go.

Hope tonight's going well for you all xx

Goatbongosanonymous · 21/10/2012 00:16

Giraffe Shockat MIL comment. Did it make you want to say cheerfully, 'yes, shame it's not one of mine...' -that would be really shock value!!

Isn't it amazing how mothers are public property from the minute we announce the pregnancy? Yes to lots of comments on baby size ( mine is still tiny - I have had the flat comment 'no he's not three months old') and of course the ubiquitous 'so are you breastfeeding?' and I had some doozies in pregnancy!

And more food ideas! Mrsn definitely food porn! If you see someone waddling around Uxbridge, pop tarts in hand, that'll be me... So much for losing preg weight!

Thanks for the tip on massage, clums I will have a look. Kid is such a windy baby it's amazing he doesn't set sail.

Heff Grin to removing your DF from the sofa!

Hope everyone has a great night.

Tallgiraffe · 21/10/2012 01:03

goat oh I wish I could have come up with that comeback! I wonder whose boobs he'd like Grin Can't believe someone would think you were making the kid's age up Confused

vicky sorry about your friend, hope you were able to remember happy times.

Susieloo · 21/10/2012 02:25

Hello sarrySmile

Babyloo went to bed at 7.20 because he was knackered and we are on first feed of the night!!!!! That's 7 hours and I came to bed at half nine so I've had four!! I'm going to do everything that I did yesterday exactly the same way today in case it is a magic formulaSmile

We will probably be getting up now or if he does go back to sleep I have no idea what time we will be up again, the dreaded 4am feed probably but 7 hours is aceSmile

Hope everyone having good nightsSmile

Clumsasaurus · 21/10/2012 02:27

Eugh saurus is snuffling and sneezing and woke himself up. It's been weeks since we did a 2am feed, he usually goes from 1030 until st least 3, I'm just hoping he doesn't have a cold :-( I've got a bit of one and was hoping to spare him
