Goatbongosanonymous · 12/10/2012 22:05

Just had a conversation with DH:
Me: Everyone says that Ewan the Sheep is helping with night time sleep.
DH: Where do you get him from?
me: Amazon.
dH: Oh no! that means we have to wait! Quick, where else can you get this from?

We are getting him from Amazon. I note there were only two left in stock, I take it because everyone here is buying one! Grin

MummyVicky18 · 12/10/2012 22:28

Hi all I'm new to mumsnet and found your thread last night.

Can I join you all as DS is up several times during the night and would love the company x

Smicha · 12/10/2012 22:35

I'm planning on getting a Ewan this weekend as the white noise we've been creating with the hairdryer is starting to get annoying! My cousin had a baby this week and my Mum asked me what I thought a useful present for them would be...I suggested Ewan! She's off to order one too Smile

Feeding now...wonder how tonight will go...I couldn't post last night as I was so tired and frustrated that reading was all I had the energy for! DS had decided to sleep for two hours, then wake for two, sleep for two, wake for two... In each of the two waking hours he required changing and feeding twice, got the hiccups and was sick! At least DH is on nappies tonight as it's the weekend!

Wishing you all a sleep filled night!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 12/10/2012 22:52

Goat - amazon prime. Best £50 I spent when having Minipop. :)

seriously need to catch up on posts again.

Minipop has been asleep since 7pm feed he's due another one now but was fast asleep, until I snuck into bed. Now he's stirring, bah.

Fingers crossed for a hat trick of good nights.

MrsNPattz · 12/10/2012 23:13

Hi vicky nice to 'meet' you, how old is your son?

I think I'm in for a rubbish night, as had a good night last night and a pretty good day today - although he hasn't slept at all in his Moses basket and has been sick a lot Sad not quite sure why all the sick?

marbles it was me that laughed at the sick on his head and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry this morning when it was all over his head and face - even in his eyes poor thing! I nearly took a picture but thought better of it Blush

Anyway, not holding out for much sleep tonight so any I do get is a bonus!

MummyVicky18 · 12/10/2012 23:20

Hi Smile

My son is 16 weeks old. Had a bad week of sleep this week as he refused to go back to sleep after 2am feeds. Been up most nights 2-5 Sad However last night he woke lots but went straight back to sleep so was happier with that.

We'll see what tonight brings..... See you at the next feed Smile

Susieloo · 12/10/2012 23:27

First feed of the night and had to strip babyloo off because he had managed to wee outside his nappy or had nappy sweats, he was not impressed. He definitely can't stay awake anymore past about half seven in the evening, hoping for a four o clock second feed but we shall see!!

Hello vickySmile

funchum8am · 12/10/2012 23:37

Hi ladies and welcome vicky. We are at a hotel for DH's cousin's wedding so babyfunch's first night away from home. She cried for a feed just before the bride arrived for the ceremony so I escaped in the nick of time to our room and fed her, and then she slept beautifully through the meal so I got to enjoy that.

Then we came to bed about 8 and I fed her and she slept til just now. I am thanking my lucky stars we have got away with bringing her and not having her scream the place down!

I am really amused that we are clearing Amazon out of Ewans! Mine should arrive by Tues at the latest....can't wait to test him out.

Just realized I have no snacks...I wonder if room service have iced mince pies....

Happy sleeps everyone :-)

Smallgreenone · 13/10/2012 00:16

Hi all, I chose........a long walk with the dog, then collected piglet and met a friend for a big fat hot chocolate Grin. I really wanted a sleep but thought a walk was a compromise as relaxing but also good for me!
First feed now. Ewan has worked his magic already - 7 until 11.45 so I hope that's going to continue for the night. I ordered mine from amazon and he came pretty quickly so don't worry goat you'll have him soon!
Hi vicky
Good luck at the wedding funch we took piglet to a wedding when he was 4 weeks. He did the same cried through the service and slept through the meal which was great as I had feared I wouldn't get to eat. He loved all the cuddles from all the guests and ended up having his best ever sleep that night so hope yours does too.
Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight, see you all later

funchum8am · 13/10/2012 01:03

Babyfunch just had a really short sleep unfortunately but may go down for a while if I really fill her up now. Will feed both sides if I can keep her awake and hope that works!

