Goatbongosanonymous · 14/10/2012 12:12

Susieloo that's really tough. Brew for you and my thoughts with you. If your dp is immobile, can he at least have babyloo with him a bit to give you a break?

MrsNPattz · 14/10/2012 12:25

marbles they sound delicious! Yum Smile

Another new thing I have just discovered this morning is chocolate orange shreddies!! So so good, must try not to have them for every meal today Grin

susie aw that's really rubbish, hope you will get on ok! Do you have friends and family who could help?

MrsNPattz · 14/10/2012 12:25

And lol at goat

missingmymarbles · 14/10/2012 13:46

Grin Goat!

SadSusie; I hope you can get some rest. Is there anyone you can get to help you with anything?

The peanut butter squares are out of a Nigella book, but they're so easy I don't use the recipe anymore, and they are so good and energy boosting and bad for you!Grin

BabylonPI · 14/10/2012 14:48

Oh Susie that's pants SadSad

Poor you, and DH too of course cos it must hurt but how unfair Sad

This too shall pass Susie I broke my ankle when dd1 was 6 months old - I'd been back at work two days after maternity leave and ended up being off on crutches and full pay for another three months.

It was a nightmare as couldn't lift dd or get upstairs for a wee etc and DH had to go to work, so we were kinda stuck, but we managed, and we look back now and have a giggle at me weeing on a bucket as I couldn't get upstairs!!!! Wink

twizzlestix · 14/10/2012 17:17

Uh oh marbles you may be responsible for my rapid weight gain following the peanut butter square recipe!

susie I'm sorry that your DP is injured :( I hope you don't find it too difficult looking after him and Babyloo :(

MiniPopsMum2012 · 14/10/2012 19:15

Work, this thread is so busy. That great for me reading but not so great as it means babies aren't sleeping. Booooo!..

So, hot chocolate, Chocolate biscuits, iced mince pies, peanuts butter kit kats and home made peanut butter squares are all on offer tonight? Excellent.... Just need a gingerbread latte now and I am set :D

Minipop didn't settle very well last night, and we've had visitor's all day, so think he was a little over tired and over excited.

Just did bedtime feed which he promptly vomited back up all over my foot before falling asleep.

Think I am in for another fun night, bless him. He's snoring like a dinosaur on my shoulder at the moment.

Babylon I am visiting FPs family in Swad next week, can't wait to go back not least for the endless stream of willing baby sitters Grin

missingmymarbles · 14/10/2012 19:22

On the Ewan the sheep game, how do you get him to land on the higher tufts? He just flies straight past them, or through them, when I do itConfusedBlush

Bearcrumble · 14/10/2012 19:24

Hello - my DD is 6 months. Until she was 5 months she slept pretty well but for the last month she seems to wake constantly - like half an hour after finishing a feed. I don't think I slept for more than 20 mins at a time last night. Introducing solids (a week ago) hasn't made a blind bit of difference. I am going mad. Also have a bouncy non-napping 2.5yr DS.

Susieloo · 14/10/2012 20:06

Welcome bear

I can't play the Ewan sheep game either marbles I can only get him to jump on to the first one and then the second higher one and then he keeps falling offBlush

Babyloo having hopefully last feed before bed then its back downstairs to sort out dp who is deciding whether to sleep on the sofa so need to organise bedding etc. Then back up to bed for me, too tired for any downtime tonight. I attempted to give babyloo some calpol, his poor cheek is scarlet and he's not himself at all, he's also really struggling with my left boob so I'm having to express to stop it exploding.

Hope everyone gets some much needed sleep, I'm praying for an 8-1 stretch but think I'm living in a fantasy!!

No chocolate or snacks in the house tonight which sucks, I am definitely making the peanut butter squares very soonSmile

Loislane78 · 14/10/2012 20:07

susie that's terrible :( Hope you recruit some other help from somewhere.

Tried to do the EASY thing today, the feeding at least as LO on a similar schedule naturally anyway. Fed at 7, 10, 1, 4 and 6.30. She's in bed now so we'll see what happens tonight!

Also, (don't judge me!) I've put her Moses basket in her cot in the nursery. Its just a few meters away down the hall but I am just so twitchy about every grunt I get no sleep even when she is asleep when she was in our room. I feel guilty though :( It was easy to bf her in our bed and pop her back in the basket whereas I'll have to get up now. Well, we'll see...

MummyVicky18 · 14/10/2012 20:08

Evening all Smile

Ds has just gone to sleep Yeahy!!! But I'll see how the night goes.

I've been looking back through some old photos today and decided its time I get back on with the diet. I really want to be slimmer for Christmas and with 10 weeks to go I could get close to my pre-preg weight.

Anyway fingers crossed for a good night girls but I'm sure I'll be back on here about 2am x

Evilwater · 14/10/2012 20:17

He everyone,
I thought I'd cracked the feeds during the early morning, however I think I will be up alot.

My lovely sister bought over a jungle play mat, which is fantasic. The thing is being 9 days old I think she has overstuimulated him. I also think that he is a bit young for it, am I right??

