TeaandHobnobs · 10/10/2012 02:48

First feed, damnit Sad so that's three hours.

Goat if that's daytime you are talking, I wouldn't let them go any more than 4 hours.

MrsNPattz · 10/10/2012 02:50

I only have 2 satsumas as snacks tonight - boring!! I hope you have something more interesting heffalump

Smallgreenone · 10/10/2012 03:21

Hello first feed going on here since he went to bed at midnight so I guess we're on 3 hourly feeds which is better than last night where he fed solidly from 11 until 2 and then wanted more at 4!
Amazon have advised that ewan the sheep is on his way to me- yay!

Smicha · 10/10/2012 03:29

Second feed here...as expected I think he is cramming in an extra one tonight. Although I think the wet nappy was to blame for his wake up rather than hunger.

I have a cereal bar as snack tonight. Boring! Didn't dare bring the pack of hobnob cookies to bed as they're so disappointingly small I can eat them in one bite and would eat the whole pack. That's the problem with online shopping, inability to judge the size of the biscuit when getting sucked in by their special offers! Smile

Susieloo · 10/10/2012 03:38

2nd feed of the night over here but we have not had a particularly restful three hours because dp has been snoring and thrashing around like he's being chased by wild bears or something.

Glad you all got a smile from my cat and gas story, I had to ring my mum back after the engineer had been to tell her everything was fine and she couldn't speak for five minutes she was laughing so muchGrin

Not sure that feed was worth waking up for so think we will be back around half five Smile

funchum8am · 10/10/2012 03:47

2 brief false alarms since last feed and she has now latched on properly. Babyfunch has developed a daft habit of stuffing both hands into her mouth just as I try to bring her to the breast; then she wails because she's not getting fed! They're not very bright at this age, are they?

DH has got up and is going to sleep a bit longer with her downstairs to give me some deeper sleep time. Hopefully this is the last feed before morning for all of us....

Snack du soir is homemade banana cereal bars!

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 10/10/2012 03:49

I certainly do mrsnpattz, it involves chocolate Grin

Baby lump has just dropped off on my chest, we had an hours sleep earlier then woke to the now obligatory middle of the night poo. After changing she wanted feeding again but was very unsettled afterwards, I think due to wind but I struggled to get her to bring it up. Now waiting to let her go into deep sleep before I try putting her down again.

Hope the rest of you are coping tonight and there's lots of nice long chunks of sleep going on.

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 10/10/2012 03:51

funchum homemade banana cereal bars sound amazing, even though I have chocolate I am a little jealous!

missingmymarbles · 10/10/2012 04:13

And now we have gigglingSad
We did get 3 hours between midnight and 3 but am feeding again at 4. I could cry....

Susieloo · 10/10/2012 04:21

Our babies are behaving exactly the same again marbles we have been up since half three and he doesn't seem that bothered about going back to sleep, I have just had to go downstairs and have a little weep, there is nothing more frustrating than a baby that won't settle, also not sure how much longer I can keep going on three hour blocks of sleepSad

It's jabs for babyloo today which last time resulted in blood curdling screaming and no sleep until 8am, dreading itSad

MiniPopsMum2012 · 10/10/2012 04:36

We're up for first feed of the night, last one was at 10:30pm, all I need to do is work out how to get Minipop to sleep for the whole five hour gap instead of waking everything hour :( his snotty nose isn't helping either

need to catch up on posts.

How are all the ewans doing?

susie funny story Grin better safe than sorry though!

goat what kind of music things do you do? :)

Evilwater · 10/10/2012 04:40

An I join?
I have a 4 day old son. I've just spent 1h and 15 mins feeding him,had to express and manged 10ml. Been awake all nite as he generally is crying from 2-6. Not tonight had to wake him.

I have to feed him at 6, again. I'm going to and express before hand so it's quicker.
Evil.

missingmymarbles · 10/10/2012 04:40

Please tell me this is a growth spurt. Since going to bed, she's fed at 9.30, 11.30, 3.00, and 4.00. She's now sharing my bed in a vain attempt to get to 7.30. I'm going to town to by a sheep this morning. I realise if its a growth spurt this may not help, but need to try as these are not 'proper' feeds, I don't think.
This too shall pass......

missingmymarbles · 10/10/2012 04:46

Lots of cross-postsSmile
Hi Evil
Susie, Missmarbles second jabs were easier than first, if that gives any hope. She barely noticed them second time around. She had a bit of a cold too though, so any grizzling she did have not sure which to attribute it to.
Mini here you are Brew Biscuit

Susieloo · 10/10/2012 04:52

Hello minipop and welcome evil and congratulations on you lo.