MummyVicky18 · 13/10/2012 02:05

Hi thanks for the welcome guys. I'm up for feed no2 seems to be settling during the feed so hopefully I can get back to sleep.

Sounds like the trip to the wedding is going well. We took baby J away at 10 weeks for the weekend and to our surprise it was the best he has ever slept. Not slept like it since Sad

Right well see u all around 4am (well that's the usual time anyway)

Susieloo · 13/10/2012 02:24

Up for feed number two, perhaps four was a bit optimistic!!

I'm guessing we will be back at half five which sucksSad

I has my first experience today of non stop crying in Starbucks, met a friend for coffee and breakfast and I couldn't pacify him, he didn't want a clean nappy or food and he only stopped crying when I took him outside! He'd stop and then as soon as we walked inside he started again, maybe he doesn't like the smell of coffee!!

Hope everyone getting some big sleeps, throwing sleepy dust around and hope the sleepy mice are heading your waySmile

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 13/10/2012 03:03

Hi ladies, and welcome vicky :)

Downstairs again tonight, just had a feed & hopefully baby lump is going to drop back off & I can get some more sleep. The bonus of being downstairs being at least I can watch rubbish on tv while I'm up and I'm closer to the chocolate

Hope your wedding went well funch & baby funch was a good boy for you.

Smicha · 13/10/2012 03:22

Ah, Amazon one click ordering on a mobile phone...dangerous, but Ewan is on his way! DS does not want to sleep right now and DH has disappeared to the spare room. So much for help with nappies! We are taking DS on his first road trip tomorrow for a family celebration two hours away, so I did agree it would be best for DH to sleep so he's wide awake to drive. I'm still jealous of him though! Wish he was capable of feeding!

DS has fed and been changed but his eyes remain wide open and unsleepy. When we were younger his father was a bit nocturnal and liked to stay up all night at the weekend, I fear this may have rubbed off on our son Smile

MrsNPattz · 13/10/2012 03:55

My poor baby has a cough Sad it's horrible! It doesn't seem to be bothering him but what can I do? Should I be worried?

Sounds the wedding was a success funchum, that's great! My sister in law gets married in Feb, little man will be 5 months so hopefully he will be good too! They want to put him in a little kilt Hmm lol

I'm also finding it funny the amount of Ewan's being bought - there will be nobody left on this post next week haha

Smallgreenone · 13/10/2012 03:58

Ha ha smicha I fear the same here! DH has been known to stay up all hours although not for many years perhaps its only understandable that piglet does the same!
Second feed now, forgot snacks, starving, too tired to drag myself downstairs to the kitchen and also bright lights would unsleepy piglet so will just starve and think of my waistline!

funchum8am · 13/10/2012 04:26

Next feed here, sooo glad she lasted til gone 4. Really wish I had snacks though! Still, nice hotel breakfast on the horizon at 8am. Will also think of my waistline til then. Happy snoozing everyone...

MiniPopsMum2012 · 13/10/2012 04:45

Morning everyone, welcome vicky.

Glad they wedding went well. funch

Mrsn Dr said nothing they can do for cough except keep an eye on it & go back if it sounds like it spreads to chest. It's horrible hearing it though isn't it?

small very impressed with your walk, I would have slept :) I am really craving hot chocolate now, with cream & mini marshmallows.

susie weird about Starbucks, maybe it was the smell or the sound? Since moving out of London I really miss Starbucks. If we were having a particularly bad day I pop Minipop into the sling or pushchair & walk to Starbucks for a takeaway.

