OP posts:
Goatbongosanonymous · 14/10/2012 04:51

Mrsn I now need one...

IShallCallYouSquishy · 14/10/2012 04:53

Ooh yes please goat that will be more than sufficient!

The cot transfer was a no go! Her "I'm more than a foot away from mummy's boob" sensor went off Sad

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 14/10/2012 04:55

sarita glad your bottle feeding has been accepted, well do e for 7 months of bf that's fantastic, hope you are now able to get a bit of rest.

Peanut butter kitkats have got to be one of the best inventions ever! I want one now...having to settle for dried dates, seriously boring after the thought of peanut butter!

missingmymarbles · 14/10/2012 04:57

Does anyone else think Ewan is actually quite loud??

MrsNPattz · 14/10/2012 05:00

Sorry for starting peanut butter cravings..........

Smicha · 14/10/2012 05:00

Hi Emmie!

Sounds like bad nights for lots of you. I'm having an odd night! Took ds to meet family and out for lunch for my sister's 30th yesterday and he slept the 2 hour journey there and back, he also slept most of the day as he was handed round for cuddles and as we were in a restaurant I didn't feed as much as at home so I was expecting a sleepless, hungry night. Instead he stayed awake from 9 til 11 with dh and I slept, then fed, then woke at 1 for a very quick feed than slept til 4.30! He's now having a mammoth feed, but I've had some sleep that I definitely wasn't expecting! All the cuddles must have tired him out!

Saritabean · 14/10/2012 05:27

Oooh heffalumps, the phil and teds cocoon has been our saviour- we have loved it and periwinkle just about still fits in it and I'll be gutted when she grows out of it! All my fellow mummy friends have been quite jealous of it as she just goes to sleep in it when we're out so easily! She has been mistaken for a toolbag before now though....!!! :o :o

3rd bottle- 80mls gone again- yey! Once she's stopped though she won't seem to accept it back for seconds, but still seems to rooting around, and I'm sure if offered boob (which unfortunately isn't an option!) she gobble it up in no time!!! Any tips to get her to take it back again...?

And now I'm gonna have to express a bit as boobs bursting again.... Aaarrrgh- bloody hate expressing having had to do it for so long at the start, hope I won't have to do it for too long now.

MummyVicky18 · 14/10/2012 06:06

Hi guys, are there any biscuits left? Smile

Not been too a bad a night had roughly 2.5/3 hrs sleep between each feed and he has dropped off straight away.

Although this is why I'm reluctant to try and stop him sleeping on the boob as I will lose my sleep definitely Sad and tonight is a relatively good night

Hi emmie my DH doesn't get up in the night. He did in the beginning but was so exhausted going to work. I couldn't imagine getting up like this & going to work so I let him sleep although he will get up if I ask.

If say a support network is good you need to moan etc so if you have no one to talk to I'm glad I've found here. My DS is 16 weeks and I've only just found here and it's made my nights so much better. Also if you need to talk to someone try the cow & gate line it's 24/7 x

BabylonPI · 14/10/2012 06:55

Yes persevere by keep putting him on and if he's too loud have a rummage in his tummy for his loudness box and turn him down to the low level Wink

I've just had a 3hr45min stretch from my two charges, which I don't think is too bad, hoping for another couple of hours once DS has finished feeding, but tbh it's not sounding likely!! Hmm

twizzlestix · 14/10/2012 07:26

After joining you all and de-lurking, we had an exhausting night. No long sleep (3hrs in the twizzlestix house) every sleep was 2hrs or less :( I couldn't even read the thread let alone coherently write on it. My eyes are red rimmed and I'm slow blinking. Baby Twizzle, however, is comfortably snoozing on me! Will catch up and come back.

Goatbongosanonymous · 14/10/2012 07:33

Oh yes twizzle my eyes are so red you could stop traffic with them... DH has the screaming monster so I can get some sleep.

Exactly where is that switch, babylon ?!

vicky there are always biscuits left - here, have the box Smile

Smallgreenone · 14/10/2012 07:36

Well the sleepy mice did visit in the end and I have had 4 hours. Hope others got some precious zzzzzzz's too. It's such a relief isn't it when you hear them waking and you look at the clock and it isn't 4 or 5 but is in fact a normal time to get up!
I have never had a peanut butter kit kat but my god I want one! I've just tried to add one to this weeks online shop but they don't do them, will have to search them out in a real shop later today.
Right then I am off to start the day and exhaust piglet so we have a better night tonight! Have a good day all and see you later.

twizzlestix · 14/10/2012 07:37

Hi Emmie you little one sounds as if they have same sleep pattern as mine. 2-3hrs is a killer I keep hoping it'll stretch out a bit 3-4hrs just sounds do much better but I think at only 5 wks it's a bit unrealistic.

susieloo perhaps our babies compared notes. It l

twizzlestix · 14/10/2012 07:44

It looks like we were both up at around the same times! 11pm, 1:30am, 2:45am, 5am and finally 6:30. Yuck! I too feel horrid but my DH is worse than a chocolate teapot. He's so awkward with baby Twizzle she just won't fall asleep on him and will not be calmed so it's all about mummy! :(

Not sure what happened with earlier post, think sleep deprivation is to blame!

p.s peanut butter kitkats are delish! I also LOVE reeses peanut butter cups. Mmm chocolate for breakfast :)

MrsNPattz · 14/10/2012 07:55

Ok thanks babylon - will stick at it.

