Marbles, SusieLoo I think we've hit the same stage again haven't we?

It will pass, won't it????

This is all new to me now as both DDs were sleeping through every night by now - but they were also both on bottles by this time.

I have to remember how much money I've saved us by EBFing DS and how proud of myself I am for actually doing it for this long at all Smile

Come on ladies Grin think happy thoughts GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Goatbongosanonynous · 09/10/2012 05:33

Yep, feed number four here too.
I'm hallucinating that hot choc now...

Susieloo · 09/10/2012 05:40

Bang on half five he was awake, he's not even hungry but had kicked all his blankets off so may have been cold? I have ordered him a purflo sleep sac so hopefully that will fit him. Agree babylon we all seem to have gone back weeks recently and mini marbles and babyloo are about to hit the three month growth spurt-oh joy!!

Hello squishy it is hard going isn't it, I have had many a meltdownSad

He sees to have resettled so I'm going to try for another hour.

Smicha · 09/10/2012 06:05

I'll have a soft chewy cookie please and a big mug of tea! Too tired to post before now. DS slept from 7 until 10 last night without his usual cluster feed and I knew I'd pay for it later as he has no desire to sleep tonight at all but also hasn't wanted to feed as much as usual. We've also had lots of poop and now we're onto hiccups. And wide eyes that don't look sleepy at all. Oh the joys! DH is already up for work so I hope we can steal some more sleep once he goes.

Planning to attend a local Bf support group today just to check I'm doing it all right and ask some questions, but I'm not sure I have the energy now!

Sending well wishes to those of you with sniffles and hope you feel better soon.

Going to try and get him to feed again to see if that knocks him out...I very much doubt it!

MrsNPattz · 09/10/2012 06:15

heffalumps they sound gorgeous! Where are they from?

Sorry everyone is having such a bad time - we literally have to take if one night at a time don't we, or even an hour at a time. Does anyone else get anxious as night time draws closer, wondering what the night will bring, or is that just me?

Ewan worked again earlier, I didn't think he was going to Confused but he didn't let me down.

I'm a bad mum - little fella just got sick on his head and it made me laugh lol

MrsNPattz · 09/10/2012 06:23

Oh ps, word of advice, don't try and order things on iPad at 3am! I got a groupon for a photo canvas thing, and had started ordering it yesterday but got distracted. Tonight I went back to it, and had to start again. When I got to check out I thought it had remembered my order and thus my groupon code so I merrily went along putting in my card details to pay for the postage only to discover that it had not in fact remembered my groupon and I had paid 50 quid for it Blush so now I have 2 of the bloody things coming and have spent over 60 quid!! I didn't even want one of the bloody things, but got it cause it was cheap ConfusedHmmAngry lol

Smicha · 09/10/2012 06:24

Yes Mrsnpattz, I get anxious each night knowing it won't be easy!

I also laugh at things like sick on head... I figure it's better for him to see my smiling face than me crying Grin

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 09/10/2012 08:48

Thanks babylon, you're right it will and i'll keep telling myself that. I'm going to be keeping positive & taking it an hour at a time today. Well done you as well, and everyone who's still going, it's definitely something you deserve to feel proud of :)

Mrsnpattz There's an old fashioned sweet shop in our town that does all sorts of gorgeous goodies, DH bought me a bag to cheer me up at the weekend and I've nearly scoffed the lot already.

I know what you mean re the anxiousness at night, I was worse with DD1 I was terrified of night time and not knowing how she'd be. I'm better this time as I think it's less of a shock but I do get a bit anxious wondering if I will be able to get any sleep or not.

We both finally got to sleep about half 5, I tried putting her width ways in the crib so I could sort of lay beside her without her being in our bed and it seemed to work as she could still hear and feel me so we slept until DD2 came bounding in demanding cbeebies :)

MrsNPattz · 09/10/2012 09:55

heffalumps yum think I will have to google those!

