Hello!
Carrying on are good work from the first thread , how do we keep are selfs awake? By chatting to each other sleepy heads!

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 02:34

We only managed 2 hours here as well Hmm hopefully get a bit longer after this feed! Hope we all do!

funch yea I have no idea what to do when he does it on both sides. Sometimes he does settle when I try the other side but not always and then I wish he could speak to tell me what's wrong!!

Smicha · 16/10/2012 03:07

Vicky, very sorry to hear about your boss. Hope you're ok.

I put mini smich in his cot tonight instead of in with me and so far he's been up every hour, so he can stay in with me for the rest of the night now as that seems the only way to get long sleeps. I wonder if he's too cold in his cot?

Just registered for nct postnatal classes in my sleepy state... money doesn't seem to be an object at this time of night! This mid-feed spending is quite good fun Grin

I typed this lying down! Yey! New skill mastered Smile took bloomin ages though

MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 03:12

smicha I am doing that course in January - when does yours start?

Smicha · 16/10/2012 03:20

End of November and runs until just before Christmas.

Susieloo · 16/10/2012 03:45

And third feed of the night after about two and a half hours, eyes stinging there do tired, hate trying to settle him after feeds at this time of night, always seems like hard work and it breaks my heart when he won't go back to sleep, would love to think he will go through until half five but I'm not hopeful Smile

twizzlestix · 16/10/2012 04:06

Another one on the third feed. I'm just praying that she go through until 6:30 or longer with it but experience leads me to believe she'll wake once more before 'getting up' or refusing to allow me to settle her back down.

Well done smicha typing lowing down is a worthwhile skill! We struggle to feed lowing down because I have to support my breast so I end up propped up on my elbow. I hope as she gets bigger I won't have todo that and I'll be able to relax properly.

Aaagh! Eyes are stinging! I need matchsticks to prop them open.

missingmymarbles · 16/10/2012 04:16

This is not good: been up for over an hour as Missmarbles not settling very well after 2nd feed Hmm Ewan struggling to maintain control Grin
Anyone else want to call him Shaun??

MummyVicky18 · 16/10/2012 04:19

Funchum, mrsnpatt, twizZle how old are your babies?

And thank god we have predictive txt as this would have taken so much longer to write if not. My eyes are glued.

Susieloo · 16/10/2012 04:23

And we're still up........

Would love lemon loaf cakeSmile mmmmmm cake

I am definitely going to French bistro tomorrow after last weeks cat/gas fiasco

Grinat Shaun the sheep

MummyVicky18 · 16/10/2012 04:42

Oh dear susie hope you manage to get back to sleep soon.

I'm just putting him down now so I'll be back later x

MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 04:44

We only got another hour here, zzzzzzz really sleepy. Really hope he has a big feed so will sleep longer! It always takes me a while to fall asleep which is annoying!

smicha you will have to let me know what it is like then Smile

vicky my little boy is 4 weeks! One month today actually!

Smallgreenone · 16/10/2012 04:47

We're still up too. I've just popped the heating back on to see if he was cold perhaps. He doesn't look very sleepy and its nearly 5, am starting to panic that I may not be going back to bed Sad
I'd like some lemon loaf, thank you.

Clumsasaurus · 16/10/2012 04:55

Checking in for the night shift...! Brew
smallgreenone he does seem to go for 2 long sleeps overnight to compensate for pathetic lack of napping, it's just a pain getting him to sleep! He has just gone 5 hrs and now feeding... Hoping for a smooth transfer back to th e crib as that's where it all falls apart and I spend ages picking him up again, refeeding to sleep (I know rod for my own back)

teandhobnobs i hope he does sleep post jabs. I'm dreading them Sad being v PFB about it but I can't bear the thought of him being in pain

Can't help with expressing tips as I'm horrible at it so will watch with interest!

Off to try operation cot transfer No 1!

MrsNPattz · 16/10/2012 05:02

Omg just noticed that my mobile phone bill is £20 more than it should be because of all the picture messages I have been sending!! I thought they were included in my usage Angry I can't carry on like that but i have been sending my family pictures every day because they are so far away and it's the only thing that has been keeping me sane about it Sad

funchum8am · 16/10/2012 05:04

vicky babyfunch is 12 days old.

smicha you have inspired me, am typing this one-handed while feeding lying down!

Pass the lemon loaf, I am starving after my daydreams of mince pies earlier!