I'm having trouble getting a good milk supply in the evening and early mornings, anyone got any advice?
Evil

BabylonPI · 14/10/2012 21:32

I think I might be in for another long night Sad
DS has a temp of 39 and has just had his first ever calpol to which he pulled a face like >>>HmmConfused

MiniPopsMum2012 · 14/10/2012 22:09

Oh Susie that is rubbish :( do you have anyone nearby who can help you out? I wish your DP a speedy recovery (sounds v painful!).

Loise we'er going to move minipop very soon, same reasons (and premmie babies are even louder than term ones), I have also noticed that the 7pm - 10:30pm sleep where he's in the room on his own, he sleeps better than when we're both in the room with him.

MiniPopsMum2012 · 14/10/2012 22:14

Fingers crossed temp comes down Babylon :(

Just catching up on the three pages of posts before bed Shock

Hello to anyone new :)

Sarita - how's the bottle feeding going? You have done an absolutely amazing job for bf so long.

Hope all the Ewan's are working their magic tonight and sprinkling sleepy mouse dust across all the little ones.

MummyVicky18 · 14/10/2012 22:21

Hmmm old made it 2hrs we disturbed him as he woke up Sad

Think I'm going to bring him upstairs tomorrow. Currently we have him downstairs with us until we go to bed but its disturbing him when we move him.

Susieloo · 14/10/2012 23:10

1st feed of the night-so much for my hopeful 8-1am stretch!!

evil I don't think they can see much at baby evils age they can just see contrasts and from what I've read it's more people and lots of noise and being passed around that overstimulates them.

Hope baby babylon starts to feel better soonSad

Thank you to everyone re kind words re dp, we do have lots of friends and family who can help so I'm going to try and use them if I can. He is currently in bed asleep with his leg on some pillows.

I think it was him coming to bed that disturbed babyloo tonight.

Hope everyone gets some zzzzzz. I think we will still be back around half oneSmile

funchum8am · 14/10/2012 23:19

Evening all, just done a short feed. I'm a bit worried about babyfunch as she has slep all day and hardly fed, and only done about 4 nappies. I had to wake her twice after she had slept for 3.5 hours each time, so she could get some milk into her. Is that much sleep normal at ten days old?

susie, huge sympathies re losing DH to injury. That sounds very difficult - hopefully you will find some creative ways to het everything done.

Hello bear and welcome!

evilwater I am hoping to get a baby gym soon (babyfunch is ten days) and not sure about the right age to start - I was planning to let her lie there and gaze at the toys on the arch and move to actually playing with them when she is a bit older.

Absolutely love that we have discussion of the Ewan game going on. Will definitely have to download it!

Good luck to everyone with tonight's fun and games - fingers crossed the starlight barking has the right message!

Smallgreenone · 14/10/2012 23:56

Oh no susie that's rubbish for you, sympathies.
I am crap at the ewan game too marbles it actually gets quite addictive but he does seem a bit suicidal and ready to jump into the sheep dip!
babylon hope your little one gets better soon.
Baby small has not really napped properly today- we took him to an event they had on in the park. It was such a gorgeous sunny day and they had stalls and an ale tent and a hog roast etc and it was so busy I think it overstimulated him and he missed his naps so am now worried this will be bad news for tonight. Currently waiting for him to fall asleep on me and wishing I had gone for a wee before I started feeding as am now getting desperate and can't move!

Clumsasaurus · 14/10/2012 23:59

Can I jo

Clumsasaurus · 15/10/2012 00:03

Whoops!
Can I join? My 9 week old babysaurus went from sleeping so well from 8 days old to being a monster the last few days. I've been trying to settle him to sleep for the last 3hrs with no joy. Just calpoled him so hoping it will help - keeps yelping in pain... Horribly afraid he's teething?! Chewing, drooling, whimpering.... Grrrr
I miss my lovely predictable nights!
Going to attempt crib put down number 7!!

twizzlestix · 15/10/2012 00:46

it seems like lots of people's previously sleepy babies have suddenly decided to wake lots at night. Maybe it's cyclical...maybe our wakeful babies will become sleepy later?

First feed of the night in the Twizzle household. Went 3.5hrs better than yesterday. Fingerscrossed it'll be followed by a sleep of similar length!

Goatbongosanonymous · 15/10/2012 00:47

Welcome bear and clumsasaurus
As minipopsmum says, lots to read on the thread tonight which is great for the entertainment but does mean everyone is up and not sleeping. Lots of Ewan game playing too by the sounds of things!
And all these tantalisingly yummy things being cooked/bought/consumed?! I can see all my resolve flying out the window (not that i had much to begin with). Why do I have such a sweet tooth when I never did pre-pregnancy, and chocolate brought on the dreaded MS?
evil re milk supply, I guess you have done all the stuff like drinking a large glass of water before feeding, breast massage and compression? Fenugreek is supposed to help. Though I can't tell if it has for me or not.

Susieloo · 15/10/2012 00:49

Welcome welcome clumsSmile

Babyloo is teething I think and I wonder if that is why he has just woken up again, not interested in food just desperate to eat his hand but he's also very drooly and has a bright red face.

fun I used to worry that babyloo was sleeping all day sometimes when he was baby funs age, sometimes I just think they need the sleep.

No idea what time we will be up again, all my predictions have gone out the window!