Glad I'm not alone with the anxiousness, I'm always kind of glad once morning arrives Smile

Susieloo · 09/10/2012 19:41

Last feed before bed then its shower and bed for me too, my French bistro plans all went pear shaped because I opened the window in our bedroom this morning and realized there was an overwhelming smell of gas outside, in a complete panic I googled gas leaks and called the emergency number, they asked me to go outside and check if the smell was coming from the meter cupboard which it was so they said they would send an engineer within the hour. He then starts telling me loads of safety procedures like don't turn anything off or on so I decided to leave with babyloo and go to mil's up the road, I am Blush to admit I went in my pjs I was so panicky about the house exploding, agreed with British gas they would ring me when they got there to gain entry to the house. They rang and I left babyloo with mil and an emergency bottle of formula and legged it back down the road still in pjs and a coat. The engineer was on the drive and as soon as I got there he said "it's a cat!!!!!" Apparently when Tom cats mark their territory it smells like gas and they get lots of calls about it!! It was a cat!!!!Blush. The cat had sprayed all around our bins which is where the gas meter is. The engineer was very lovely and checked the house over anyway. I'm just grateful that I didn't go with my first thought which was call the fire brigade and alert the neighbours!!!!

In my haste I had rung work friends and cancelled so didn't get to go and eat loads of post pregnancy food.

Felt very, very tired today, really, really need some sleep, babyloo has given up sleeping in the day and by six o clock couldn't keep his eyes open so he had a quick bath then bed at seven ish.

Hope you all get some sleep and sending sparkly sleep dust and sleepy mice out to everyoneSmile

TeaandHobnobs · 09/10/2012 21:07

So last night, DS went down for his "late evening nap" at 8ish in his basket in the lounge, and usually he will wake around the time I want to go to bed, when I change his nappy and put his sleepsuit on and we both go to bed. Except he is starting to not really stir or wake when I want to go to bed.

So tonight I have put him down in his crib upstairs. I fed him on both sides, but he was still wide awake when I put him down (although had already made signs that he was ready to sleep). I stayed with him for a bit, played lullabies on his monitor - still wide awake! (but quiet) I've turned the lullabies off now and he has just dropped off to sleep. I am intrigued to see how this will affect his first waking.

He woke me up at 3am this morning with laughing. In his sleep. He is an odd baby!

I hope there are many good nights on the thread tonight Smile

Loislane78 · 09/10/2012 21:21

Grin susie never heard that before about cat wee! Shame you missed nice dinner out :(. Just thinking it was a good you had emergency milk stash, I should do that, almost too lazy to express...

Tried to go with a routine I saw online today which is similar to LOs natural one (when she's not 7 wk growth spurting anyway!). Let's see about nighttime, the true test!

Happy zzzzzz's everyone :) I'm turning in for an early night as keep missing daytime naps.

funchum8am · 09/10/2012 21:30

Susie you poor thing! That sounds really stressful, and you didn't get your post pregnancy pate! Presumably you can rearrange but still annoying. But at least your house didn't explode.

Last feed before bed here, and hoping for minimum 2 hours between feeds tonight. I don't think I can ask for more from a five day old baby but it would be nice to have some solid stretches of sleep. Good luck ladies!

Ps have ordered a Ewan the dream sheep today!

Goatbongosanonymous · 09/10/2012 21:40

Susieloo, what a nerve racking experience! But I'm glad it turned out not to be anything dreadful like a gas leak... And you definitely need to reschedule that dinner to celebrate!
Tea, sounds like your DS has good dreams!
Lois, what is the routine? Tell us if it works.
Funch, fingers crossed for some solid blocks of sleep.

So those of you ŵith prems - how have you found the developmental milestones? Real age, correctd or somewhere in between? Also things like night feeding - when did you let them go longer between feeds without waking them? Although that last might be sadly unexplored territory for us all yet...

missingmymarbles · 09/10/2012 21:42

Evening all Smile

Missmarbles went down just after 8; and has just woken for a feedHmm no idea what that means. Hopefully a top up before a really long stretch, and not 2hourly feeds of growth spurt proportions! Who mentioned regression? I really hope not.

Hope minipop is getting over his cold and minipopsmum.

Sorry to giggle at the gas/cat incident Susie! I didn't know that either, but glad your house didn't blow up Grin

Sorry I can't remember other specific posts, nearly sleeping already if Missmarbles would finish her supper.

Goatbongosanonymous · 09/10/2012 21:43

with prems - what on earth happened there??!