I hope all of yoy who are hoping to get babies back to sleep til a sensible time succeed...it is way too early to get up (unless you are a weirdo early riser like my DH.

missingmymarbles · 16/10/2012 05:13

And we're up again! Growing, I think; in line with Babyloo.
I'm cold. I want a stay hot mug do I can have a cuppa in the night and a digestive biscuit to keep me going. The lemon loaf is just a treat, the digestive is sustenance Grin

Too little for rods at this stage, Smicha Wink Don't worry and go what you've got to do!

missingmymarbles · 16/10/2012 05:14

Sorry Blush Clumsa, not Smicha!

BabylonPI · 16/10/2012 05:35

Ahem - just done first feed since 10pm GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I have slept from 10.30pm til 5am and it feels like I've slept for a week GrinGrinGrin

Excuse my bragging, but after Saturday and Sunday night I think I deserved a good kip!!!!

Baby Babylon still warm but according to Braun Thermoscan Thermometer, not a temperature Confused

I'm sure he just needs a poonami - he often goes up to a week without one - it's perfectly normal in EBF babies apparently - anything up to 10 days in fact Hmm

Well I feel brand new and am contemplating getting up to do some of the housework I've neglected since last week Blush

Hope you're all getting some sleep GrinGrin

twizzlestix · 16/10/2012 06:12

Wow! Babylon that's an amazing stretch. No wonder you feel like new. Baby Twizzle went 5 hours once and I woke her up because my breast felt like they were going to explode.

My baby is 5 weeks old vicky

So she woke up didn't want milk, just wants to be held over my shoulder Confused wind maybe? Or just needs hugs? I'm hoping shell sleep for another hour but she seems to be disturbed by DH getting up :(

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 16/10/2012 06:14

Ooh i'll have some lemon cake if theres any left! yum :-D

Wow babylon that's fantastic! You certainly did deserve a good night after the last couple you've had Grin

mrsn depending on what phones you & your family have got have you tried 'whatsapp'? It's free to send pictures that way, saved me a fortune! I either send that way or I email them as my tight provider doesn't give me any free photo messages.

We've had another night starting badly but finishing well. Were up 11 to 1 but then sleep half 1 until now Grin I feel almost rested! DD1 will be up any minute so going to try the transfer of baby to crib now.

Susieloo · 16/10/2012 06:27

Sticking with the two hour schedule over here, really hope we are not up for the day, so tired I'm not sure I could face it.

Anyone else have high winds and heavy rain over night, quite stormy here.

Amazing sleep for you babylonGrin

Smicha · 16/10/2012 06:44

That's amazing Babylon! You deserved that.

We've haven't had the best night, even in my bed he still woke every hour but I think he had painful trapped wind which hasn't helped.

mrsn I had the same issue with sending pictures as my family are quite far away too, but I talked my mum through how to set up her email so she gets notifications in the same way as for a text and now I send them via email. Couldn't do that for my dad though as he still has a Nokia from about 2001 that he switches on once a month!

Susie I noticed the winds overnight too...what with that and mini smich's trapped wind, it was a blustery night in the smicha house! Smile

Smallgreenone · 16/10/2012 06:53

Grin babylon well done!
I heard winds last night too seems to have quietened down now so hope it's going to be nice. Weather has been pretty good the last few days and is so much better walking about when you don't have to wear full on storm clothing.

Goatbongosanonymous · 16/10/2012 06:59

Ooh, lemon loaf, am I too late?

Sorry to hear of your awful news, vicky what a shock.

babylon that's brilliant, you really deserve it!

Kid was back to taking 2 hours to finish a feed. My eyes are red enough to take up positions as traffic lights. And we have paed appointment today so have to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
Sorry, a moment of wallow there. Couple of slices of that lemon loaf and we'll be right!

Loislane78 · 16/10/2012 07:15

LOL missmarbles at Ewan struggling to maintain control Grin and I also keep calling him Shaun - my DP thinks i've completely lost it when I keep saying 'Shaun, sorry I mean Ewan' he he

Congrats babylon Is that technically sleeping through the night?!

Feeds at 12, 3.30 and now. Had to get up at 4 though as she didn't settle well after second feed. I have a theory she can self induce hiccoughs and then roots for a little drink/snack to get rid of them. Perhaps 9 wk olds are not that sneaky!

Weather not great here. Hope you all have a good day :) adding lemon drizzle cake to shopping list
