Welcome bear and clumsasaurus :)

Susieloo i hope your DH makes a speedy recovery.

Babylon how is your DS's temp now? Hope he's ok & settling again for you.

We're on first feed of the night, annoyingly I had to wake babylump up as she filled her nappy but carried on snoozing, now after two nappy changes she is feeding but appears to be wide awake so we may be up a while. It's DH's first day back at work tomorrow, its been so nice having him around for help & company, (although he says he's knackered and is looking forward to going back to work for a rest!) I hope we manage ok in our own.

Goatbongosanonymous · 15/10/2012 01:33

Argh, I just lost a whole post!

Heffalump good luck tomorrow, I promise some things are easier on your own. And thanks for your message, will phone soon. Smile today was full of visitors and marking that is due tomorrow.

We have just had a really efficient feed, so it looks like things are back on track in that respect. Maybe Kid was just self-regulating after a week of insane guzzling. At least I can stop worrying

Susieloo have you tried teething powders? Apparently you can buy them again after the factory burned down.

funchum8am · 15/10/2012 02:08

Evening all, just done a short feed. I'm a bit worried about babyfunch as she has slep all day and hardly fed, and only done about 4 nappies. I had to wake her twice after she had slept for 3.5 hours each time, so she could get some milk into her. Is that much sleep normal at ten days old?

susie, huge sympathies re losing DH to injury. That sounds very difficult - hopefully you will find some creative ways to het everything done.

Hello bear and welcome!

evilwater I am hoping to get a baby gym soon (babyfunch is ten days) and not sure about the right age to start - I was planning to let her lie there and gaze at the toys on the arch and move to actually playing with them when she is a bit older.

Absolutely love that we have discussion of the Ewan game going on. Will definitely have to download it!

Good luck to everyone with tonight's fun and games - fingers crossed the starlight barking has the right message!

MummyVicky18 · 15/10/2012 02:13

Hi everyone Smile

Well I woke myself up!!!! Woke up and looked at the clock and thought Oooh maybe he's going to sleep through, put my head back to the pillow and bam 10 mins later he's up!

Very tired tonight my eyes feel glued together

Babylon I hope everything is ok & temp has gone down x

york33 · 15/10/2012 02:21

Hi ladies. Have come downstairs to feed my 4 week old and catch up on mumsnet.
Found in the early weeks feeding in bed fatal as I kept on nodding off.

funchum8am · 15/10/2012 02:24

Oops sorry for random double post!
Welcome clumsasaurus
Feeding again here, she did 3 hours which I'll settle for at her age.

Best of luck for tomorrow heff. My DH goes back on Thursday and I'm nervous about losing my support team. Will be quite amusing to see what time he gets home - he is a teacher ans normally gets home about half six due to terribly important meetings/things he has to do else the place would grind to a halt. He is so besotted with babyfunch o bet he leaves when the children finish (3.20) at least at first!

Baby falling asleep so not feeding very efficiently...could be a long feed followed by a short sleep here. Good luck everyone!

MrsNPattz · 15/10/2012 02:35

Hi to bear and clums

I just got from 11-2 so that's pretty good.

I 'invested' in love film on my iPad (well free trial at the moment) so have been watching desperate housewives during feeds today/tonight. I downloaded Ewan game but haven't played it yet Hmm

Hope the poorly babes get better soon!

MrsNPattz · 15/10/2012 02:40

york my little one is 4 weeks too Smile it's going so quick!

twizzlestix · 15/10/2012 03:12

Back again, less than 2 hrs later :(
horrid I was really worried about my DH going back to work but I've actually found it easier with him not home. Baby Twizzle and I have our own 'routine' (used v. loosely!)
susie I hope Babyloo is ok and the teething hasn't caused too many wakenings for you!
babylon hopefully your little ones temperature is lower. Iknow I'll be a panicky mess the first time my PFB gets poorly.

Susieloo · 15/10/2012 03:34

We are basically awake every hour now but only for feeds twice, no idea what's waking him if not teeth. Can't keep my eyes open, someone pass the matchsticks!!

Smallgreenone · 15/10/2012 03:55

Oh susieloo you poor thing. Hope he settles down soon.
Would it be wrong to have an espresso martini at times like this?! I used to love them in the days when I was allowed out and they do help keep you awake [wink[
Baby small has woken up and fed for 6 mins before falling back to sleep. Is that enough and do I risk putting him down to be woken again in an hour or wake him up and risk the danger of making him super awake........

