MiniPopsMum2012 · 16/10/2012 08:09

(just catching up on posts -again! I am such a slacker... Confused)

Vicky That is terrible, his poor family. Hope you're feeling ok. My boss died suddenly, she was 36 and had a 6 month old baby. It was such an awful experience, but because their your boss people don't think it affects you as much -which it does.

Thanks
MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 08:18

heffalumps and smicha thanks for your suggestions re pictures, dad is easy enough to email them too but mum will need a lesson on how to get emails Grin I have whatsapp and mum can have it on her phone so that might be an option too.

Little man only had 6 minutes (again!) at last feed so I was only expecting an hours kip but we got 2.5. Not the best night though.

babylon that is amazing! Very pleased for you but also slightly Envy lol

MiniPopsMum2012 · 16/10/2012 08:19

BAbylon How's the little one? Any poonamis yet? Have you asked the dr for lactulose? I have it for minipop when he struggles, also give him cooled boiled water.

Hello to everyone who has joined (Sorry for not name checking you all Grin)

funch Slings are great aren't they? Minipop has just grown out of his so I've got a carrier now. It supports his pudding weight a bit better, IMhO

MRSN I think, even if I did look like shit, I'd be a bit miffed if my DP pointed it out! :) We had guests for dinner last night - the first ones since our bundle of joy arrived, it was a good night but I was shattered and at one point caught a look at myself in the mirror - Confused

Susieloo - lemon loaf cake - yum!

BAbylon Grin for the long sleep.. please send some sleep dust this way...

MRsN Agree with Heffalump WhatsAp or Kik are good ways to send pictures iwthout using up text allowance.

Tea hows the teething going?

Ewan arrived, he didn't work :( Think minipop's issues aren't sleep related - ie if it wasnt for his tummy or being sick, then he would actually sleep.

We have had a few awful nights, so I really am pinning all my hopes on the scan he has on thursday - hopefully they can work out whats wrong and sort out his treatment

We're also moving minipop to his own room tomorrow, as he sleeps so much better when we're not in the bedroom with us.

Right, am off to the supermarket to bulk buy matches for my eyes and some luggage tags for the bags under my eyes.

MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 08:56

Haha minipops my head was so sore I didn't have the energy to be miffed lol he said I didn't look very well and pale, but I know what he meant Grin

Clumsasaurus · 16/10/2012 09:35

Congrats babylon thats proper sleep Grin

babysaurus went own on first attempt at operation cot transfer... Complete rarity! Took me an hour of attempts to get him to sleep at the start of the night!

MrsN, I've been stung too - I also thought they were included and had to swallow a big bill grrrr. Neither my parents have smart phones so I'll have to resort to email

I'm loving the term poonami and may have to adopt it!

MummyVicky18 · 16/10/2012 09:38

Sad really hoped at 4 months baby J would be getting better but it just seems to be getting worse.

Well done Babylon I am so jealous Envy I with we could manage that

Goatbongosanonymous · 16/10/2012 09:56

vicky a lot of my friends have talked about the dreaded 4 month sleep regression Sad do you think it could be that? I guess at least then you know it doesn't last forever..l

minipops that sounds really stressful with all the sleep problems and waiting for appointments. What kind of scan is it?

clums straight down in the cot, again I am a bit Envy

I think my version of Ewan is not nocturnal - he worked well during the day but not at night. Or does he demand overtime for nighttime hours?

Evilwater · 16/10/2012 10:12

After several nights of relaxed feeding, last night at 0430 (why is it always 0430)I could only express a small amount. I'm using my medula swing.

We had to get formula again from tesco, and he drank over 100ml on top of my breast milk.

Any tips to increase my breast volume??
Evil

MiniPopsMum2012 · 16/10/2012 19:00

goat it's an ultrasound to see how bad his reflux is. He has been really bad today, crying nearly all day. No idea why though, not sure what's happening, just hope they can sort him out on Thursday.

Evil check out Kelly mom website, they have lots of useful information on there. :)

Goatbongosanonymous · 16/10/2012 19:11

Fingers crossed for you, minipop

evil there are also these websites:

Loislane78 · 16/10/2012 19:55

Good luck for the scan minipops you deserve a bit of a break :)

Had a serious poonami situation today. Went to get LO weighed and yep you guessed it, just as I was striping her off :) 3 days worth and it did come in waves, everywhere. Had a spare vest and managed to save her tights but stupidly didn't have a full outfit in changing bag - note to self!

Evilwater · 16/10/2012 20:14

Thanks goat and minipops for the website advice.

Loislane78 it's always the way, at least things are moving.

Here's hoping for a better night!

Smicha · 16/10/2012 20:25

Ewan has arrived! Hasn't worked so far as my 3 week old has been awake since 2pm...this is a long, long time for him to have been awake! There have been lots of tears in that time (him and almost me!), two poonamis and more feeds than ever before. What this means for tonight I have no idea but I'm putting a lot of faith in Ewan!