Whereabouts is everyone from?

heffa rubbish tv & chocolates here too [ grin]

Right, scrubs is done, I have polishes off all the digestives and we've done the 30 mins post feed hold so I am off to bed

(apologies to anyone's post I missed :))

wishing you all sleepy babies.

Smallgreenone · 13/10/2012 05:28

Aaaaaargh we're awake again Sad
I miss Starbucks too, we don't have one here and I would like a caramel macchiato Sad

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 13/10/2012 05:35

We seem to be on 2 hourly wakings tonight, which is ok as I'm getting to sleep in between. She's just dropped off but then filled hr nappy so I'll have to wake her up now to change it :(

funch just realised I said boy when I meant girl...sorry! Blush

mrsn hope your lo's cough isn't too bad, I don't think there's much you can do except lots of cuddles and sympathy.

minipop we live just outside London at the moment, although planning to relocate to Cornwall next year . How about you?

Stupidly I didn't nap this evening but stayed up watching Harry potter instead. Regretting it now though the extra sleep would have kept me going a bit better, lesson learnt!

Hope those sleepy mice have been visiting :)

Goatbongosanonymous · 13/10/2012 05:47

Argh, this isn't proving the best of nights. Two major pukes, an hour or so of screaming, and now on third feed since 1. As everyone says, roll on Ewan! (Have also annihilated the Fox's selection box - am thinking about my waistline as in will I ever see it again?)
Glad the wedding is going well, funch - Including the night by the sound of it.
Susie_ maybe he saw the cakes?
Minipop digestives? Mmm... Plain or chocolatey?
Good luck with the road trip smicha does your DS enjoy being in the car?
Ah, kid is finally gently resting on my shoulder. Maybe sleep is on the way.
Sorry if I have missed any posts in my slightly sleep deprived haze. Hope everyone sleeps till morning now.

Smallgreenone · 13/10/2012 05:52

Oooh heff relocating to Cornwall that sounds heavenly.
Piglet just wanted a cuddle so I have him on my chest now asleep and the big pig (DH) is next to us snoring. Wondering if I can roll onto my side to sleep or if it will wake the small one and also is there any point because DH is so bloody noisy!

Susieloo · 13/10/2012 05:52

Bang on half five-again, I wish he would drop one of his night time feeds, just one would be amazing......

Minipop we are on the English side of the welsh border, very, very rural and I love it.

heff dss is staying tonight so when he gets up with me at seven ish to help with the baby we are going to watch hp and the philosophers stone-his dad has got him into lord of the rings and all the superheroes and so dss has so far not been bothered by hp (I think he thinks they're girly!!) I was watching part two of seven the other day and he thought it looked amazing so I said if he's going to watch them then we have to start at the beginning.

Who mentioned hot chocolate? I really want one nowSmile

We will be up for the day by half seven at the latest I think, going to try for another hour Smile

MummyVicky18 · 13/10/2012 06:24

Well ds didn't drop off until 3 and I've been lucky to get til 6 although might have got longer if it wasn't for my stupid phone!!!!Angry I have a crappy old iPhone which likes to turn itself off at its own pleasure and it decided to buzz/ vibrate whilst doing it even though I have all the sound turned off

Anyway he's feeding now & hopefully will drop off again for a while.

I'm from Derbyshire so quite a distance fr you girls by the sound of it and everyone has now go me wondering about this Ewan & craving a coffee/ hot choc (maybe I should combine the two and go out for a mocha?)

I'll see you girls tonight Smile this has made the whole getting up thing a bit more bearable Smile

Susieloo · 13/10/2012 06:38

And we're upSad

I've decided dp is getting off very lightly with the whole sleep deprivation thing, because he spends so much time driving for his job and because I'm bf I've always got up with babyloo and on his days off I always let him sleep in but it occurred to me this morning that after I've fed babyloo at half five there's no reason he can't get up with him for a couple of hours. He does take him out for a walk early evening so I can have a bath etc and often says why don't I get some sleep then but it's the wrong time of day!! Think I need to gently start suggesting he does some of the early morningsSmile