Babyloo isn't feeding properly either marbles or not feeding like he has on previous growth spurts. He stayed awake all day so went to sleep at 7.40, up again at 11.00 ish then back to sleep at twelve then up at 3 and has been awake on and off ever since and is now wide awake. We did better when he napped in the day and went to sleep at nine. He isn't really that hungry when he's waking up after the first feed.

Goatbongosanonymous · 10/10/2012 05:18

Hmm, I'm afraid Heffalump wins on the snack stakes

Lots of screaming tonight. I don't think the Gaviscon is working. marbles and susie we too are on to feed number 5 so I really sympathise. Do you think they are comparing notes again?

Minipop hope your own cold is better. Musicwise we spend lots of time lepping round the room to some great CDs of action songs, or doing low/high, fast/slow stuff. Or rather, I do while Kid looks at me in bemused fashion, obviously wondering if it's too late to swap his mum for someone sane...

Welcome, Evil. Draw up your nursing chair and have some hot chocolate.

MrsNPattz · 10/10/2012 05:35

Yum to chocolate and home made cereal bars - funchum that is very impressive, did you make them?

I am starving tonight but really can't be bothered going downstairs. Second feed here, really tired and have a head ache. He is sleeping now so going to try and put him down Hmm

missingmymarbles · 10/10/2012 05:47

And 5.45

Smicha · 10/10/2012 05:52

MrsNPattz I think we must be up at the same time each night! How old is your LO?

We are on feed number 3. We usually have just 2 a night so I'm hoping this is a growth spurt and after we've gone back to sleep for 3 hours (wishful thinking) I'll wake up to a giant baby! Grin

Homemade banana cereal bars are making my mouth water!

Goatbongosanonymous · 10/10/2012 06:16

Where did I miss homemade banana bars? Can I join the queue?

Now feeding and yelling simultaneously. You have to admire the ability to multitask.

funchum8am · 10/10/2012 06:48

I did indeed make the cereal bars (domestic goddess that I am). It took about ten mins plus oven time - like a flapjack recipe only I put a load of seeds in so I could claim they are healthy and eat loads more!

So DH took babyfunch downstairs in her basket so I could sleep at about 3.45. She cried for a feed so he brought her back at about half four. Since he wasn't in with us I fed her lying down and then slept til half six when she cried for a feed but only fed for 3 mins before dropping off again. So I have had some sleep, though broken up, and am starting to think that this feeding while lying down may be the way forward - we can both drift off to sleep more easily. BUT it means kicking DH out of bed. I didn't want to do that but the bed just isn't big enough for all 3 to be safe.

Have just remembered heffalump's troll bedside cot....am going to order it today! Could be the solution!

Welcome evilwater my LO is 6 days so at a similar stage - every day and night has been different so far over here! Hope you yourself are recovering well from the birth.

MrsNPattz · 10/10/2012 08:26

smicha haha yes I think so! My little man is 3 weeks! Hold is your little one?

Not the best night last night but I didn't need Ewan!

funchum good on you that sound soooo good!

MrsNPattz · 10/10/2012 08:26

smicha obviously that should have said how old not hold lol!

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 10/10/2012 20:05

Right, I am joining team Ewan, mine is ordered and on its way. I can't remember which of you first suggested him but I hope you're getting commission!

funchum I am impressed, all I've managed to 'cook' since baby lump was born is toast!

We had our 10 day midwife check today, I was a bit worried we wouldn't have got back to birth weight as she's been quite sick the last few days but turns out I needn't have worried as she's now up to 10lbs! Midwife said the sick was probably because she's just being a little greedy guts and taking more than she has room for. So we're discharged now and over to the health visitors, I'm hoping they're good round here as our last lot were nice but a bit rubbish.

Off for a nap in a bit, then we'll see what tonight brings. Hope everyone's had relatively restful days in preparation for another night feeding all our hungry little ones :)

funchum8am · 10/10/2012 20:49

Babyfunch has slept most of the day so I suspect may be wakeful tonight. I am giving her a big feed now, and then I am going to get some sleep in straight away to try and get ahead of the tiredness. I think this is a cunning plan..we shall see!

Good luck for happy sleeps everyone!