We managed another 2.5 hours and little man is also asleep on me now, going to try transferring him Hmm

Pouring down outside so we will be doing nothing today - just lots of sugar and sleep hopefully!

Hope you find a peanut butter kitkat susie - so worth it! I got mine from Tesco if that helps.

missingmymarbles · 14/10/2012 07:57

Wow! I heart Ewan!! Combined with the fact I didn't fall asleep with Missmarbles on my shoulder, which meant she wasn't disturbed going in the cot, she settled much better. She did 8.30-1.35, 1.50-4.30 and 5-still asleep!! Two night feeds, I can't quite believe it! Bizarre for me too, as DD1 fed every 2 hours for months and months and I can't remember how old she was before she stopped waking in the night.
She's just woken up, will read properly late. Hope everyone got some sleep. Happy Sundays Smile

Loislane78 · 14/10/2012 08:20

LO in bed at 6.30 last night after a feed at 5.30. She was too fractious/ tired to take more before sleep hence v early night. Then had feeds at 11, 1.30. 5 and 7 - more than she used to have!

Think I'll try and tank her up today so she has more feeds in the day, especially the afternoon as think that was the prob.

Re. dummies, mine refused one until 6 wks and I tried a few kinds. Apparently their sucking for comfort thing stops about 3 months so I'll be withdrawing it then if she doesn't need it but lifesaver for me ATM!

Hope all your DPs let you have nice naps today :). The mummies have earned em!

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 14/10/2012 08:24

sarita I'm amazed, the cocoon seems to be the magic solution (for now anyway!) I put her in it at 1am, carried her upstairs in it & put it next to me in her bedside crib, she woke for a feed at half 4 and went straight back down in it until now. I can't believe it! Will try again tonight to see if it was just a fluke! Grin Grin at being mistaken for a toolbag!

As fab as this thread has been for my sanity its turning out to be bad for my waistline...shopping list today now includes iced mince pies, resees pieces and chunky peanut butter kit kats...oh dear!

This morning is turning out to be lovely, DD1 woke up about 5ish so she came in and snuggled back to sleep between DH & I, DD2 just finished her feed and now snoozing on my chest. I love morning cuddles, especially when it's actually a very reasonable 8am! :)

Sorry that the sleepy mice don't sound as if they visited everyone last night, hope you can all get rested today & tonight goes better. You're all doing fantastically, just think of when all our tiny little baby DCs are 16 and we can get our own back when they're trying to sleep in until midday!

Smicha · 14/10/2012 08:29

We are just up for the morning feed after another 2.5 hours sleep. One of the best nights we've had...but the first time I've let ds sleep in our bed all night... (poor dh is permanently in the spare room) Now I have a conundrum, more sleep but a baby who won't sleep in his cot or less sleep and a better routine Sad. I just hope Ewan makes a difference when he turns up this week!

missingmymarbles · 14/10/2012 09:04

Smicha I think visiting dies wear them out. I think it's the extra stimulation if new people and surroundings. DH spent a lot of time of time in the spare room when DD1 was a baby but it passes.

Peanut butter kitkat are delishGrin but nicer than reeses buttercups are homemade peanut butter squares and they are so easy can even be made with a teeny baby on your arm. Beat, easiest with a mixer, equal weights of smooth peanut butter and icing sugar and quarter if that weight soft brown sugar and butter all together. Press into grease proof paper lined tin and cover with melted chocolate mmmmm (200g p/butter makes an 8"x8" tin) Doesn't help dieters much. I've decided not to do anything about my weight til Missmarbles is 6 months.

BabylonPI · 14/10/2012 09:48

Ewans button for loudness is located on the little plastic box in his belly Wink

I'm knackered!!!! Grin

missingmymarbles · 14/10/2012 09:59

I've got it on the quiet setting but I still think that's quite loud.

Goatbongosanonymous · 14/10/2012 11:31

Oh! I thought you meant the loudness button on the baby!! Grin

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 14/10/2012 11:37

marbles those sound delicious, I think I will try making them with DD1 next week. :)

Susieloo · 14/10/2012 11:58

Dp has fractured his knee playing football yesterdaySadSad this means I am now going to be doing everything including all the things that he did do, bathing, walking him early evening so I could have a shower, shopping and all the houseworkSad I'm so tired at the thought of it on top of how tired I actually am. Babyloo is now way too tired to sleep and I'm quite worried about how little sleep he has hadSad in the past 24 hours.

So far not a good day!!!!!!!