TeaandHobnobs · 09/10/2012 22:15

Goat I've not been paying very much attention to milestones, but I'm guessing he is reaching them somewhere between actual and corrected age, probably more towards the corrected age end. He seems to be fairly in line with babies born around his due date, although he is perhaps a bit more alert and engaged - but his motor type skills are definitely more linked with corrected age.

How old is Kidlet now? I always let DS dictate when he wanted to feed at night, but he has always been a good weight gainer (and never failed to let me know when it was time to feed!) so there was never a need to wake him to feed, which I know is necessary for many prems when they are little. It took him until 4 months actual, 2 months corrected to start sleeping for longer than 3 hours with any sort of consistency, I reckon.

I have to confess it is all a bit of a blur and I can't really recall what happened when now!

missingmymarbles · 09/10/2012 22:18

Goat, my first was prem and fed 2 hourly. Day and night. Til she was at least 6 months actual. Tbh I lost track of when she stopped waking through the night because I gave up hope she would. Sorry, I know that doesn't sound very helpful. She did become extremely efficient though. She would feed and be back to sleep within 10 minutes so I think I just got used to it and didn't feel I had been massively disturbed even though I had to get up because she was in her own room. I remember one night she slept from 7-4 for the first time, and my boobs felt like they would explode! She was weaning by then though.
Re milestones, some were before corrected age some at corrected age but none at actual age until after 18 months and I was told to tell teachers that she had been prem, up to the age of 7, but I haven't felt I have needed to. (She was just over 10 weeks prem).
Hth

TeaandHobnobs · 09/10/2012 23:08

(didn't have to wait to see when DS would first wake up, as DH decided he wanted to wake him up before he went to bed Hmm was quite funny watching him try to wake hm by kissing his face etc, and DS' responding body language was most definitely "sod off!" Grin At least now I am feeding him and we should both go to sleep for a good few hours, fingers crossed)

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 10/10/2012 00:15

Hi all, well I've just tried putting baby lump down to sleep after her feed, she's having none of it though so I'm anticipating another long night. At least tonight I remembered to bring snacks up to bed with me, I was so hungry last night I'm sure it was my belly rumbling keeping her awake!

susieloo that's such a shame you missed your dinner, hope you get to rearrange soon and at least on the positive side you're house is ok after all!

Sending sleepy thoughts out to all the little ones tonight so the mummies can get some rest :)

missingmymarbles · 10/10/2012 00:31

Second feed still going on here. Seems its going to be 2 hourly. Not amused Hmm This is supposed to be when she does her long stretch. Perhaps she's changing her habit and she's going to do a long stretch from now....

Susieloo · 10/10/2012 00:34

First feed of the night over here but he's not settling so think we will be up again in a minute, hope we get another two or three hours now or even until 4 would be amazingSmile

Goatbongosanonymous · 10/10/2012 00:45

Thanks, teaandmarbles just worrying I guess in case I miss something! Kidlet is now 12weeks actual age, 3 1/2 weeks corrected. There certainly is no danger of him sleeping through the night any time soon, but yesterday he was very sleepy and didn't want to wake after 5 hours a couple of times. NNU had said I shouldn't leave him longer than that, but then he weighs a lot more now. I am just a bit worried though that he takes approx 90 mins to drink 100 ml even from a bottle (am mix feeding) unless I am pretty much pouring it down him. Makes for an interesting feeding cycle!

Mm, heffalump - snacks! So organised! Although hope you don't need too many because you are asleep.

funchum8am · 10/10/2012 00:47

Nappy changed and first night feed here - she did 3 hours and I am so grateful! Another 3 would be a godsend. Mw came today and said I don't have to offer both Boone every feed unless I think she really wants both, and the first boob is empty, so can feed for slightly shorter periods too, while she is so young.

Fingers crossed for a nice long sleep stretch now...

Smicha · 10/10/2012 00:48

I never knew that about cats and gas! Sorry you didn't get your nice lunch Susie, couldn't help but giggle at your story though!

We have both been asleep since 10 and now on first feed...not sure what this will mean for the rest of the night as first feed usually comes a bit later than this, so the few hours of sleep I stole early may mean I get less overall. Hope not!