Typically this is all happening on a night dh has had to work late, so I haven't managed to eat anything other than a pear, some cold custard and chocolate!! I'm blooming starving!

Hopefully ds will sleep all night because he's so tired and well fed crosses fingers and hopes desperately

MummyVicky18 · 16/10/2012 20:54

Evening all

Grin at the poonami lois
Hope all is ok mini

Today has been filled with tears Sad more mine than baby J.

Luckily baby J has gone to sleep without too much trouble and I'm glad as DH doesn't get back til after 9 tonight.

I've had something to eat and gonna take myself off to bed soon, hope you all get a good few hours before we chat again

Greenone was it you that was getting the boots? Did you get them?

twizzlestix · 16/10/2012 21:25

Aaagh baby Twizzle is still awake. Won't be rocked, patted or fed to sleep! Now what?!!

Smicha · 16/10/2012 21:38

Twizzle, I'm in the same boat! I don't know what to do! He has now been awake for 8 hours!

funchum8am · 16/10/2012 21:50

Sorry to hear about tears and reflux, sounds like some babies on this thread owe their mummies a night like babylon had.

Babyfunch didn't want to settle in the Moses basket tonight so has fed to sleep on me in bed. Am about to attempt operation transfer....wish me luck!

Am feeling a bit weird as a member of my team at work (i am the leader of this team) has texted to say he has a meeting to discipline him on Thursday...I think he may resign which would be a big change in the team. He is a bit of a maverick and has done some things not by the book, which I had already warned him about, but is fantastic in many areas and I would be sorry to lose him. Think I will be awake all night dwelling on that regardless of baby behaviour :(

Still it's a change from thoughts of nipples and poo!

twizzlestix · 16/10/2012 22:26

At last! She's finally asleep and safely transferred into basket but who knows for how long!smicha I hope your little one has finally zonked out too.
Baby Twizzle has had 2 mucousy green poos today anyone know why that is? It's normally yellow. Could it be something I've eaten upsetting her tummy? She isn't pulling her legs up or anything.

funch I hope things go ok for your colleague maybe he's thinking worse case scenario and won't actually need to resign. It could be a minor talking too rather than an actual offical reprimand ifyswim.

:) louis at well timed poonami. Baby Twizzle ALWAYS wees when weighed :) Is the poonami situation what happens after BF for a while? Do they stop going mid feed and hold it for days? At what age does this change occur or is it a baby to baby type situation?

Evilwater · 16/10/2012 22:35

Well baby evil fed.
I'm now trying and failing, to pump off some more milk. See you ladies later if I have a bad night. Hopefully this will be my last post for the night.
Evil

Clumsasaurus · 16/10/2012 22:40

Struggling here tonight. It was vaccination day and my sweet little boy is not happy. Already had 2 doses of calpol and still not sleeping although overtired and desperate to. Both feeling sorry for ourselves. I can see us cosleeping, I'm so worried for him :-(

Evilwater · 16/10/2012 22:53

For anyone up there is good programe on Freddie mercury.

20 mins in and less than ten mls of BM, ill try the other side but it looks like formula again tonight. :(
Evil.

MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 22:57

Oh what a night! And it's only 11 Hmm

Little one hasn't settled for hours and hours. He has cried, I have cried, hubby hasn't!

Then I come on here and see others have had similar problems, if not worse, and I don't feel so alone or like such a failure. This thread is definitely a saviour at the moment.

Again, I'm not sure what tonight will bring but I feel like I need at least a couple of hours sleep in a row to be able to face anymore Confused

Good luck guys Biscuit

Smicha · 16/10/2012 22:58

He's asleep and transferred into cot! Finally! Instead of stealing some sleep myself, I stole a half hour cuddle on the sofa with dh as I miss him..hope I don't regret that later when mini smich wakes again!

Funch, hope you can sleep and don't end up worrying about work too much.

TeaandHobnobs · 16/10/2012 23:06

twizzle green poo isn't abnormal in the spectrum of bf poo, but if you get it for a long time, it could be a sign that baby isn't getting enough of the fatty hindmilk. But green poos here and there are nothing to worry about.

Evil you know that expressing isn't necessarily a good indicator of milk supply? If you are struggling to express, it could be something like stress inhibiting your letdown - I had this in the early days with all the pressure to express for DS when he was in SCBU. Sorry if you've already said and I've missed it, but are you just expressing to give a bottle at nighttime? Or topping up for weight gain reasons? The best way to up your supply is to get baby to the breast more often - probably the last thing you want to do at this stage, I found, but it is the best way to preserve supply.

DS rolled over today! Shock Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 16/10/2012 23:08

Oh and still no fecking teeth, despite him having pain for over a month now Angry

Sorry there are lots of tears around tonight Sad offering consoling hugs, Thanks, Brew and chocolate.