Smallgreenone · 15/10/2012 04:00

It was a trick he isn't asleep at all!
Do you think it's sensible to push a pram in wedge heels? Need some new boots and have seen some with a wedge but not sure if they will be a stupid purchase?

MummyVicky18 · 15/10/2012 04:01

Id grab your sleep smallgreenone.

Baby j has only gone an hour & a half I think? Not too sure when the last feed ended & this one started Sad so tired

MummyVicky18 · 15/10/2012 04:05

Hmm wedges are supposed to be more comfy of heels. I suppose it depends how use to heels you are.

I wear flats so my feet would probably kill walking pushchair with any kind of heel.

I do miss my going out heels though Sad not been out round town in over a year

BabylonPI · 15/10/2012 05:17

Hey all, temp is up and down so giving calpol at regular intervals.

I haven't slept a wink and I'm so tired I'm close to tearsSad

DH is snoring next to me and I'm so envious Envy
Just 10 minutes would do Sad

Goatbongosanonymous · 15/10/2012 05:19

And in breaking news...
Two four-hour slots! 8:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30. So far.
I am hopeful of more although DH has just got up to prepare his lessons for today Sad
susieloo that's a tough call, every hour! Hope he gives you a break soon.
small it's all down to the amazingness of the boot, not the heel... Wink

MrsNPattz · 15/10/2012 05:29

Another 2 hours here.

I have been getting a horrible headache on and off all weekend. Comes on with a vengeance but then responds really quickly to pain killers. Any ideas what it is or is it just lack of sleep?

small I am also faced with the 6 minute dilemma - what did you do? And I would by the boots Grin (mind you my answer to making myself feel better since J was born is to spend, spend, spend Blush)

MrsNPattz · 15/10/2012 05:32

Oh small just saw that it was a 6 minute trick lol

Susieloo · 15/10/2012 05:39

We just did two hours which is the longest he's slept all night. I gave into tears at about half two babylon just through sheer frustration that he was awake again,

Mmmmmm espresso martini, that sounds v good, never had one but will go nicely with the peanut butter squares.

Susieloo · 15/10/2012 05:41

I've got a permanent headache mrs and I think it's just tiredness.

MrsNPattz · 15/10/2012 05:44

Thought so Susie

Do you guys read any other posts/threads/topics? I always look at sleep, breast feeding and parenting but just wondered if there were any other interesting ones!

MummyVicky18 · 15/10/2012 05:56

Yeah I seem to have a spending bug atm I've got a bit addicted to eBay so I'm glad I've found here as its stopped me searching for stuff on there.

missingmymarbles · 15/10/2012 05:57

Oh Susie Sad could you not co-sleep just to get some rest? Particularly if your DH is on the sofa?

How's baby Babylon? It's do horrible when they're poorly Sad

Vicky and Small, I wear flats mainly too, or low heels, coz I'm tall and don't want to be taller than DH, whose only an inch an a half taller Grin I need a new pair if boots though....

Nice one, MrsN! Missmarbles fed somewhere around 1.30 and then just now. She sounds really snotty again, and is still over my shoulder, so I hope she stats settled when I put her down in a minute. Why do they get so snuffly? I'm pretty sure she doesn't have cold. Small noses, I guess.

Clumsasaurus · 15/10/2012 06:51

Wow! I just got 6 hrs! Was SO not expecting that!

Re wedges, I have worn high heeled boots and pushed the pram and felt pretty stable.

I dreaded DH going back to work and I promise it's been easier most of the time without him Hmm we just seem to get on with it where now I find he hinders operations or bounces babysaurus right after a feed and wonders why he's covered in sick?! Or my favourite - duff nappies that leak which seems to make him cross... If you don't put it on right.. You deal with the aftermath Mr!

Babysaurus is now filling his nappy in spectacular style... Better brave the cold change table...

MrsNPattz · 15/10/2012 06:55

The 6 minute feed meant us only getting an hour until time for feeding again!

vicky glad it's not just me, although I had better not got used to it as I won't be able to spend so much when my maternity pay goes down Sad

marbles my little one always seems to sound bunged up to Confused maybe you are right about the little noses!
